I would like to say that your predictions for the church were based on how Christian churches work, but Alvin specifically says that forgiveness isnt a thing in their religion, making it definitely not Christianity. If i had to guess, the church in deltarune is for a nonspecific religion with nonspecific practices, that may vaguely resemble Christian traditions. Idrk tho 🤷‍♀️
(Also, not looking for any kind of debate or anything, i just wanted to point it out because some of your predictions were based on assumptions about the in game religion, that i feel may have been a bit flawed)

I wonder if the endings aren’t red herrings after all. Kris without their heart seems to have their own premeditated plan. Consider this. He eats all the pie at the end of the first game. What is the thing that entices Suzy to stay over at the end of Chapter 2? Making a new pie. The next thing Kris does is slash his mom’s tires to keep her from taking Suzy home. I could be completely off base but it seems like there’s a plan here.

    * I think it's really unlikely, but I desparately want a dark world in the double doors of the freezer at Sans' shop, just because I think Sans going "oh, whoops. how'd that get there?" to a blatantly obvious dark fountain would be so funny

    • @Beowolf-jy5rc
      @Beowolf-jy5rc 11 месяцев назад +27

it could also be an ominous opening for a mini dark world, even if just for 1 boss or 1 boss and a p-2 like gauntlet,
a world completely drowned in snow, made just for one more dual
seeing sans goofing of about it would be interesting, but seeing it as a boss it could be a cool way to have a secret final boss,
maybe the boss depend's on the routes taken,
no weird and you get something like the god of hyperdeath, with sans goofing of
some and you get something akin to omega flowey or asgore, with a very nutral sans
and if all are done, we have a confrontation with sans like old time's
or maybe even papyrus ready to lecture the player on the player's action's, how escapism can be dangerous, and to not overly indulge in fantasy, as this can lead to you hurting other people even if you like them, pushing them away, by pressuring other's, ruining thing's for other's and more
doing the game like normal when with a new character (noelle in ch2) is like what susie did while with lancer, becoming close to them, before they have to leave, but the weird route is the opposite of that, by indulging in the fantasy of a "what if...".
this idea make's me wonder if every weird route will be about a different trait of a toxic friendship, snow-grave is pressuring, and ch3 may be about ruining something for everyone,
and how fitting would it be for all of this to be said by papyrus, the character altered most by the undertale fandom, flanderised to be a pun hating, somewhat dumb, overly innocent and spaghetti obsessed skeleton, to be so brutally like their original character, a not so innocent, pun making, skeleton who want's to be a knight, so attack's the main character.
im probably reaching but i like the idea's i'v proposed, sorry if this reply annoy's you by being to out there it's just this is the way my train of thought went turning a short comment into a long one.

I feel like the characters that would be most significant for Deltarune going forward are the ones with unique text sounds and portrait sprites. Berdly, Noelle and Susie have all of those, and were big parts of the game. It wouldn’t be that big of a stretch to think Alphys, Rudy, Toriel, or Asgore are probably likely to appear in at least one of the chapters.

Of note: Lord of The Hammer pretty clearly alludes to Lord of The Rings. Tolkien was well-known as a devout Catholic and LoTR has a lot of religious undertones in the background. So sticking it in with the church makes sense.
All the Dark Worlds seem like they will follow a theme---they are fictional mediums in which we use imagination to engage in escapism. It seems that Dark Worlds don't necessarily create a world so much as take an already existing fictional world and make it real. So you would EXPECT a chapter based on books. Tolkien is basically the father of modern fantasy, it makes sense to have a Dark World based on his works. So I think the church chapter will count as the books/literature chapter with it primarily taking place in a Dark World based on Lord of The Rings high fantasy, with the villain inhabiting in a Mordor-like land of darkness.

I hadn’t connected the dots about how each location is a form of escapism (toys, internet/pc, tv, fantasy stories)

    • @qwertykins76
      @qwertykins76 10 месяцев назад +14

@chicken0w044 Yeah well from what I can tell, it sorta seems like Dark Worlds are just worlds that already existed in someone's imagination, then the Dark Fountain makes them real and gives them life, sorta like how the DT Extractor gave Flowey life. So for example, if you exposed a toy to a Dark Fountain but that toy was factory-new, I don't think it would do anything, or at least that toy wouldn't become a very complex being. But a toy that's been played with, that a person perhaps gave a name or a backstory to, that has memories associated with it..... Those are what the Dark Fountain brings to life the most. They take the escapist fantasy you had and make it reality.
So if that's true, then Toby is probably themeing every chapter after a different medium of escapism. That's why I think Lord of The Rings is gonna be a Dark World. A "Books" chapter seems practically guaranteed, and if you had to select ONE book that most encapsulates escapism......well you'd pick Alice in Wonderland. But if you had to pick a SECOND book, yeah definitely Lord of The Rings. LoTR paved the way for our modern idea of a high fantasy setting, it has religious undertones that make sense for the church chapter on Sunday, darkness is a big theme in LoTR, and the fact Lord of The Hammer has been mentioned by name makes me deeply suspicious that this is foreshadowing....... Also c'mon. Legolas Ralsei and Gimli (who uses an axe) Susie? That just writes itself.
There's a line in Deltarune about how Gerson's best story ideas always came to him "in dreams". I'm POSITIVE this is actually implying Gerson would regularly go inside Dark Worlds, and THEY were the inspiration for his novels. I think for Lord of The Hammer what he was actually doing was creating the sort of high-fantasy universe that HE would love to explore, and then, he brought it to life and would go on adventures within the book. And then he'd go back into the real world and as the author, he would add or change stuff. Editing his book to alter the Dark World, and make it even cooler.
I think the Gandalf parallel in that world is going to be Gerson. It seems fitting. Not the real Gerson, but his self-insert persona. However......There is a very real chance the real Gerson ISN'T actually dead. Perhaps everyone THOUGHT he was dead because Gerson disappeared mysteriously one day, because he went inside his book and never returned. Whether that be because he was so enthralled by this fantasy world that he chose not to, or because something trapped him there.

@@qwertykins76 it is a questionable theory. You could tie anything into escapism if you tried hard enough; the bunker/shelter being a potential dark world already makes it bizarre unless it turns into a pun on literally escaping from disaster.
Escapism was one of the main themes of chapter 2 and the tone of the game is fairly hearted. I think escapism will stop playing as big of a role later on as the other underlying theme of fate & free will take center stage.

Kris did a lot more than just slash the tires, they were gone for enough time for Toriel and Susie to bake an entire god damn pie (its cooling by the time they get back).

People have actually found assets for chapters eight through ten in the files, so there might be more potential than we're expecting.
There's also assets for a chapter zero, which if anything, would be some sort of bonus content unlocked through the weird routes. Probably the place where the crazy things regarding Gaster and Kris's relationship with the Soul will be dealt with. A conceptual place outside the main narrative, where the fourth wall doesn't apply, not because it's broken, but because the action is happening on the audience's side, with the actual story the characters came from staying behind as a mere backdrop, if that metaphor makes any sense.

I wonder if his reluctance to tell us how many chapters there are might mean there could actually be more than seven, but who knows lol

Something I think a lot of people don't realize about the church is that it doesn't need to align with real-life religious practices. Alvin has already confirmed that sin and confession aren't a thing in this world's religion, so why would we assume that Sunday mass is a thing too? I do think we'll get a fountain in the church, but I think a lot of people focus too much on trying to connect the church to real-life Christian practices.

The lack of sin for their religion is a unique take to me. Because while I do agree that certain things that would be considered sin in Christianity proper might not be for the Deltarune faith, their religion probably still has a code of ethics of what is right and wrong or why the religion should even be followed at all.

For Asgore losing his Job as Chef of Police, I think he ended up following bad evidence that lead to many false claims as Asgore was pressure further to find Dess and and solve the case, with Noelle mother firing him for being incompetent of finding her Daughter. Toriel left likely due to self destructive behaviour effecting her and the kids, Asgore self-worth is something he always seem to have problems with as making bad choice due to him believing he doesn't deserve respect after failing to find Dess would make a lot of sense.

With Noel and Rudy I don’t think they’ll get their little fantastical adventure.
An idea I’ve had for a long time is that if Rudy were to ever end up in a dark world, his disease would change him. Turning him into some kind of beast taken over by his disease, corrupted and barely hanging on. We then have to defeat him and in turn curing him. Maybe Asgore could also be there to help him cause I think that would be fun.
We’ve seen already that things in a dark world at the point of creation become a part of it (cards, checkers, plushies, computer stuff, etc).
I think it would be a really interesting thing to explore. And maybe once he’s free he can save Dess

When hearing about predictions for the ending, I always think back on what Toby Fox said about it in a FAQ, that his inspiration for Deltarune comes from the ending of a game he dreamt up while in a fever dream. And how the sole reason he bothered to start making that game which he admits would take years of effort to complete, is because he wanted this ending to be made.
Early concept art from 2014 shows that Kris, Susie and Ralsei were already thought up before undertale even came out. Makes you think whatever Toby Fox saw in that dream, the fun gang was there already conceptualized, in this ending.

Not the same one, I think delta rune is an alternate reality. What I believe is that the war being humans and monsters did happen in deltarune and this time it was the humans who were locked up. A couple decades if not hundreds of years later kris somehow escapes and is adopted by the dreamurs, the reason why it hasn’t been mentioned by anyone is cus the war is treated like a horrible atrocity like the holocaust and who’s going to bring up something that they fee indirectly guilty about to a victim of that situation. *warning: a debatably philosophical and comprehensible rant ahead that is ether severely out of place or right where it belong's*
well they do matter, but in that case it's more of a contextual change that would make it all hit harder, the player put's in so much effort, make's kris loose so much to get a bad ending, only to be left with the same conclusion, if not a bit more hollow, they waste their time hoping that everyone is wrong, there's is something, choices do matter, & you do so much wrong, refuse to listen, do the bad thing's, act like an ass, and expect to be rewarded for acting like a bad person,
all for what, just to see what would happen, to prove the power's above wrong,
there is only one ending, you'r choices don't matter, and yet you'r first instinct is to be the bad guy, did you even try to get a good one,
even if in a game this is still applicable to the real world in a way, there is one ending, and it's called death, if there is only 1 ending why make people miserable, why make them sad, what point will that prove, but what satisfaction will that give you when you reach the same ending, who would you have left, what point would you be proving, so why do that when you can make other's less miserable, help other's, make a legacy people can enjoy, have a positive influence on the world around you, there's no point that can be made, there's no one to prove wrong, there's one ending, so why make your action's harmful when you can make the journey for other's better, and your's along with it.

To add onto your theory of the Church being involved with a later chapter with Fantasy setting elements, in a Fantasy setting of a game, the churches tend to have high significance. This is also the case with games like the Dragon Quest franchise, where many games in that franchise has the church be significant. What you are provided for visiting it can differ from game to game. For some examples, some games make it where you have to go to for saving your game. But almost always in Dragon Quest games, it's where you go to for dispelling ailments on your party members like being cursed, or to revive them from death. And with the name of the game Noelle plays, "Dragon Blazers III", being perhaps a parody of the name of a game, that being "Dragon Quest III" (unless there's a different game it's parodying off of that has a similar name to, that I don't know about. I'm out of touch with many games from the retro eras), which is often a fan favorite among the die-hard fans of Dragon Quest as a whole, perhaps that can birth some references into Deltarune of that game. We know likely anything beyond the name of "Dragon Blazers III" is off the table of being a parody of Dragon Quest III, as, because I played Dragon Quest III, the things Noelle talks about Dragon Blazers III, they're not something you'd find in Dragon Quest III. There's no pacifist actions you can do to spare enemies in Dragon Quest in general. Also, a side note, at first Dragon Quest III was localized as "Dragon Warrior III" before adopting the Japanese name of the franchise as the localized name, and initially being a home console game, but did get a gameboy port, before getting an enhanced port to mobile and Nintendo Switch. Back to the initial point at hand, perhaps the Church could have some sort of holy magical things from it perhaps being in a Dark World, as religion is very important in some fantasy setting games. Tabletop RPGs for example, Clerics gain their healing powers from their faith in their god or goddess they worship. And in games, religion in fantasy settings is often use either as a way of recovery, like perhaps December Holiday or those who care about her missing could get aid of, or, religion in fantasy setting games, is used in a negative manner. Like having religion tied to evil, and so could be involved with the "Angel's Heaven", which is shown negatively when Ralsei is talking about it. Sorry for all this rambling, I tend to stay off the main topic of what I started to talk about for, in favor of over-explaining things that are not needed to be over-explained. My family cuts me off when I talk too much cause they know I will over-explain things, and they do not have patience for all that

Awesome theories! I wasn't even thinking about the carnival/Roaring pairing, or Asgore's shop but now that I've heard it, it just makes too much sense.
I think one theme that I'm surprised tends to get overlooked is the relationship a child has with their parents and the expectations placed on them. Both chapters so far (excluding Weird Route) have ended with the final boss being defeated, not by the Delta Warriors, but by their child/metaphorical child standing up to them and forging their own path in spite of their parent's wishes. And given Toriel's (almost certain) inclusion in Ch3, it wouldn't be strange to see that trend continue. She's always been very protective of her kids, and I imagine she might object to Kris's heroics in the Dark World, on the grounds that it's too dangerous, and the normal route for the chapter will end with her accepting Kris and Susie's exploits, allowing them to do what has to be done.
Plus, there's plenty of other characters who could fit into that theme as well. Susie clearly has some issues at home, Catty clearly feels like she doesn't quite fit in with the rest of her relatives, and Asriel/Ralsei could be used to explore Asgore's issues as a parent and his relationship with his kids.

While I agree that ICE-E and the Cafe might not make for very expansive Dark Worlds, I do feel like there's potential for them as a combined experience.
One of my theories on the later chapters is that we're eventually going to have a chapter with multiple Dark Worlds, and you can go between them by going through the Light World. This would expand on how you can go in and out of Castle Town at the end of chapter two. These two would be perfect for related (both food/restaurant themed), but still distinct Dark Worlds.

Given that there's no chance in hell that the carnival/festival isn't going to be hugely significant, they could easily tie in there. I think they're too interesting to be completely irrelevant, but not interesting enough to stand on their own. Making them a component of something else (which is basically what they are in town) would let them get the right amount of attention.

    Idea for the church chapter:
-Noelle dad dies, there is funeral in which either:
1: Noelle runs away into the forest
2: they go from graveyard Then it transfers to the church, where Noele runs away to some special room
    - Noelle and the gang are transferred to the Dark world
-this dark world would have 3 themes that will be changing which will represent us traveling from either forest->graveyard->church or church->graveyard->forest
-Forest will either have hunting theme, chase theme, or simple wild theme with maybe horror theme
-graveyard will have normal Halloween theme, or undead theme
-church will either be horror church theme if it will be last part or be holly place if it will be a place where we start
-we will meet Noelle lost sister in either forest and she will partially join like Suzie in chapter 1 or she will only partially appear and quickly hide when we start in the church and fully meet her when reaching the forest
-Noelle dead/dying father will appear in Graveyard chapter, he might be in the grave and unable to leave and we will open his coffin, or he will be undead. We might also meet other already dead characters there
-After we solve the Dark fountain we will have an epilogue with us sitting at the graveyard with some deep conversations etc. and Toriel might drive to the church to pick us up, or we would travel to the lake where Azriel could come back and meet us, which would then transfer to us going to Azgor flower shop

The idea of basing a dark world on Gerson's fiction seems super plausible to me. Rather than locations, I'm thinking about dark worlds in the future chapters more in terms of the creative/fictional/entertainment products they'll derive from. Fantasy books are a great match for that.
The idea of an Asriel/Asgore/flower chapter makes a lot of sense narratively, but I don't think there's anything to base a dark world on in that location - no creative spark. It may be that Asgore takes Asriel and Kris somewhere else on a trip, or it may be that Asgore sets up some kind of entertainment for Asriel in preparation for him staying there. Of the common forms of entertainment media that haven't yet been touched on, I think movies would be the most likely shot in the dark, if the apparent upcoming TV chapter doesn't cover too many of those ideas first.

I kind of believe that fountain themes have a lot to do with the recurring theme of a medium for entertainment that we as humans have created
    Chapter 1 = Board games
    Chapter 2 = Internet
    Chapter 3 = Television
In a way, these worlds offer escapism the same way they do for us in real life, and our Light World characters often escape to them instead of other responsibilities (ie getting the chalk or working on a school project)
That being said, I feel like your points for a Water themed dark world and the Church make a lot of sense when you view them as being themed around Music and Books respectively! Hard to say for certain though
Also while I totally agree that the double doors in the flower shop HAS to signify a potential dark world, I have been hung up on the idea of how flowers relates to this theme. I know gardening is a big hobby for many, but it does seem a bit more thematically off than the others. Maybe there's something in that room we don't know about yet? This is a smaller thing, but we got to remember that “Mr. Society” (the bishop piece from the first chapter) left castle town. one theory i thought of while watching this video, though it's extremely specific and i admit it's very unlikely:
in a future chapter, it's going to be revealed that when lightners spend too long in dark worlds, they start to be split across realities like gaster was when he "fell into his creation" (i seriously doubt this line from undertale is referring to the core since it's just a big geothermal generator. falling into it would have just incinerated gaster, not done any weird multiverse shenanigans). then it's going to be revealed that the doors south of town lead to a dark world that's existed for god knows how long (perhaps ralsei could even be from there), and that dess fell down there and the strange text people have found in the files of chapter 1 and 2 has been dess screaming out into the void and we in real life heard her cries for help.
also i think a future chapter, possibly the final one, will bring back the lore detail undertale established about human and monster souls becoming extremely powerful when mixed together.

    @NumerousBadgers 4 месяца назад +1

I’m guessing it’s Mayor Holiday as the knight, and Gaster as the strange someone.
Gaster: What I believe is that Gaster created the bunker, but then died in a horrible accident, similar to how he died in Undertale, since important events in Deltarune seem to parallel important events in Undertale. (Toriel and Asgore splitting up, Mettaton wanting a better body, etc.) In this theory, Gaster is assumed to not be the Mystery Man. The reason to this is that the Mystery Man is mainly assumed to be Gaster by the theory that he looks like Sans and Papyrus, and passed down the Gaster Blasters to them. (Sans uses them and Papyrus is assumed to have used them in his special attack.) This can be disproven by the fact that Sans and Papyrus are new to town, and in Undertale, Papyrus’ special attack was shown to just be a bunch of bones- not any Gaster Blasters. Now that we’ve successfully separated Gaster from Sans/Papyrus, we can now put him in the right place at the right time- making the bunker and dying in an accident before Dess’ disappearance. When he died in the accident, he was shattered across time and space.
The only question is: what was Gaster really studying? I assume it was determination and soul power, leading him to discover dark fountains and the dark worlds. When he dies, he decides to continue his research by going to different dark worlds, and choosing Darkners to experiment on, give determination to, and share his immense knowledge of the past, present, and future with, as well as his knowledge of other dark worlds. I believe he didn’t only talk to Spamton and Jevil, but also the various bosses who mention each other’s dark worlds. After studying the dark worlds, driving the secret bosses insane, and studying determination for years and years on end, he decides to perform another experiment, by deciding to control another human. I’m proposing the theory that *you* are Gaster, and your true form is actually the vessel you create at the start (The “Fragment” of Gaster seen in Undertale is humanoid, just like the Vessel.) You take control of Kris’ body, experiment with their determination, soul, etc.
I suspect at one point, Gaster gets separated from Kris, and the two duel. You can either defeat Kris in an outright fight and forcibly seize complete control of their body, or talk it out and befriend Kris, where you both realize that you need each other, and come to a mutual understanding. Kris will have internal dialogue here, which you will get to see.
Dess and Ralsei: Dess, Kris, Noelle, and Asriel explored the abandoned bunker, when something went terribly wrong. A dark fountain engulfed the room- one of Gaster’s experiments gone horribly wrong. Dess is sucked into the dark world, alongside Kris’ red horns. Dess became trapped in the dark world, and the red headband became Ralsei. While Gaster was studying his fountains, he came across the prophecy and told it to Ralsei. This explains why you still try to save the world, even if you skip through Ralsei’s prophecy- because you already know the details.
Ralsei immediately realizes Kris was possessed by Gaster, which is what they try to explain to Kris, and why they blush when overlapping with your soul- he knows it’s you in control. It’s also why he faces the camera in the acid boat sequence. He suspects that you/Gaster are the one in control and making moves on him.
    Mayor Holiday:
Mayor Holiday ran into the bunker to try to rescue Dess, but it was too late. She read through Gaster’s notes about dark fountains, and became the Roaring Knight in an effort to find her daughter, making fountains in areas her daughter loved to frequent. This is why she grows bitter, cold, and abusive. She was shaped by her grief and the dark powers into a determined, powerful woman, who will do anything she can to get her daughter back.

My guess is that the game will have a main set ending, but will require multiple playthroughs to see the true ending. We've already seen that each of the three SAVES has it's differences, we know that there's a series of long term collectables like the eggs and shadow crystals. We also know Toby has, at least with Undertale, shown that you don't always get the true ending right away, even if you finish a playthrough. You may have to start a new save with a finished save parallel to it, go back with prior knowledge (or perhaps bring items/characters back from the "future" with a reset to the start of the game).
With the allusions to WDGaster involved, and the inclusion of the weird route in Chapter 2, and in UT how the Pacifist/true ending changes if you did a prior Genocide - not to mention the various themes/elements of time/dimensions not only in DR/UT, but in side content like the sweepstakes, not to mention the potential gold mine that is Skies Forever Blue (the collab song Toby Fox made with themes of corrupted game saves/glitches and time travel) - I full am on board with the idea that the contents of earlier chapters may change, perhaps minor perhaps massively, if you've completed a playthrough or have a finished game save in another slot.
Ralsei also seems to know more than they let on - seemingly aware of the player themselves, which also suggests that Ralsei is trying to push things in such a way that let them manipulate Kris the same way we'd manipulate characters like Noelle. There's a clear end goal, or perhaps Ralsei has been through this game's cycle so much that they take on the equated role of Flowey - someone who manipulated the timeline before our interference. Maybe they're not as violent as Flowey, maybe they are and are trying something different or know the best approach to manipulating us is through kindness. This would explain his knowledge of the "Prophecy", his peculiar actions/responses, Kris' reaction to their tea, heck even the parallel of both Flowey and Ralsei being the ones to introduce the battle mechanics of the game, including button controls. They know what a SAVE is, but pretend not to later on.
I agree with your general chapter structure - 3 being the character dissection of Toriel, the introduction of Alyphs and Undyne, 4 being church themed and exploring themes of grief or loss with Rudy and Gerson (who's gravestone may end up animating in his image with the help of the stories in his books kept at the Church).
But I disagree with 5. I don't think Asriel will return until either chapter 6 or 7. Instead, we'll see a retrospect into the fall Asgore had, compare and contrast with the mayor - Noelle's mom - who is likely the one enforcing the overdue rent we see mention of in the flower shop. This could explore themes of duty, Asgore not taking care of himself after failing to find Dess as the Police Chief and his fall from grace and failed marriage - meanwhile the same sense of duty and failure could be explored in Noelle's mom, who likely buried herself in her work and became more stern/strict in response to the loss of Dess - and how the two butt heads for emotionally processing the same situation differently, both meanwhile dealing with some kind of estranged marriage. We know that Asgore & Rudy have had a relationship of some kind prior due to the christmas dialogues on the site, and this might play into it as well - maybe allowing the two to connect as both might care deeply for Rudy and feel similarly about his failing health. This chapter could take place in the Flower Shop, or the Mayor's office, and it'd work well in either. If it did take place in the Flower Shop, it could tie into the "water level" of the beach to a degree, but that's just a spit take.
I do like the idea that the incoming festival will play crucial part into the Roaring. I suspect that the Roaring will begin shortly before or after Asriel's return, and we'll begin to fully grasp who the Knight is supposed to be (Asriel? Gaster? The Unused Vessel? Kris? Who?). Overall, I am hyped up for the releases of chapter 3 and 4, and can't WAIT until we see more.

I think the bunker is going to be a fountain. It could even be where Dess is! My reasoning for this is that I think it might have a connection to Gaster, and Gaster is ALWAYS seemingly present and his motifs and scraps in undertale could be related. I think he ties the games somewhat together!

If you don't mind me adding some points, I've got a few ideas. I'm sure that most of what I'm going to say is a bit redundant, but I wanted to put it out there just in case.
First, in regards to Fountains being made only in places with double doors --- the front entrance of Toriel's house is not a double door, and I think it's pretty safe to say that Ch 3 will take place in the house. Not only that, but both doors to the Card Kingdom (main classroom entrance & door connecting to the closet) aren't double doors in the Light World either, and theoretically someone could have entered that dark world directly through the classroom door instead of the closet door like we do. I don't think that this point really detracts from the main points of the fountain location theories, but it's worth noting that we shouldn't discredit locations just because they don't have the right door style.
Second, as far as using a fantasy-substitute for religion in a church-based Fountain, I don't think that's likely or necessary. Already both Undertale and Deltarune have had some significant religious themes. Hell, the main plot of Deltarune is to "banish the Angle's Heaven", with imagery of angels (Noelle), demons/devils (Jevil, Gaster), and prophets (Spamton). Toby uses general religious motifs/imagery constantly, and thus I don't think it's too far a stretch to say that there could be a Fountain in the church/graveyard that focuses on the Angel, Knight, or other.
Again, I'm sure that most of the points I've made are kinda repetitive or unnecessary, but I think it's good to consider at the very least.

I always assumed that we would get a group project duo in each chapter. Ch1 had kris&suzie, ch2 had noelle&berdly, it would be strange to miss out on catti&jockington and monsterkid&snowy and temmie&egg(s). I'd put catti&jockington in the church, since catti & kris did occult shit together. Monsterkid&snowy would fit in the TV world since snowy is into stand-up comedy and monsterkid is just a Big Fan of Things which works great in a TV setting (and would make it easy to disprove this theory if they don't show up lol).

@19:29-.-I think I agree with your assessment that the waterworld is on the bottom of the prediction list. On that note, since Deltarune is clearly shaping to have themes of escapism vs accepting reality, I think it's likely that a variety of NPCs are supposed to have the own little arcs to give the message of how reality can be just as interesting as fiction, if you're willing to look into it. Catty and Bratty are the second most obvious example, since we get implications of their relationship progressing through their dialogue, but Onion-son is the most obvious example, due to reasons you've already mentioned in this video. So I think it's likely that Onion-son will form the band they've been wanting to form, with Shyren being a part of said band, and we'll see them play during the end credits. It just seems too thematically appropriate not to do it.

I personally think the lake will be a little more important than we know. Gerson is going to get attention I feel, your idea with the church having a fountain based on his novels is interesting, and in Undertale, he was an explorer. Let's not forget that hi big gimmick in Undertale was that he was a TORTOISE, often a very long living species of animals. It's very possible that he saw a LOT of things in his lifetime, including the founding of Hometown itself. To that end, it wouldn't surprise me that in learning more about Gerson's life and his novels, that we'd ALSO learn more about Hometown. Maybe we'd learn about something that's hidden underneath the waves of the lake, or deep in the forest that may relate to Dess' disappearance. Perhaps he'd have known a thing or two about the bunker, or about what certain inhabitants of Hometown have done in their lives.
Basically I'm saying: I believe Gerson is a catalyst for the history of Hometown, telling us about things that living characters wouldn't or couldn't tell us themselves.
Also, on the topic of the lake again, I'm glad you pointed out that Shyren was in the hospital during chapter 2. Would they really have hinted at some sort of singing and proceeded to put the one character known for being a singer about as far away from where the singing was at the same time? Like sure, maybe it was her, but I think it's more likely that Onionsan had heard something else. Especially since it's familiar to him somehow, which he relates to the ocean.

Firstly, the video is great, very interesting predictions raised, I really enjoyed it.
One point that wasn't considered though, is that while the timeline of the chapters makes sense as described, the way chapter 2 ended makes me think that chapter 3 could happen overnight, and chapter 4 then on Saturday during the day, the ending of chapter 3 setting up the the church with the next fountain before, or during, the vigil mass. Then, if chapter 5 happened overnight as well, then 6 could happen on Sunday, for the start of the carnival, and 7 as an epilogue and dealing with the aftermath of chapter 6, on Monday or still on Sunday.
Also, if Asriel came and stayed for the weekend, arrived on Saturday during chapter 4 and left on Monday, the climax on chapter 7 could happen in either Sunday afternoon/evening or Monday.
Anyway, really excited to play it! Hoping it will be soon 🤞

  • @FNAFman1983
    @FNAFman1983 4 месяца назад

I agree with your theories for Chapter 4 being in the church. My idea, and many others’ ideas as well, for the Chapter 3 secret boss is Asgore’s flowers, because the trash can IS pretty close to the TV and the secret boss fights usually take place in the trash areas of the Dark World, with Jevil’s taking place in the box of unused cards, and Spamton’s taking place in the main computer’s trash bin. So, having this knowledge in mind, the secret boss of Chapter 3 would likely be the trashed flowers, and the lead up could be a loose wire leading into the trash can. Then, for Chapter 4’s secret boss, I’d say it would be the hero of Gerson’s stories, because they share the same forgotten theme as the rest of them and Father Alvin might have thrown Gerson’s books in the church’s giveaway boxes to ease the grieving process. The reason why Gerson’s hero would not be the main villain is because I believe the chess theory to be true, and so Chapter 3’s villain would be the rook/TV remote, and Chapter 4’s villain would be a holy figure of some kind, obviously tying into the bishop stuff. But hey, that’s just my theory! Let me know yours in the replies!
