I got my ear stretched from nothing to 00g in one day, later I got to know that it isn't the right way to do it. But thankfully I washed my ear and massaged it with hot salt water twice everyday and I was able to move from 00g to 12mm(1/2") within a month. The heavy plugs tip is all too true, even if you haven’t started stretching again. When I started stretching my ears, I had put in a very heavy set of earrings that made my ears sag a bit. I was then able to stretch them straight to 10g immediately pretty easily.

But you pointed out some things I've been doing wrong and some really helpful tips that I will be trying from now on. Thanks!
I just started this journey today as I’m also going through self rediscovering and growth. It just felt like the right time to do this for me! And your tips will help me greatly so thank you for this I would have never guessed the shower to help. 🙏🏻🙌💖 ty!!!
Omg finally someone who is straight to the point and isn’t flamboyant. Thank you! What size should I go to the point I can go back to the beginning or somewhere in the beginning before stretching?
The general rule is 2g or 0g is the point of no return where it won't stretch back to normal, but it really varies person to person. Everyone's ears are different after all
I started stretching my ears about a month ago and I'm at a 2G right now and I found this video very helpful! I use antibiertial spray and alcohol whips when doing anything with my gauges and that has seemed to help make this a very smooth transition and it keeps my ears more sterile and the antibacterial spray has a pain nummer in it that helps my ears not get that little throbbing feeling after stretching. 😊
@@kiera3335 I got the gauge wrong I'm only at a 4g lol 😅 but it's been a real easy journey I have traded the alcohol whips for sea salt spray and the antibacterial spray. I've not had any tearing or blow outs, I'm waiting a while before my next stretch so my ear is completely healed 😊
Great advice. I started stretching my ears about 23/24 years ago.. I've slowly gone down in sizes over the years and am around a 0/00g rn but recently felt like I wanted to move up again. It's been so long since I've stretched and I used to just jam the next size up in there but the thought of that grosses me out in my old age now. Lol. I'm going to try taping, just wondering if anyone has an opinion on which type to try. Any advice or links would be appreciated 😁 TIA.🖤
Hello! I have a question for anyone who can pitch in! How do you know when your stretch has fully healed so that you can, say, switch out the jewellery but not necessarily size up? I plan on taking my time with my stretching, but I don't want to accidentally hurt my ears by taking out the jewellery too early. Thanks!
Wow. This was very concise, and you covered so much. I really appreciate the info. Look for Corona cream. Oh, and I took courses in office skills. One thing they said was don't end a sentence on a tone of asking a question. YOU WERE PERFECT. Thank you.
I wanted to Thank you SO MUCH for the tip on taking a hot shower and then sizing up...I went from 11mm to 12 with zero pain or discomfort. I got out of the shower took my 11's out and put jojoba oil on my ears and the 12's went in no problems at all. And I had tried to do it a couple times prior but it was hurting so I stopped. I appreciate the great tip , 🖤
Gonna start my stretching journey in April im at a normal ear piercing size right now and my goal is 0g I can’t wait! So glad I found this video thank you for the tips
You did a great video of explaining tips & tricks! My tip is to put the taper in hot water for at least a minute then putting it through, i added some aquaphor to my ear while waiting. That thing went in so smooth and I got that idea from you saying after a hot shower!
Is jojoba oil okay as a lubricant/moisturizer? A lot of companies include it with their products but I haven't actually seen or heard a lot about it from experienced ear stretch-ers.
I always use hand sanitizer and hot water to clean my tapers and gauges between stretches and my daily cleaning and moisturizing and I use piercing cleaner on the piercing itself
00g was my goal size but then when i got to it i was underwhelmed and kept sizing up and then when i got to 9/16ths it was my sweet spot have had stretched ears for 13 yrs youre gunna love em!
I have two piercings in my left earlobe and plan to get ones in my right ear. I stretched them out to about a 8-10 gauge years ago then just stopped wearing them. I shrunk down to about a 12g on the front one and a 14g on the back, and I'm starting to stretch them again. Not sure how far I'll go but I figured I'd try and do this the right way this time. Last time I just shoved them in and dealt with the pain for a while lol. I got some Holey Butter to use as a lubricant and a 64 piece plastic kit with plugs, spirals, and tapers. it seems to be helping so far and hopefully I can get up to about a 8g on the back and maybe a 6g or 4g on the front one. Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it.
I’m late lol People often don’t recommend keeping in your tapers cuz it can cause uneven stretching; but if you’re first starting, it’s fine to live it in for 1-2 day until the tunnel fits. I put my tunnel in the same day but it took hours. I also heard someone say they kept their tapers in for a day and by the next, the tunnel slid through perfectly.
okay so i just started stretching my ears, i’m starting with a 14g taper and i’m wondering if you put almost the entire length of the taper in or stop where it starts to hurt? i have them in about half way and i don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that
I’ve been wanting to scratch my ears for some time now and just doing some homework. This video very helpful so I’m finally going to consider doing it. Thank you
Ok I have just normal regular ear piercing I'm going to stretch my ears blind how do u use the stretchers call me naive but wanna go to just 2g 6mm only cuz I'm going on 47 I think I'm having I'm changing everything about me stage would you help me b4 I don't anything I'd appreciate it thanks Amy
I’ve found that Jojoba oil is the best thing to use when I’m stretching! It’s super cheap at Walmart in the nail care aisle. It’s good for cuticles too
Hi I’d like so start stretching my ears. But not too big. Question is how long do you leave the little stretching spike thing in for before you put the actual tunnel thing in.
Before I stretched, I heard from several sources not to wear tapers (the spike things) as jewelry. Follow the taper through the lobe with the jewelry right away.
Should I take my current size out when in the shower before stretching or leave them in and take them out before changing after the shower. I'm currently at a size 0, have been for close to 9 months and can't get 00 in. Going to try the tape method or buy an in between size. I had to go and in between going from 8 gauge to 0
I just went up to 5/8" and have a set of stone plugs. You mentioned a how shower, one would this be helpful getting the plugs in as well and two, do I try after getting out of the shower or while in the shower??
Just started stretching my ears and the 14g taper goes right in but i know its too soon to size up and was just wondering how long do i leave tapers in for? Any tips would help😅
don’t wear your tapers as jewelry, it’ll tear your ears as it’s too much weight. your tapers are supposed to be put in and replaced with plugs by sliding it through in front of the taper. definitely wait a month before sizing up until about 8g. (idk how big you plan to go but i hope this helped some..)
You can leave tapers in as long as you need to until yo wanna switch to plugs people say don't leave in tapers but nothing bad comes w that no need to switch out every stretch just b careful wen wearing tapers
So I’m at a 4 right now and I’d like to get to a zero but been debating on it cause some of my friends told me that when they went from the 4 to the 2 it hurt the most then any of the other gauges and so I been debating on it but I was doing mine by taking my ring and putting aquaphor on it and putting some on my ear and then slowly pushing it through till it was in
My lobes are at a standard (20G) earring size right now but were pierced using a needle and thicker gauge. Can I go ahead and put 16G earrings in using a taper? Like would that be okay?
i am just starting out from 20g to 18g i think it s, i'm new to it so im not sure but it's the smallest size to the next size up, what should i do if my lobe swells up a bit after inserting the taper for the first time
So what you’re saying is use tape around the taper piece and then put it in your ear ? I tapered about 2 years or so ago and I went up in sizes too quick and they never healed and it was so painful so I just took them out
Next week I’m doing this journey can’t wait to reach my goal is either 4g or 2g I only want to go were I can go back to my normal size if I don’t really like how they look on me. But thank you for the tips I really appreciate it!
I really need help with my ears...just a little info before I Sartre stretching my ears I used to have dangle earrings for my right ear and wore it all the time! But I realized while I was stretching my ears that my right ear started to look droopy or more thinner while I started stretching it, I’m at a 7/16 now but I really wanna be at a 1/2 but I’m very scared that I might rip my ears if I do... Idk if taking my tunnels out and hope that heals the bottom of my ear lobe ( that’s the part where it’s thin) but if you know anything please help me!!

First time stretching I went straight to a 4g. They healed but once I got to 00 I had a massive blowout. Fast forward to a year later and I’m doing it the right way now. Since they were previously stretched I was able to put 8g in right away no pain. And now I’m using correct jewelry as well so no irritation
This was super super helpful. I bought a stretching kit (14g all the way to 0 or 00g not sure) that is all acrylic tapers and I tried doing research on stretching to see if what J was doing was safe but it was kind of hard and not much was out there about them. But you pointed out some things I've been doing wrong and some really helpful tips that I will be trying from now on. Thanks!
i’m 16 and finally gonna be stretching my ears and i’m SO GLAD i learned about taping before starting since my goal size (at least right now) is a 00g
saaaame dude im at 14g rn hoping to go a 0/00g
I’m at 00g and trust me once you reach that goal you’re gonna wanna go bigger! ❤
Thank you! What size should I go to the point I can go back to the beginning or somewhere in the beginning before stretching?
there isnt really a “point of no return “ it truly depends on the persons ears it’s different for everyone
People who are triggered by flamboyant folks on yt shouldn't really watch yt videos at all🤣
The general rule is 2g or 0g is the point of no return where it won't stretch back to normal, but it really varies person to person.
HOW
@@kiera3335 I got the gauge wrong I'm only at a 4g lol 😅 but it's been a real easy journey I have traded the alcohol whips for sea salt spray and the antibacterial spray. I've not had any tearing or blow outs, I'm waiting a while before my next stretch so my ear is completely healed 😊
I want to stretch my ears, so thank you for this great video with tips on how to do that, hopefully this journey will be an easy one.
I am just now starting my ear stretching journey and this helps a heckin lot!
I used medical skin tape for mine :)
Hello! I have a question for anyone who can pitch in! How do you know when your stretch has fully healed so that you can, say, switch out the jewellery but not necessarily size up? I plan on taking my time with my stretching, but I don't want to accidentally hurt my ears by taking out the jewellery too early. Thanks!
Usually it takes about 3 weeks to heal or when u massage the inside and feel no discomfort that’s what I go by :)
@@vr2635 Hello! Thank you very much. I will use this as a gauge too. 😄
I just wait until I can pass the taper for the next size with no effort, just applying jojoba oil in it.
Wow. This was very concise, and you covered so much. I really appreciate the info. Look for Corona cream. Oh, and I took courses in office skills. One thing they said was don't end a sentence on a tone of asking a question. YOU WERE PERFECT. Thank you.
I found taping glass plugs easier than metal plugs cause they don't have the little grooves for the o ring. The tape is so finicky haha
I shall remember this!!!
Thank you so much for all your tips! I’m in the middle of going from an 8 to a 6 and the taping method is a great idea, thanks a lot❤
You did a great video of explaining tips & tricks! My tip is to put the taper in hot water for at least a minute then putting it through, i added some aquaphor to my ear while waiting. That thing went in so smooth and I got that idea from you saying after a hot shower!
Just started my gauging journey! This was very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you, that helped me a lot. My wife and I are about to start, but I can't wait.
Is jojoba oil okay as a lubricant/moisturizer? A lot of companies include it with their products but I haven't actually seen or heard a lot about it from experienced ear stretch-ers.
I've been stretching my ears for years and I can tell you that Jojoba oil helped my ears a lot when going up a size
I always use hand sanitizer and hot water to clean my tapers and gauges between stretches and my daily cleaning and moisturizing and I use piercing cleaner on the piercing itself
9/16 or 14mm is my goal size. I love how tunnels look. I'm currently at 8g and started taping.
Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it.
i don’t remember if she mentioned this but how long am i supposed to keep the tapers in before i can put a tunnel when i first begin stretching
Looking for info for my grandfather…this was very helpful. Thank you💖
Is there anything that will lessen blowout scars? I sadly started stretching mine when i was young and have them.
okay so i just started stretching my ears, i’m starting with a 14g taper and i’m wondering if you put almost the entire length of the taper in or stop where it starts to hurt? i have them in about half way and i don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that
Yeah you have to get to the largest part of the taper, yes stretching hurts lol
I’ve been wanting to scratch my ears for some time now and just doing some homework. This video very helpful so I’m finally going to consider doing it. Thank you
Ok I have just normal regular ear piercing I'm going to stretch my ears blind how do u use the stretchers call me naive but wanna go to just 2g 6mm only cuz I'm going on 47 I think I'm having I'm changing everything about me stage would you help me b4 I don't anything I'd appreciate it thanks Amy
Where do you buy the equipment that enables you to stretch your earlobes?
This has been the most helpful thing I've found so far! Thank you so much!!
I just ordered !! Super excited
I’ve found that Jojoba oil is the best thing to use when I’m stretching! It’s super cheap at Walmart in the nail care aisle. It’s good for cuticles too
Also how long would you suggest to wait to be able to move to the next size
Simple Google search says upwards of 6 weeks.
This made me feel a little better about doing it myself now! I’m going from a 10 to 8 today! Thanks for the advice!
Off topic but what is your lip colour? It’s beautiful x
I cant remember 😕
Hi Lindsay, thanks so much for your vid, it totally taught me something, I'm only going up to 4mm because of the job. 😇
what lipstick is that? it's super pretty!
i am at a 2 and after the 4 i had in playing with my gauges helped allow me to just put the next size in (my current 2s)
Where would you buy the range of sizes to get to the size you want? I don’t want to get the wrong thing and accidentally get an infection
Loved your cool looking necklace and your ears piercings and nose piercings to i have my left side nose piercing done
Thank you for the great info as I'm just starting to do my own. Been a big help
5:35 this is my first day stretching and I just did a hot towel compress which seemed to work ok
How long should I wait before sizing up and how do I know when I'm ready or not ready?
Hi I’d like so start stretching my ears. But not too big. Question is how long do you leave the little stretching spike thing in for before you put the actual tunnel thing in.
Just depends on your personal healing time
@@LindsayAlisha ok thankyou so you can’t just stick it right after using the spike?
@@bigmac9013 i would as a professional about that, i am not a licensed piercer.
@@LindsayAlisha thank you
Before I stretched, I heard from several sources not to wear tapers (the spike things) as jewelry.
I had to go and in between going from 8 gauge to 0
So can I go to a piercing shop and ask for advice there too? Sorry new to this and I want to get some too soon!
Please can you help me? My boy won't to stretch his ear. Would he be better doing it at home or going to the Please where he got the piercing.?
should certain materials be used and/or avoided in certain circumstances?
Thank you so much for these tips!!! ❤❤😊
I just went up to 5/8" and have a set of stone plugs. You mentioned a how shower, one would this be helpful getting the plugs in as well and two, do I try after getting out of the shower or while in the shower??
Either way!
@@LindsayAlisha thank you so much
Just started stretching my ears and the 14g taper goes right in but i know its too soon to size up and was just wondering how long do i leave tapers in for? Any tips would help😅
don’t wear your tapers as jewelry, it’ll tear your ears as it’s too much weight. your tapers are supposed to be put in and replaced with plugs by sliding it through in front of the taper. definitely wait a month before sizing up until about 8g. (idk how big you plan to go but i hope this helped some..)
You can leave tapers in as long as you need to until yo wanna switch to plugs people say don't leave in tapers but nothing bad comes w that no need to switch out every stretch just b careful wen wearing tapers
@@jamora7103 i slept with tapers in and it ripped my ear. never wear them.
Massive help thank you! ! At 40 now and I've had my ear pierced since 16 and now I am considering this. Must be a mid life crisis 😂
😂 I’m 40 also and I just started stretching my ears last week. This is funny because my kids said I’m going thru a mid life crisis 🤦🏾♀️
I’m over 40 and thinking about it. 😏
I'm 61 and I am doing this! But only to a "0".
So I’m at a 4 right now and I’d like to get to a zero but been debating on it cause some of my friends told me that when they went from the 4 to the 2 it hurt the most then any of the other gauges and so I been debating on it but I was doing mine by taking my ring and putting aquaphor on it and putting some on my ear and then slowly pushing it through till it was in
Hi I was wondering is jojoba oil is a good lubricant for the tapers of if I should stick to one of the other lubricants you mentioned?
My lobes are at a standard (20G) earring size right now but were pierced using a needle and thicker gauge. Can I go ahead and put 16G earrings in using a taper? Like would that be okay?
Usually people start with 16g or 14g
@@LindsayAlisha thank you!!
What do you do if you just wanted the smallest gauge possible
get your ears pierced
What is your opinion on using jojoba oil to stretch?
i am just starting out from 20g to 18g i think it s, i'm new to it so im not sure but it's the smallest size to the next size up, what should i do if my lobe swells up a bit after inserting the taper for the first time
what tape would you recommend
So what you’re saying is use tape around the taper piece and then put it in your ear ? I tapered about 2 years or so ago and I went up in sizes too quick and they never healed and it was so painful so I just took them out
Next week I’m doing this journey can’t wait to reach my goal is either 4g or 2g I only want to go were I can go back to my normal size if I don’t really like how they look on me. But thank you for the tips I really appreciate it!
I love your videos so much I can't stop watching them
I really need help with my ears...just a little info before I Sartre stretching my ears I used to have dangle earrings for my right ear and wore it all the time!
I would see a piercer and ask them!
@@LindsayAlisha alright!! Thank you :))
@@LindsayAlisha all tho I did look up some ways to make it thicker again!! It was most likely because I rushed my stretching process- and it said the best thing to do is down stretch!
I just started my ear stretching stuff yesterday. And so far the ones I have to stretch have been like pushing themselves out so idk if I doing it right
What size is she wearing in the video ? G or mm? Ty 😊
where do you buy the stretchings things please ?
Go to Amazon search up taper stretching kit
Yes you did help me a lot you show me what kind of plugs to put in your ear thank you very much God-bless you
Can I use vaseline to moisturize my ears for when I stretch them??
yes
No
As a former piercer I’m going to say no, because it isn’t breathable. Just use jojoba oil and you should be fine.
How do I put in the very small rubber band backings on a 14g earring with no flare? It just looks like a super tiny rubber ring and I can't seem to fit both onto the earrings with the earring in my ear
thank you for the vid! I do dead stretching i think its called but once i reach 4g or 2g im gonna start taping. Also whats ur lip 👀 it looks so good on you!
How many rolls of tape should i put around my gauges to stretch out one size up?
How long in between does one wait,? Like how many days
Can I use natural Aloe gel as a moisturizer?
No no! Use oil. You need your ears moisturized 24/7 or they will dry out.
@@aubreyann4129 thanks
What kind of oils or creams or anything do you recommend for stretching ears? I hear a lot of different things but I’m not sure
jojoba oil 100%
New here, and new to the stretch. Great video, very informative. I'll be looking forward learning more about the process.
I just went to a 0g and I have a feeling I didn’t do it right cus it hurt so bad and I had to kinda force it. Now when I clean them they have gunk should I just take them out let them heal go back to old size and try again with taping or heavy gauges ? ( I never had problems stretching all the way up to 2g so this is making me a lil worried that i am not stretching my ears right)
what do I do if I'm struggling to move up a particular size?
I swear one of my ears is like 22g and I can’t use a regular post. Just won’t go in! I’m current wearing a 20g hoop and have been pulling gently on the earring. Glad I watched this lest I cause a tear or blowout
Thank you for this video. It helped me out!
I just started stretching my ears again. I had left ear to a 00 when I was younger and didn’t get my right ear pierced till later and never stretched it. Had earrings out for a decade now but already back to a 6g in my left ear with ease it just keeps opening up. I have been going a little quick with my right ear and worried about scar tissue. I went from normal piercing to 12 in a little over a month and it’s been a month with the 12 in and I can’t get the 10 in still. Any tips?
Use polysporn to stretch, it's a nice lubricant and an antibacterial. I have never had an issue. Working on 4g at the moment
Thank you so so much. I was literally starting my process for the first time just now and was doing everything wrong lol. You saved me!
I only have tapers and I got them behind my moms back at Spencer’s and I know I’m not supposed to use tapers to stretch but I can’t get plugs and I just don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any tips?
You are supposed to use tapers to stretch lol that's the point of tapers... you just use plugs to change once you stretch plus it's harder to stretch w plugs I recommend vitamin E oil and tapers 👍🏻
@@jamora7103 oh ok thx for telling me😁 Ive always been told you’re not supposed to stretch with tapers. It’s a good thing I have tapers then. I use jojoba oil which is kinda like vitamin e oil.
