Thanks for your teachings, really, great help to me. I quit rc heli flying 12 years ago and bought me an OMP2 EVO and Spektrum transmitter NX8+. Now I'm trying to tame the bird down a bit by using your tips on your channel.
Great video as usual, for me I found 40% throttle in normal made the heli squirrely at take off so bumped it up to 50% and that made a world of difference. I'm still a beginner of sorts, and found that putting "SAFE or RESCUE" on the A switch helped, which is how I've setup my Nano S3 too so used to that now.
Pretty easy setup. Glad you showed how to get the stabilization/self level mode setup, I wasn't sure about that step. Thanks for putting this together!
Very easy setup! You’re welcome, that’s a very important step for anyone to know as self level is a must for the beginner or anyone who want it and it’s there so might as well use it!
Very informative vid especially for those new pilots that want to program their radio correctly. Another thing I like about this video is you making me want to try the iX12 😂 seem very intuitive and the UI is very nice. Thanks again my friend.
Thank you! My goal is to make the videos as easy and simple to follow for the guys who are new or don’t know how to setup or just want to setup there radio like mine. The IX12 is a fantastic radio, I love it! It’s super easy and straight forward to use and smooth!
I agree. I jumped on the Jumper T16 Pro wagon when they first came out and quickly realized it wasn't for me. I got a Spektrum NX8 and couldn't be happier!
They redesigned the battery cage to provide much better protection to that lipo. I like it, the last thing you want is a battery fire following a bad crash. The M2 V2 has the battery completely exposed from the bottom. Much more likely to get perforated and fatally damaged in a bad crash. The worst design though is how blade does it by just making it so the battery sits on top, absolutely NO protection at all except for from the canopy, which generally ain't much.
So I took mine out for the first time. I'm still really new to the hobby, however I noticed mine really likes to drift to the right. Is there anyway I can make it not want to drift so much to the right? Do you think I can just use sub trim or may it be something mechanical?
Never use the trim tabs on your transmitter or sub trim! First thing I would do is put the FBL in servo centering mode and make sure all three servos are at 90°. If all three servos are 90° and swashplate is level, then do a trim/celebration flight.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thanks for the help, can you possibly do a tutorial on how to center the servos when you get a chance? It would be nice to see a good tutorial on how to do this for both the S2 and M2 since they're so similar.
I wonder what remote receiver (Spektrum) will work with the OMP helis. On Spektrum RCs website I see only rem Rec having a 4-pin connector and the OMP controller has a 3-pin connector (and maybe another protocoll?).
The four pin RX you are seeing a SRXL2. They are still DSMX protocol but it is wired differently so a regular FBL that does not support SRXL2 will not work. Any regular three wire DSMX satellite will work with all OMP models.
Can I ask, since I don't have a pitch gauge meter, how many points on the transmitter are 1,8 and 0,6 degrees? I need to adjust my transmitter and nowhere in the locality where I am is this device sold.
Hey Jeff, I don't have a standalone reciever with dsmx port -- just an "orange" one with standard futaba plugs, can I use this to bind the dsmx? ..if not what is a "cheap" reciever with DSMX I can pick up to use for this (and other similar binds)
Is the orange Receiver a DSMX/DSM2? Any RX with a satellite port works fine. I use a clown spektrum 6210 RX. (Won’t trust it in a model but works great for bench binding) you can also get the Kensun DSMX satellite with a bind button.
Great video , I set up mine while watching your video and did the maiden yesterday. Can you give me some tips on making the heli less sensitive. I am a intermediate pilot. Thank you for the help.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful! So there is a few different things you can do, you can add EXPO on elevator/Ailerons. You can go into the FBL and turn servo speed down. It’s factory set to 5 blinks you can turn Down to 3 and see how you like it.
I do not believe so. The 360 receiver doesn’t have a satellite port? I need to look at mine again but I do not believe it does. Get yourself a Kensun with a bind button.
It’s crazy none in my area know how to bind my nx8 to m2 evo and they don’t have the receivers needed🤣 I’ve had it for over a year as a newbie can’t even use it
Hey Man... glad I watched this, whew this is confusing to a noobie :D lol.... So, I think I know the Satellite I need. It's about $40 on amazon , and it's the new single antenna design, does that sound right? Ok, but I don't know what a receiver really is. Can I just get a cheap one, and it's just for binding? Would you help provide me the AR model # and let me know if I am not understanding something right?
It can definitely be confusing! I need to start adding links! Lol but here is one that you don’t need to bind with a separate RX www.buddyrc.com/products/kensun-dsm2-dsmx-compatible-satellite-receiver-with-binding-button unfortunately it’s out of stock right now but you can look up and see if you can find one. Or www.horizonhobby.com/product/dsmx-remote-receiver/SPM9745.html but you need a separate RX to bind.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 That gives me a new question lol.... "separate RX" What is this and whats it for? I just need this for binding? So I tried to google it.. so I need like a AR620? I promise... I try to google these questions and look on Yt before I ask you lol! Thanks so much, this hobby can be a lot at first!
@@rsnate2930 ask all the questions you need! That is part of learning and asking questions is how you learn! So a separate RX is a Receiver. The 620 doesn’t have a satellite port so you would have to use any receiver that has a satellite port. Now not a SRXL2 port but regular DSMX satellite port. So any of the older RX. If you don’t have one or anything to bind with your best bet would be the Kensun or any satellite with a bind button.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Not having any luck on finding a binding button.... will the AR6210 DSMX 6 work? Theres a couple used ones on eBay. Thats all I have been able to find so far. @@rsnate2930 unfortunately the Kensun is out of stock right now, I looked as well. Yes the AR6210 will work great. You just need it for binding. Do NOT place the satellite under the motor between the skids. The carbon fiber can and does interfere/ block signal. The magnetic field generated by the motor wouldn't help either. The best place is one that doesn't put the CF frame between the receiver wire and transmitter no matter what orientation. ( not saying to be a dick, just know this topic well, had to track down random signal hits at a local field a while back.
No not really, as long as the antennas are out of any carbon you are fine. Been doing it this way on all micro and never ever been a problem. The motor magnets will not affect the satellite what’s so ever. Yes carbon fiber does block signal but the carbon fiber frame sides are open and the antennas are outside of it. So no signal is being blocked whatsoever. Many years ago with old technology maybe the motor magnets could affect some thing but not now. My M2, M2 EVO, Goosky S2 and others all have the satellite in the same place and have hundreds of flights and never once had a issue. My M2 EXP is in a scale EC-145 body with the satellite placed in the same location then put inside a body and still zero issues.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Yes really, I've experienced it with multiple aircraft as well as almost every flight on my Trex 700 came down with one of the two satellites flashing. Meaning it lost connection. Just because you haven't experienced something does not mean it doesnt exist or that others can't possibly know more than you. do you have any problems with the pitch as i push the stick and it seems like it tack a good while to move the helicopter
No I do not, but check yours and make sure you have 0 at mid stick a equal positive and negative pitch.

Witch 230? V2 or Smart? If it’s the smart then you have the mini 6250 so you can adjust rotation rate witch will speed the model up.
