I hope you love these games as much as I do :)
Thanks to your input I was actually able to play the original two games on my Steam Deck! Overall they were pretty great, loved the atmosphere and especially the graphics in the sequel. I think between the two, the final boss in the first game was my least favorite part, it felt like it relied too much on the luck of getting 5 fairyflies while avoid random attacks to win. But hey can't really complain at a free to play price!
Man, this was a dose of nostalgia I didn't know I needed! I played WnS and Everloom at LEAST once a year as a kid/teen- I still have the songs on my Newgrounds playlist! The ambience and relaxed mood compared to most other flash games at the time formed a huge part of my love for games that embrace a slow pace and focus on atmosphere/music. And the jbmt02 games... my brother and I used to spend hours playing them (tho we never did get all the achievements). The Flash era was so formative and unique and I really do feel like a large part of internet history as a whole was lost with its retirement. I am glad projects like the Newgrounds Player and Flashpoint Archive exist to preserve at least a part of it. Have you made a video on those yet?
I remember spending a lot of time with Blast Magus, completely obsessed with the soundtrack. W&S2 and Dillo Hills 2 were my go to when I needed some piece and quiet from work and life. I still have my Kongregate account to this day and after Flash died, a part of me went with it. I don't think the internet gonna see an era like that again.
i’ve been looking this game up because i forgot the name and “a game where you play as a fox looking for your human friends journal entries” doesn’t bring up this game
Hi, I just found your channel and like what I've seen so far. I really wanted to ask though, what happened to your Back In A Flash subseries? I've been deeply interested lately in the subject of Flash games that made the jump to more fully realized forms (especially ones that got physical releases), and it made me a bit sad to see that the second and most recent episode was over a year ago.
Glad to see that William and Sly 1 and 2 got ported to Steam in this bundle which now includes The Everloom as well! I also tried this new game thanks to the currently ongoing Steam Nextfest and honestly it wasn't doing it for me. I ended up returning to the first two games and replaying them to get Steam achievements. Something about the new one lost the charm for me. But just because it's not for me doesn't mean it won't be fun for everyone else.

THE FOX RUNS FREE ONCE AGAIN!
Lucas Paakh has a great sense for melancholic, atmospheric worldbuilding.

I'm stupidly excited for this. It was my favourite flash game as a teen :)
I always wondered if those games inspired Ori.

I have to say. I did not expect to see William and Slu on this channel. The new game has some interesting test maps in the data lol
Thank you for bringing my childhood back.
