Whatever's going on with Alice is Dead, I hope to see happen with a lot of old flash series. I'd love to se this sort of treatment be given to games like Gretel and Hansel, the never ending light, or Exmortis.
Thanks! And the Gretal and Hansel game that came out at the same time as ours was SO cool, in many ways in my head, it's like a sister or brother game to ours.
There's also Myosotis - a very different, very beautiful and kind of feel-good fantasy game, although it also dealt with heavy subjects like amnesia. Would have loved to see the ending to that one
Edit: huh, I've been confused, apparently. The game I was talking about is named Trader of Stories, but it also has a protagonist named Myosotis. And the series called Myosotis is very differebt, but also good!!!!!
Also, Anaksha series! This used to be my somewhat guilty pleasure back in the day. It's flawed, and I mean, FLAWED, but I loved it all the same, and killing criminals was very cathartic
There's a lot more, actually. Being One, Aurora, the one about a female spy in the first half of the 20th century, Jonah, Belial... So nostalgic, so good
They didn't have to make different text for every possible combination of items being used on objects, but they did, and I'm here for it.
I can’t believe I only just now found this video! revisiting my annual replay of the alice is dead series and coming back to find it is so far in development is so, so exciting. i’ve enjoyed the game since it came out and i’m so elated to see it’s revival! you can see the hard work so clearly with the team, I can’t wait to re-experience this game all over again. it looks so phenomenal already! 💙
seriously incredible to see its improvement, this series was such a big inspiration to me not only as a story-teller but an artist. this is incredible. I only hope it gets twice the amount of traction this time around :)

Im of the belief that the flash era devs, are the best game developers of the current times. They were not limited by anything while making flash games, and gained experience and fame thanks to flash. As a result, them coming to the current era of indie games is like bringing chess masters to an elementary school chess tournament.
Maaaaannnnn! I remember stumbling on these when I was a kid just mucking around online. It was the very first "dark Alice in Wonderland" I ever came across.
I have nothing but fond memories of playing these, can't wait for the new stuff!!

Anything that has a dark twist on Alice in wonderland I immediately am intrigued by it, Alice madness returns and American McGee’s are two of my favourite games, I remember this game but only yesterday that I was reminded of it by a RUclipsr now I am very interested ❤️

I remember playing this game since I was 12 or 13, I really love how badass and eerie game was designed. I was kinda disappointed when it left off a cliffhanger in the 3rd chapter and wonder there would a 4th and 5th chapter. I really adore a good game inspired by Alice in wonderland story and characters as a AMA and AMR fan. After so long, I'm adding to my steam wishlist, streaming it on my twitch channel some day.
If the new HD version does well will have a loose plan for a 4th game! Time will tell! :D I just want all of the games to match in style and art. I've grown as an artist a lot more since the original games.

I am so excited for the remake of this! The "Alice is Dead" song is in my playlist to this day and I always vibe when it comes on shuffle.
Hania Zdunek's music for this game is amazing, she really was a talented musician of the old flash times

This means so much to me, I've had the soundtrack on my phones and PCs ever since the game came out, I loved the game so much as a kid and still do.
I have played a good few point and clicks, and while I wouldn't argue it's objectively the best, Alice is Dead is absolutely by far my favourite of all time.
I *just* found the channel after looking up endotopia. What timing.
I have to admit, so far, looking at the comparisons, I do prefer the old one. It could be nostalgia, but side by side, the old is just much more visceral, eerie, mysterious.
Could be the colours, could be that the filter was much more heavy on the old one, here you kinda forget it's there passively, could even be the high definition and detail.
But hey, I'm looking at a small fraction, make no mistake, no matter how it ends up, I'll absolutely be getting it, and loving it, thank you for doing this.
This means a lot to me to hear. We had so many restrictions when making the games (they had to be under 10 megs) it has been a real treat to work on it again without those limits. I know the new version won't be for everyone, anyhting remade is going to 'not be the same' to some people, but also, I'm okay with that, the old games are still there. This is as much for me as it is for anyone else, I hope everyone understands that we're not replacing anything, just building on top of it.

I understand the desire to not be influenced by other Alice adaptations, especially when McGee's has a level of comparablility, but DAMN ONCE THEY'RE DONE I REALLY WANT THEN TO FINALLY EXPERIENCE ALICE AND MADNESS RETURNS D :

You should review the three part series: Darkness the game.
If they need to feel to keep the remake in 3 episodes, they would need to at least a add bit more to make it interesting for the story if I'm going to be spending a dime for something short. I never consider AiD quite memorable flash over the years due to the vague narrative, lost in time on the internet, and the cliffhanger ending. If this was my favorite game then theres gotta something that I like for the story and AiD world, not just the wonderland characters. If the game was more like the fnaf series with its vague narrative, then it would get its gold trophy like how Scott did the fnaf franchise. Tbh I just hate being oblivious towards a work of art, and then the artist says: "it's done" What's done about it? What's the conclusion? What's memorable about it?And why?
Like I said, if they add a bit more secrets and lore into "heart city", then I'll consider it my favorite point and click game.
My advice for the 3 devs: Add a bit more to your art, and dont just slap a price tag on then consider it "done" when it's just a redesign to the original.
Our original path that we started was absolutely "remake the games with some bells and whistles".
Now it's opened up into the idea of turning 3 games into one, filling in some blanks, fleshing out the world, and adding new mysteries to examine.
These 3 games totaled 60-90 minutes aren't suddenly going to turn into a 20 hour experience. But the goal is to do right by the fans, and the legacy of the games, and making it feel worth any asking price (amount TBD)
