This is fantastic. As a Buddhist and a trans person, I felt connected to this video. I feel like being trans has given me so so much more patience in almost every aspect of my life and a much deeper appreciating for being present within a journey as opposed to being focused on destination.

Couldn't agree more. I have a lot of thoughts on the matter that I couldn't fit into one RUclips comment, but for me stretching is about growth and self care.
It's very personal and important to me as someone that's attempted suicide and self harmed before. Piercings, tattoos and stretching give me an opportunity to look after myself instead of hurting myself. Just taking 5 minutes in a day to chill and oil my lobes and septum is therapeutic for me. Having body modifications makes me feel responsible to shower and treat my body better than I have been in the past. I'm not perfect, but like you say, it's a journey. Both in stretching and self growth.
    Thank you for this video.

This is super inspiring! I just stretched my ears for the first time earlier this month.
I already planned on taking it slow, but this puts a whole new perspective on it.
As someone who's struggled greatly with my self worth and confidence my entire life I'm excited to go on this jorney with myself, learning to appreciate and listen to my body. Thank you for this video, I think it's just what I needed to hear.

I had already been pierced several times but really started getting passionate about it as a way to connect with my body after receiving multiple diagnoses of chronic illnesses. It is funny how easy it is to forget though why I am doing this in the first place. Listening to this video a couple days after my first tiny lobe tear trying to go from 10g to 8g and with a couple deep breaths am feeling grateful for this opportunity to slow down and be really attentive to what my body is asking of me.

This video is so perfect for me, as a non-binary person looking to connect more to my body and someone who’s been slowly stretching their ears but struggling to appreciate the journey. I’m sure I will come back to the video so many times when I want to rush my journey. I have a lot of deadlines coming up which have made me very stressed but thinking about it while messaging my ears made me feel very calm. I would love to have big lobes in the future but knowing that’s many years away I should be focused on the process like you said. I’m not putting this into words very well but this video is amazing and I would love to have more content about focusing on the journey of stretching. :)

I really needed this video, thank you. I’ve been stretching my septum and I’ve really been rushing and only focusing on the future, even though I know I want to focus on the journey. This was a really good & really needed reminder :)

It is SO easy to get caught up in the future and our long term goals. But you have this amazing opportunity to experience such a powerful and unique connection with your body and mind if you slow down, and your septum will also thank you for giving it time to rest and relax and stretch at its own pace.

@@Lynn_LoheideSo so true!! I’ll enjoy my next stretches, the time between them, and the pain that comes with the actual stretch, lol. It’s an experience I’m grateful to have :)

I really needed to hear this today, thank you. I’ve been stretching my lobes very slowly for 20 years now and I must say I too regret not being as present as I would have liked to during the process. I’m still not quite at my goal size, which admittedly has changed multiple times now, but as I approach my goal I find myself wanting more from the process. We always want what we can’t have I guess. That time is gone. But what a beautiful reminder to be grateful, present and patient with myself.

Awesome video!! this one hit home for sure. I notice when I stop looking at things on my body they tend to grow faster and when you randomly pass a mirror and realize how something has grown it's so cool and makes me feel so proud to look at I've been growing my hair for about 6 years and my ears for one these slow process things are the most satisfying!!!

we have a lot of similar ideas when it comes to stretching and our journeys with it. i started stretching when i was a freshman. i am now a senior. i was definitely a bit impatient the first year or so. i now just wait until jewelry slips in. i massage them with oil everyday. i appreciate each individual size because all sizes are absolutely stunning. i love the cultural significance behind it. even if i didn’t start for cultural reasons, i’ve learned to appreciate it over time. i’m now at 18mm and my goal size is an inch. i’m absolutely in love with your content and you’ve taught me so much this last year. i plan on joining the piercing industry and i’m forever grateful for you sharing your wisdom. sorry if this comment is all over the place. just thought i’d comment my thoughts

oh also, i love writing and sharing my wisdom (what little i have of it) with others. i read a lot of your blog posts. i also want to someday write and post stuff like that. i think there’s not nearly enough piercers out there with as much passion and strong morals like you. i hope to someday be just like you

Wow this is such an amazing video that puts this idea into words so well. I just started my ear stretching journey and your videos have really been the catalyst for me to finally start and feel confident in doing so. I love hearing you talk about how body piercings can be an act of self care and love.

I mean for me, honestly, when I see other people with stretched ears for example which is super rare where I live - I just instantly feel like starting to talk to them and hear their journey and what they learnt about it and stuff like that. Its definitely potentially more than just a style choice, if you want to look deeper.

Thank you! I used your code last week on that website you recommended. It worked and they were so so nice. I'm glad I tried glass plugs right away. Never knew why they keep getting a bit irritated with metal jewelry. The insight helped a lot!!!!! Thank you.

I'm pretty early in my stretching journey- I've done my conch and lobes about two times each and it really is an act of care I don't usually give myself. My left ear so far has shown me it needs a lot more time than my right and that's okay, even if it means my plugs are mismatched a lot of the time lol

I've been doing this for my last stretch to my goal size, 22mm. I'm currently at 21mm and super close to my goal size, and sometimes it's easy to just say "you're almost there, lets just put in the next size." But also... because this is my last stretch, I figured I should wait as long as necessary and really sit with this one because this is the end of my stretching journey. It's great to keep this in mind

I have one question: Why do so so so many companies skip sizes past 10 mm? They go 12 - 14, and 11 or 13 are skipped. Why do they do that? So so many companies just miss the unpair numbers.
