    Why does this only have a thousand odd views? This was an excellent and insightful video that everybody who has or wants stretched lobes should see. But unfortunately the young kids are much more likely to give 500,000+ views to the 18 year old with 2" lobes that look awful, wearing cheap acrylic plugs (probably even still referring to them as "gauges"), telling them to "gauge" every month with tapers they find at Hot Topic. And that's scary.

    This is one of the few home made advice video on stretching from a non piercer I’ve seen. Even some new school “professional” pieces have shit advice. I believe since you are old school like me and started way back in the 90’s when it along with tattoos was taboo before every 16 year old girl and their mothers were getting this stuff done in like 2010. I think you really have a good balance of healthy methods and practicality. Some of these younger guys and gals get so absurd with their “advice”! I could go on forever and sound like a bitter old man but I’ll try not too. It’s just that we paved the way for all these rich kids from the suburbs to get into it. Being a young hardcore punk kid people use to try and fight us for looking like that. Calling us faggots, and pussies, and kinds of other shit. Nowadays kids have it so easy which in a way it’s cool because I know that for 10-15 years I was one of the folks paving the way. Anyway I’ll digress, and finish up by saying well done on the video and it was a half hour well spent so don’t even sweat that! Plus you are very beautiful so that made it even better haha. Ok have a nice day and hope you get to read this! PEACE!!!!

    I recently began my ear stretching journey. It was something I had been wanting to do for a long time. I did a lot of research before purchasing anything. And even after I got my first tapers and tunnels, I still waited. I'm glad I did. There's so much bad information out. I read a lot of things on BAF's forum.
    I'm currently at a 14g and will probably move up around the end of June if my lobes are ready. I've seen so many nice, thick, large lobes that I want to make sure I make the right choices to have healthy lobes.
    I have a question about cleaning them though. Besides sea salt soaks, a lot of posters will say they wash theirs in the shower when they wash their hair and just let shampoo run over them. Well having locs and having kinky hair, daily washing isn't an option. At the moment I take them out like every other night and sort of wash them with warm soapy water, try them, then put my tunnels back in. But when the stretch was fresh I just used a qtip with soapy water to rub around it.
    Is that enough? The possibility of having an infection scares the shit out of me because of the horror stories I've seen. But I also don't want to do too much.
    I also want to move to glass, but I'm having trouble finding super affordable and reliable sources.
    Thanks in advance, sorry it's so long.

    I asked as many questions as possible since it’s gauging not just an earring and so they started with stone or glass and she was mentioning to CONSTANTLY shower and wash easy around my ears, she said wait a minimum of 6mo before taking out what I have in and then she’d look to see my ears generally look great to start or wait longer for stretching and I believed her info as well and started with 10g. Looks like I went to Clair’s. But I heard patience will only make your ears look better

    Before I stretched I did SOOOO much research and it took me almost two years to convince my parents. I also taught them a lot. My first holes were done with a gun because I was two, and that's what how all the other mothers were getting the child's ears done. But I told my mom how nasty and horrible the piercing guns are, and we went to a tattoo and piercing shop to get my second holes done. There was like a TINEY sting and it didn't really hurt. But the sad thing is they were done with a horse shoe piercing (16g) and the screw off balls on both lobes came off. :(
    THE GOOD THING IS! They're almost fully healed!! Yay!! And In February I'll probably get my nose pierced. Very excited!

    Super helpful video! I got my ears pierced at a 14g with a labret and after three months of them literally not healing I had to change them to a circular barbell which helped a lot, but the point of saying all that was, having to deal with that already helped me to listen to my body when something's not right. I got my ears pierced back in 1990 with a gun-back then, there weren't so many piercing studios & in the early 90s, alot of people thought that ear piercing with a needle was like, barbaric, lol! Luckily they were even. I started streching in about 97 & back then, body jewelry was SO limted & expensive-like I can remember paying $30 for a set of shitty acrylic no flare 8g plugs. It's so nice now all the options we have. I'm pretty lucky though, I live in Philly & Philly has some good piercing places-there's Infinite, & then there's Luis Garcia at No Ka Oi, he's very well known in the industry. I forget sometimes that not everybody is as lucky as me & lives near good places like that.

    Awesome vid, I've been stretching for almost 2 years now. I went to a shop and got pierced with larger needle so I started at 6g. I'm now at 9/16 and my lobes are like "yeah, this is where we will stop" lol. My lobes were pretty easy to stretch naturally til I got to 7/16 that's when I started to tape up. I got too lazy now and I guess between that and the price of good plugs are expensive even with my 10% discount at BAF I'm done with stretching. But I envy large lobes!!

  • @caesarbudriquez5569
    @caesarbudriquez5569 7 лет назад

    Damn good video, thank you. I would add that when using tapers, those screw in ones are absolutely the best. Single flares tend to catch the fistula on the way through and at 0g and up(for me) the tunnels are really tight. The screw back tunnels allow for better cleaning and for me, if I wear a single flare too long the rubber ring doesn't seem to allow my skin to breath. I also highly recommend for those going to 0 or 00g, don't stretch straight from 2-0 or 0-00, you can get 7mm and 9mm sets which are the sizes in between each.

    Everyone needs to watch this video. THANK YOU for mentioning getting stretched by a piercer! You should not have to stretch your ears and wait a few months for it to "heal". Your ears should self stretch. I really wish I got my ears dermal punched to get rid of my piercing gun piercings and to my placement. I didn't have an issue as smaller sizes but at 3/4ths my ears are off and would need to scalpel to fix placement.

    Thanks for the video, you seem much more informed on the topic than others I've watched. I've been stretching for just a bit now, I'm currently at an 8g. I plan on only going to about a 2g or 0g. However, I would like to get an additional lobe piercing next to my original one to wear normal earrings in. Would you recommend waiting until I'm at my desired gauge size for this piercing or would it be okay if I got it in the near future? Also, if I ever decide I'd like to let my ears shrink, which method is better: simply removing the jewelry and letting it shrink on its own, or gradually downsizing by inserting smaller plugs every so often?

    Please do a plug collection! :) also, are you still at the same size you were in this video, or did you go bigger? I'm new to stretching my ears and it got to the point where I'd get so impatient, that I'd only wait 2-3 days, the most I've ever waited was about 5 days. I'm at an 8 gauge but I couldn't get the tunnel in so I'm gonna sleep with the tapers in and try to put the tunnels in before school, if my ears get irritated I'm just gonna downsize.

    So glad I found your channel, but I do have a question! I have been at 00g for a while and for about 2 years and I would like to move up a gauge and I would like to know what would be the best way to move up a size. Oh by the way I'm the only one who has been on my ears. A professional told me to use weights. Will that damage my ears?

    • @TheLouis3877
      @TheLouis3877 6 лет назад

      Starshema Rash sorry no one answered you. Weights do stretch your ears but can tear your ear. It happens to a lot of people. They are left with a split ear. Now you can buy online a stretching kit from 00g to 1'' and choose where to stop. To make it easier you can tape your 00g with bondage or teflon tape (2 or 1 rounds of tape every 2-3 weeks) until you feel ready to size up and it won't hurt.

I have my original piercing when I was 5 and new ones just above the old holes that I've done myself. Would gauging my ears even alittle bit have a major effect on my other pierced holes?(the ones I've done myself.)

So because I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to the pain that comes with piercings I went back and got my daith done. Still didnt hurt! I think my ears are dead lol. My piercer said I just have a high pain tolerance. Which I dont mind at all, especially being someone who enjoys body mods. Have a good day mam. Oh quick question: have you always been attracted to body mods? From the info I get from the video you've been at this a long time. When I was younger I didnt really care for piercings on myself. I had a few, my tongue and my belly button, but that's all I had growing up. Now fast forward to me at 35 my ears are all decked out and I've got a couple on my face. It's pretty cool how you evolve as a human and do things you never thought you would.

    Quick question. I stretched my ears to an 8g probably 3 weeks ago? And this morning I noticed my o ring fell off the front. So I played with the taper a little And it actually turns out it was inside my ear lobe. Like my lobe had swallowed it and my lobes r kinda loose with my taper in. lol. Would that mean I'm ready to stretch?

    Hello! Thanks so much for this helpful video.
    I was hoping you'd have the time to help me out. I got my ears pierced back in February at 10g. Everything seemed fine, but my jewelry kept falling out while i was asleep and getting lost. One ear was naked for about two days at one point, and the other for about a week. (I know I should have acted sooner, but stuff happens, you know? Please don't judge me!) In both cases I went to a piercer and they had to re-stretch my ear back up to 10g. I know I'm not supposed to ever do any drastic stretching, so my question for you is do you think my earlobes will still be healthy after all that?
    Thanks for taking the time. Have a good one!

      If you’re jewelry was falling out like that then that was probably the biggest sign that you should size up.

    So i have been wanting to stretch my ears for awhile just never had the guts to do it cause im a little scared. I did have my ears pierced with a gun, but they have closed in the past and i think ive re-punctured them with a regular earring maybe twice cause the front would be open but not the back. Of course there's a knot my ears from the piercing. Should i see if they close back up and then get them re done or would there even be a point in doing them?

    Just trying to get another opinion before a week ago I have never pierced my ear lobes at all and last week I had a professional who has gone through training and is experienced in both stretching ears and having stretched ears currently doesn't have stretched ears at all for personal reasons I could get into but aren't important he is a friend of mine and he has been trained from my understanding by a known and experienced piercer anyways I had him stretch to the biggest size he said 2g I said ok and we got to it ... I felt almost no pain after and still am experiencing almost no pain whatsoever a little soar but nothing close to unbearable they are a little scabby and bled slightly yesterday when I removed a cotton ball that had wound wash on it they feel fine at most slightly soar he said 2 months of healing but I plan on waiting longer ... Your thoughts?

      Do you think I should be fine as long as I let the ears heal properly

      Waiting longer for what? To stretch? If yes to stretch I would wait another 6/7 months.
