The Spamton Value Network stuff was made by RadioTV, the people who did Half Life VR But the AI is Self Aware, by the way! Their sense of humor is a bit of an acid trip but its great lol
The spamton cat theory since you asked has to do with the deltarune element system. The cats and spamton all use attacks with the same element number but we already knew one of them was thunder/light, as far as I know we didn’t have direct confirmation on any of the other elements, so people thought he’s either the same element as the cats, being a cat himself or the other half of the pair. People thought it was maybe cat/string, but this post by spamton seems to confirm it to be cat/puppet. As well as revealing 2 new element pairs, dark/star and death/scythe.
Those "find lost family members" organisations actually exist, although I think they're generally meant for people you've just lost contact with, not people who have actually gone missing.
^^^ this, I don't know how he misread it so badly, Noelle is the only one who opened Spamton's emails, because she was so desperate to find Dess she would try anything
@@B4K4xNi Not to dunk on 2 Left Thumbs, but in the midst of his larger-form stuff he sometimes lets pretty key details and critical readings slip through the cracks, which then ends up devolving into major fandom misconceptions-- Not a huge fan of it, but I think it comes from making these so fast
i definitely agree it comes from making stuff so fast, but honestly, if you're going to frame things as a deep dive then you need to actually have an eye for detail. it's kind of unfortunate
47:20 I don’t think it’s another entity controlling Kris to play the piano at all. After all, when they fail to play the piano in front of Susie in Chapter 2 she mentions they seem frustrated. I think Kris CAN play the piano, but since the PLAYER cannot, they sound bad when we try, and get frustrated like “I normally would be able to play way better than this if *this a-hole* wasn’t controlling me!”. There’s also piano tutorials in their search history.
The narrator says the piano is smaller and missing all the good keys, please stop throwing every minor inconvenience kris has at yourself playing the game, deltarune fandom
@@leedlelel2373you got me curious so I looked it up. If you talk to them before playing the piano, they ask if you’re there to play it and mentions that they “personally enjoy it”, implying that Kris goes there to play often and that they’re good enough to sound pleasant. Then, after we play the piano, they say, quote “Hmm… you usually play a bit more… beautifully. Is everything ok? You DO seem a little sick…” again, implying that Kris without Us, the player, can play the piano quite well and that our influence might be making them act different, or even ill. I think large part of the point of the Hometown segment in Chapter 1, as well as most of Chapter 2, is to show that Kris has feelings, thoughts and skills separate from those of the player. You see it every time you make them do something and the narration makes it a point to say they did it “reluctantly”, and every time they change intonation to show what they really mean despite what we make them say. Looking for all those little tidbits is lots of fun, and it’s large part of the reason I love the game so much :)
Spamton after not surviving is a reference to a famous picture where Steven from Steven universe got cancer and died and is sans and Sans stands for “Steven After Not Surviving”
57:36 I'm pretty sure Noelle mentioning that the glitch was mentioned in the manual as "one of the bad guy's magic spells" is a reference to Sonic 3's manual, which also refers to any situation in which you would be forced to reset the game in as one of "Robotnik's diabolical traps".
That was my first thought, too! There's also a glitch in the original Final Fantasy that would trigger if you overflowed the dungeon index by entering and exiting an internal door (primarily a ladder) 64 times without leaving the dungeon between them. A newslette waved it off as the 'eightfold curse'.
I thought it was a reference to the infamous Pac-Man Atari game where they say glitches like ghosts going through the walls are actually their secret powers
The prank caller at 36:17 seems to be Kris, going by the canon fact that Berdly and they have apparently played video games together (checking the description on Berdly's normal battle gives this information) and Kris is portrayed as a prankster before the player's arrival
The fact that this little trail of breadcrumb-sized Undertale/deltarune secrets that I've been following for 7 years has turned into a full blow ARG is so exciting!
@@ZphyZphyer Its the link at the bottom of the homepage that leads you to Noelle’s gaming secrets website where she talks about the dragon blazers site
Pretty sure "spamkey" candle is in reference to "Yankee" candles, which are popular (and overly scented) candles gifted usually in sample packs around the holidays.
I like the idea that Noelle wasn't asking if Susie likes metal music to find out more about her specifically. But actually because Noelle herself likes metal (judging by one of the songs she's listening to in her blog.)
That makes a lot of sense lol. Noelle is seemingly this stereotypical Nice Girl type, but violence turns her on (literally), she seems to be good friends with people who are kind of a dick to her and/or others (Kris, Susie, Berdly), she is really into metal... and yet she's also a scaredy cat who cried constantly as a kid and is extremely scared of mice. She's an interesting character.
I don’t know why anyone isn’t mentioning this, but the part in Noelle’s blog where Berdly says how he is great with computers and that he specifically calls out calculators and laptops is probably a reference to how Berdly is ignorant to the fact that Queen seriously dislikes him throughout chapter 2. Queen is infact a computer, more specifically a laptop or in the original idea a calculator, meaning that the entirety of that line is likely a direct reference to this.
Ok but what’s even FUNNIER about a user going by mettaton winning spamton’s corpse is that to make spamton neo he had to use a (presumably mettaton’s) discarded art, or you could say a corpse
this is really interesting as ive seen people argue that her clicking on a link for "hot female santas in your area" is the popups mixing her sapphic tendencies with her search for december holiday. i think you could interpret it either way.
This was a really interesting event. I still find it amusing that for nearly an entire day, a good chunk of the fandom genuinely believed Noelle was Spamton's mother.
@@Andrew-ww1hz Element pairs. Spamton literally confirmed that Puppet/Cat is one of the pairs in the Q&A. His Puppet element is paired with Cat, but is not Cat itself.
What convinced people Noelle was Spamton's mother? The only interaction I remember was her reading his emails and him gifting her pipis in cat petterz in response.
1:40:00 I don’t think Spamton had any role in Dess going missing, since the “hochi mama” is Noelle (as seen in the Q&A tweet where someone asks if Noelle is Spamton’s mom), and if Noelle was constantly responding to “free friend finder” emails from him, then most likely Dess was *already missing* around the time she was interacting with Spamton, and she was desperate enough to use any resource to try and find her. Also, Spamton seems to really like Noelle, and I don’t think he’d have any reason to take her sister or anything like that
I've been seeing so many people misinterpreting this one as Dess some how reading spam emails too and I'm confused where people are getting that from? It's so clear that it's Noelle responding to spam friend finder emails in an attempt to find a smidge of information about her sister.
@@alienenthusiast i think some people find it hard to read and interpret spamton's speech quirks or thought the hochi mama is an interchangeable term between the two holiday sisters - though some may have also been influenced by the theory that the holidaygirl1225 blog was dess's previously (because 12/25, december holiday) and that noelle took over it. not sure!!
So the Spamton being a cat thing is a reference to the fact that the Spamton-Damage reducing items also affect the attacks from the Tasques, implying that Spamton is also dealing cat-type damage.
To be noticed, Spamton Neo has "cat 6" wires(the green strings), has the colors of mew mew and the mysterious face that has Spamton eyes look like the cheshire cat(many Alice in Wonderland references like Queen or the teacups in the dark worlds for obvious reasons)
The conversation between Kris and Susie was really interesting, but I like to know what Kris said to susie. It was really interesting seeing how Kris acted without us.
Spamton talking about Dess somehow gave me goosebumps. Honestly the idea of poor Noelle just missing her big sister is heartbreaking. Sure it’s interesting and I love finding lore on it, but sometimes I forget just how sad it is.
I just realized the Noelle blog was set up by one of the dialogues when fighting Pop Ups in chapter 2. It says that Noelle clicked on a link for Creepy Game Glitches when attempting to close the pop ups. Toby setting that up so far in advance is amazing
23:23 yeah you were spot on those are the guys behind “Spamton A. Spamton” and “Spamton B. Spamton” both of these guys are actually RUclipsrs who do this sort of stuff A. Being WayneRadioTV and B being Baaulp! Both of them have been friends for like ages and it’s so cool seeing them here. I’m pretty sure btw the first wanted photo is one of Baaulps school photo? 😭 I think? And then the second just seems to be Wayne.
Most of the crew in charge of sound & general editing was also more of their stream team friends as credited at the end of the stream (holly, scorpy, log, etc.), they even streamed the video & went live simultaneously with the descriptions only reading "???"
Also at 30:30, the beyblade reference may in turn be a reference to their “Half Life VR but the AI is self aware” series, where the US military lures away Gordon’s AI companions with the promise of beyblades. I would say this makes more sense in context, but it really doesn’t. It is sufficiently surrounded by other nonsensical things to not be that weird comparatively, though, lol.
@@balrogdahomie i truly think that this reference as well as many others is just scorpys stream of consciousness since he is the creative director and editor, that man is an enigma, seeing those bits attempted to be analyzed and connected with the lore was pretty fun
I was asleep when it happened. Woke up to a bunch of notifications that said what had happened, I felt so sad but had actually no idea what the sweepstakes were about. After checking this video, I still am a little sad but glad I wasn’t as disappointed since only people in the US could participate.
1:39:22 It seems like the "Hochi Mama" Spamton is referring to here *is* noelle. Dess never responded to any of Spamton's emails; Noelle responded to Spamton's emails, trying to find out where December *was*.
1:09:56 That's actually probably left over velvet from Noelle's Antlers. Reindeer and other deer usually grow their antlers with a thin layer of skin on top of it and the Bone underneath. Till eventually they shed this skin off (its a little gruesome if you look it up, it's also hardcore as [$#&%].) Till they're left with boney antlers. Although usually velvet is kind of Soft and fuzzy, and not poofy and feathery, but I think it's more likey it's just Noelle's hair left in the holes, since her hair gets kind of a blonde platinum color in the Dark World.
In Kris's room, in the Queen's mansion, we can see that in their online search history are several variations of "piano tutorial". So i think they probably do know how to play the piano, and just go to the hospital or Noelle's house to practice what they learned online. (plus, it seems that when we aren't controlling them, they have a knack for it). I do think its sorta weird why they suddenly go still though.
Why are people still claiming Kris doesn’t know how to play the piano good god. Please pay attention to anything anyone has said about your main character please
@@dweebicusmaximus nooo we need there to be some random bitch ass third entity for some reason we can’t have kris be a CHARACTER hes just this games frisk!!!
nah i think it’s kris leaving that in their search history purposefully for the player since they’re frustrated they can’t play the piano while under the players control
58:00 That "glitches are just a trap" thing is a reference to the Sonic the Hedgehog manual, in which the devs stated that glitches like getting trapped in walls was "One of Robotnik's evil traps, and the only way to escape is to reset the console."
I've been seeing so many people interpreting the "Spamton do you know Dess" question as Dess some how reading spam emails too and I'm confused where people are getting that from? It's so clear that it's Noelle responding to spam friend finder emails in a desperate attempt to find a smidge of information about her sister. Plus the added point that she was the only one to respond to his emails. It's incredibly sad, she's trying every route online to find anything.
30:33 The BeyBlade bit is also a reference to another project by the team that made this video- 'Half-Life VR But the AI Is Self-Aware'. In it the character Tommy, played by Baalp (who is Spamton B in this video), has a recurring gag about him being a fan of BeyBlade.
Dude.. Kris must’ve said something hurtful as hell to make Susie run off like that after completely styling on her by blocking that apple and eating right in front of her.
The Cat Petterz 2 game that Noelle likes could be based on ‘Catz’ 3-5 (those are the games with breeding systems). It’s a game you can get on your computer that has cats that are made out of circles to give pseudo 3D animation. You can adopt and breed those cats to make mixed breeds that mash the parents traits together and there are mods available for it that use hex editing to make new breeds. There is also a ‘Dogz’ series and a ‘Petz’ series that mix them together There is also specifically a spamton mod for Petz 5, which is fun
Excellent observation and connection! Even the entire "The page cannot be found", and "...might have been removed" relate to the way she's gone missing!
@@2leftthumbs Also, earlier in the sweepstakes, the word "changed" was even misspeeled as "charged" to draw further attention to it. Pretty sure that confirms that it was the intended hint to manually retype the url as /dess instead of having any direct links to reach it.
@@eiad.8 It's just in reference to linking to a web address that used to be her full name but then got changed to her nickname without the link being updated or redirected. Used to happen all the time with old websites, and still sometimes happens today.
having been a fan of wayneradiotv and toby fox for YEARS, its safe to say i was ECSTATIC when they collabed 😭 and of course scorpy's editing put it on point
I honestly love parodies of local access TV like they did, but outside of analog horror (which is kinda its own thing) they're vanishingly few and far between.
@@Colddirector i agree!! alot of scorpy's content revolves around this type of editing so i really suggest checking his stuff out for anyone interested. the whole style really draws me in, especially as an artist who finds inspiration in such themes
One correction about the dess question, Spamton said that he only knows Dess because Noelle always responded to his Friend Finder scams, but Dess and Spamton never interacted as far as we know.
I don’t think Spamton and Mike are rivals, in the Q&A he seemed protective of Mike against a [CATHODE]’s crew. It could be the TV did something to separate Mike and Spamton
In the "d_a_m_n_y_o_u_t_e_n_n_a" link he says that everyone will pay exept Mike, adding fuel to this. From what Spamton said about Mike in his shop, he doesnt consider Mike a friend. Maybe they were buisness partners? Or maybe Mike was his biggest fan or something, considering how much he likes it when people give him money.
Something I'd like to mention is that the Spamton Values Network was made by the entire WayneRadioTV cast. All the intentional VHS effects were made by socpens, which if you go to his channel, you'll find a bunch of VHS styled videos with dark secrets in them, so he's had a ton of time working on that kind of stuff beforehand.
i think it's kind of cute how noelle ordered apple shampoo herself so kris doesn't have to bear susie bothering them about it 😭 their relationship is barely explored outside of snowgrave so these entries feel like a treat!!
@@MahNamJeff you're right, but i mean snowgrave is all anyone talks about when it comes to kris and noelle so i'm glad more attention is given to their friendship pre-deltarune :") i love the whole dynamic they have so i'll take all i can get lol
@@pressftopayfrog1050 With Noelle yes, its the route that has a focus on her. but as for kris i see them talked about a lot outside of it, mostly focusing on their situation of a heart taking control of their entire life
Sorry if you mentioned this and I missed it -- Cat Petterz 2 is most definitely a reference to Catz 2, a pc game released in 1997. It was a game where you adopt and look after cats, all of which are made of animated spheres. It was the first game in the franchise to be connected to the internet, opening the doors for modders to make their own downloadable mods for it!
Ya know, with all this in mind, and how 1997 lines up with the Lightners real lives, I'm starting to wonder what year date the events of Deltarune's playable chapters is taking place in. It must be 2010 or earlier since Noelle and the gang are still in school. ...Well, at most, maybe it's in 2012 and the game is taking place over the course of the final week before end of their universe's version of the Mayan Calendar, lining up with the potential end of the world as they know it that the story seems to be alluding to so far?
Also, Wayne used to have a reoccurring gag on stream where viewers would donate to force him to sing the DK Rap from memory. He only stopped doing it when he got it 100% correct.
1:06:35 “Spamton after not surviving” is a reference to the “Steven after not surviving”, which I think was made as a parody of game theory’s “Sans is Ness” theory
35:48 "calculators want to kiss me. Laptops love me." is a reference to Queen, as when we beat her and "wake up" there is a blue laptop on the table, representing Queen. In an unused version of the room, this laptop was originally a calculator
Pretty sure Spamton himself confirmed that Puppet and Cat just share an element pairing the Q&A (which was shown in this video). All attributes have to share a single number in the code as a pair. He also confirmed two of the other pairings, that I don't think the theorists had figured out yet, in the same answer as additional examples.
The worm on the string thing is probably another reference to Spamton being a puppet because both are controlled by strings Or maybe it’s just because worm on strings are neat and are silly little scrimblos. Who knows
i dont think kris is possessed when they play the piano. they dont play well when we control them bc theyre literally being controlled. normally they would have played something beautiful. seems just like an interest. they seem to take pride in it as a talent from how they get angry at susie when she mocks their bad playing in the hospital
Trouble Dingle was one of the songs on the Spamton music CD. This is the first time we had direct reference (by name, at least) to the Soundtest Room from Undertale. That room also had the infamous Gaster theme
925 on the Spamton 1997 locket is just the quality of silver (925/92.5% silver, also known as sterling silver). also love your deltarune/undertale lore videos!
@Gilthwixt1 to add to this, this is because the other 7.5% is usually iron, or some other durable metal, and aside from being more durable, sterling silver looks like regular silver. The same thing happens with gold, you will probably not find 24 carat gold (which is pure gold, one carat is "1/24th of the full thing"), you'll likely find 10 carat or 18 carat or whatever, with the other parts being copper or iron for different "flavors" of gold, like rose gold or white gold
53:00 Apple seeds actually don’t contain arsenic. They do however contain cyanide but not enough to kill a person unless they actively ate all the seeds from multiple apples.
1:04:23 it’s a style of puppet that you could buy at novelty gift shops with a very thin string that you can manipulate into making people believe that you have a pet worm. It’s actually a pretty dark implication in Spamton’s case.
As a fellow creative, I can relate with Toby on any personal frustrations he might have on procrastination and getting sidetracked while making stuff. While it certainly isn’t ever fun to have to wait for something, (especially with story writing as nuanced and narratively compelling as his) all of the things he releases are created with such love and care, with such a microscopic lens level of attention to detail, that it feels like taking you down on an endless rabbit’s hole of content, and with a fanbase willing and ready to share this information, who create this “public well” of knowledge; where all our ideas are allowed to affect and inform our general conclusions and expectations. Expectations that truly, honestly, feel 50/50 on whether or not will end up being accurate, leading to suspense and excitement from literally anything he releases… I hold a lot of respect for mis methods, despite my lack of patience. as I’ve grown, I have new found appreciation for any other people who like me, feel the urge to fall through wonderland, and stroll with curiosity through a small repetend, who’s repeating patterns are like the fingerprint of an individual mind, an endless yawning abyss contained within the bounds of a decimal point, full of symbols, meanings, and potential symbolic meaning, a theoretical rabbit hole that is as deep as we’re all willing to fall together, the repeating patterns and misty shadowy abstractions hinting and pointing at things that will only become completely clear in hindsight. at the end, when the only thing left to do is read the book again from a different perspective, ride the roller coaster again on a different seat, and see what we missed together.
37:55 I believe it could actually be a reference to Sims 3, where via unofficial mods and extension packs there was a chance of having a creepy glitched out monster baby and Noelle's description of the glitch matches almost perfectly with the Sims-3's one
33:45 Turns out the number generated on Berdly's username are randomly generated Also its worth mentioning that Sports manages to comment on the blog thread after Noelle locks it lmao. Jockington gets mod but not poor Berdly. 44:48 I have to guess the reason some of the later links got weird was because a lot of the community were brute forcing some of the links (someone on the Underminer discord wrote a program to try every word in the english language. It managed to find '/code' right before the sweepstakes ended lmao). For example I believe /blink was found well before its prize unlocked. Fangamer might have changed the URLs to preserve the incentive to donate. 1:40:00 Worth calling out here that Spamton is saying that it's the [hochi mama] clicking the "Friend findher" links, not Dess. I think Spamton is honest about not knowing who Dess is, just that it's a name that comes up in Noelle's searches a lot. We know from her Ch2 Dark World room she searches "December Holiday" a lot and in her earlier blog posts admits she always checks her spam emails. Not a stretch to assume these three tidbits are connected.
All of noelles private blogs give me such a weird feeling. It’s like the story is instantly so much bigger, and everything in her life was leading up to her being forced to kill berdly
Hey, on the section with Cat Petterz and the egg, that's actually a direct reference to the early 2000's series of different pet raising PC games called the Petz series by Mindscape. They had different versions called Catz, Dogz, Babyz, and even a monster version called Oddballz. The mods described remind me very much of the kinds we had back in the day. I loved that series!
It is. The series did indeed use ball sprites to render petz. Hex editing new breeds or even species in was very popular back then, especially amongst a female audience. It didn't have breeding as I recall, but that may have been somewhat lifted from another virtual pet game from around the same time, Creatures, in which norns had simulated genetics and simple neural nets. As I recall children of the norns would combine traits from both parents. It was also heavily modded, and still is to this day. It's unfortunate not many people are picking up on this despite the use of Z in the fictional post, but then again some people aren't even picking up on the Internet Explorer 404. I feel old :( Oh, also, this is gonna get ignored, but the part about the manual referencing the ice palace is probably a reference to Sonic 3, in which the manual warns you of "robotnik's diabolical traps". In reality, this is a cover for glitches that can trap Sonic inside geometry if he is going too fast, as the game was somewhat rushed and a few bugs were not fixed. It advises you to reset the console to "escape" them.
The spamtom cat theory is because the element of some of spamtom's attacks are the same as some of the cat's attacks. But in the Q&A spamtom said that the cat element also is shared with puppets
The “glitch” that Noelle mentions that the devs said was actually the bad guys magic was definitely a reference to Sega saying that the death causing glitches in Sonic 1 and 2 were actually Robotnik’s devious traps
19:10 It's hinted at on the fake December "The page cannot be found" page. The hint itself is the line: "The page you are looking for might have been removed, *had its name changed,* or is temporarily unavailable." Dess is confirmed to be short for December at this point. 34:20 Berdly's number is randomly generated and different for everyone. Only the 555 at the beginning of the number are always the same. 1:24:48 All of the prizes were disclosed in the "OFFICAL RULES" on the Spamton Sweepstakes page and the prize is, in fact, stated as: "Prize #35: 1x Jack & Sally Snowglobe with Custom Personalization (approx. value $117.39)".
Berdly's phone number was originally a static number, but it seemed to have been random or unimportant, because it was later changed to a random number to prevent people from still trying to call it (by changing the 555 area code)
1:05:05 I'm pretty sure the way Spamton's face is drawn on the belt is a reference to Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff. Especially since the description mentions falling down the stairs.
And there's another SBAHJ reference in the game before the Spamton boss fight. The "Someone left there souls, lyeing around......." bit is based on one of the comics, so I'm pretty sure that you're right about the belt being another reference. "Spamton is canonically a Dave Strider enjoyer" CONFIRMED
"you are the champ [..]" refers to the quote in sweet bro and hella eff "in my dreams, i am the star..its me" or something like that. so yeah youre right
1:09:08 I think this might be a reference to the Pink Sauce debacle, talking about expired food and selling “poison” since the sauce is always moldy after it’s shipped. Also the “so to get around the [office rules and regulations]” might also be referencing it, cause the whole “what are you talking about FDA approved? I don’t sell medical products!”
7:29 The phrase "You just got Lancered" may also be a reference to the viral troll video, "youve been gnomed", on top of them both being about getting x'ed, they both have the "Ho ho ho" laugh.
Fun fact the sound at 13:22 of the spamton sweepstakes sounds just like a slowed down version of the scream from Yume Nikki. Which is interesting considering Toby Fox definitely took inspiration from that game, particularly the character Uboa looks a lot like the mystery man sprite from Undertale.
The music played in the room where you find the tree with the man behind it in-game is actually a song Toby originally posted as Yume Nikki fan music back in the day!
This is probably a me only thing, but the Gumball machine did give me a small spook when opening the doors. The reflection on it looked like one big eye when I first saw it.
1:04:00 I think that is a reference to those old worms on string toys that kids could get, with the whole "Do magic tricks to impress your friends" thing going on back in the days.
48:24 With this line of dialog, it seems this game has the same art style of the 1995 pet simulator Catz, and its sister game Dogz, which would later evolve into the bigger Petz series that is now owned by Ubisoft.
Okay so the part of Noelles blog at 37:38 references real games!! I havent played them and only loosely remember stories about them, but they were called Catz/Dogz and depending on which game you had, you could raise either pets. As described by the post, you could modify the appearance of your pets with community made applications and a small niche community is still around making these things!
One think that was glossed over a little was the name of the "spamton after not surviving" which is in reference to a joke theory about sans standing for Steven after not surviving. Meaning that sans is Steven universe's skeleton. (Originally made as a joke soon after the sans is Ness theory came out)
43:58 Cat Petters 2 is far more likely to be a reference to Petz than Tamagotchi. Petz had pets made of circles and had fanmade cars that could interbreed with dogs
Fairly certain the Cat Petterz 2 thing may be a reference to the tumblr blog petzspamton, where someone modded their game to have spamton and other characters like him as dogs and cats. Given the era of the game and Noelle’s description of it being easy to mod but prone to corruption if you create the “wrong” kind of creature through breeding or what have you, they match up pretty well. The blog came into being well after DR2, but I could see Toby integrating spamton’s origins into a reference to a fan project like that lol
It is my personal head canon that spamtons clame to fame was creating the cungadaro, and now I’m starting to think that the cars in the ciber world are kungaderoes Now here are some of my observations One of the things for sail at the sweepstakes was “spamton after not surviving”, witch is baced off a theory called “Steven after not surviving”, witch is a theory about how Steven universe is sans Blue bubble is supposed to be red bubble Fruit cake also makes sence because it is a Christmas thing
57:36 I believe that is a reference to the sonic 3 manual, it also says that the various glitches that sonic 3 are actually "Eggman's diabolical traps"
@@PikaPenny17 no, they are "similar" elements, like how the sky manttle in the game prevents "holy" type magic, holy is a mix of lighting and light, it has both, so they are more of a "different but equal duo" i would guess
Ehh, I doubt it. Maybe they’ll be connected, but I doubt the secret boss is anywhere in the Sweepstakes, I think the one poem bit from the stream talking about the next secret boss was supposed to poke fun at the fact that there isn’t any actual reveal. I think they’ll probably be either just regular enemies (it is rude Buster playing in the background, same as the shadowmen) or smaller mini bosses, similar to Sweet Cap’n Cakes or Tasque Manager. Interesting about the thunder/lightning idea though, the designs definitely match up.
31:51 the spamton on the wall is digitally edited in, you can see when the camera moves at the end of the shot. It lags behind slightly So yay they didn’t vandalize it!
Thanks for the video! The hex breeding for the pets on Noelle’s blog is actually a reference for the Catz game too. There was an extremely committed community around it in the 90s, and it was a really nostalgic reference for me!
29:46 I think of Sonic X with Eggman just grabbing a random banana and saying “OH! I was just about to consume this delicious banana!” Then devours it whole. “Tasty!”
Leave it to TwoLeftThumbs to be the ultimate deep dive into everything that happened! Not gonna watch this yet cus I was busy during the sweepstakes and only had time to look at a couple things, and gonna be making my own vids on it, so no spoilers! But definitely coming back here to see anything I may have missed! Always excited to see your analysis and reasoning.
Is it just me or did the Spamton Sweeptakes suddenly make me want to be online friends with these goofy ahh fictional characters? The quirky posts from Noelle, Berdly and Jockington made me thing "DAMN! They seem like cool people I wanna be friends with them-"

I think Kris CAN play the piano, but since the PLAYER cannot, they sound bad when we try, and get frustrated like “I normally would be able to play way better than this if *this a-hole* wasn’t controlling me!”. @@tsukihimeyfan no, he says they USED to play much more beautifully, this interaction only happens after you "play" the piano
This was a really interesting event. I still find it amusing that for nearly an entire day, a good chunk of the fandom genuinely believed Noelle was Spamton's mother.

33:45 Turns out the number generated on Berdly's username are randomly generated
Also its worth mentioning that Sports manages to comment on the blog thread after Noelle locks it lmao.
I feel old :(
Oh, also, this is gonna get ignored, but the part about the manual referencing the ice palace is probably a reference to Sonic 3, in which the manual warns you of "robotnik's diabolical traps". In reality, this is a cover for glitches that can trap Sonic inside geometry if he is going too fast, as the game was somewhat rushed and a few bugs were not fixed. It advises you to reset the console to "escape" them.
I didn't know about the Spamton Sweepstakes until after it was over, so I was hoping someone would go over the whole thing. Glad it was you!
The hint itself is the line: "The page you are looking for might have been removed, *had its name changed,* or is temporarily unavailable."
Dess is confirmed to be short for December at this point.
@@StrumstarHammer they also made it too long to be a valid phone number, so that someone doesn't accidentally dial an existing fictional number.
@@kevinm5940 555 is SPECIFICALLY not used as a phone number irl. Ever. Fiction uses it for that reason
1:12:43 This may have been mentioned already, but "925" is in reference to the purity of the silver used in making the locket.
The Pebble is also a reference to Griffin McElroy, much like Pipis is! The Pebble was one of his Monster Factory monsters.
SWEET BRO AND HELLA JEFFFFFF
"you are the champ [..]" refers to the quote in sweet bro and hella eff "in my dreams, i am the star..its me" or something like that. so yeah youre right
45:00 I just think the double kris is a reference to spamton’s name having spamton twice
1:09:08
I think this might be a reference to the Pink Sauce debacle, talking about expired food and selling “poison” since the sauce is always moldy after it’s shipped.
Yeah me too
Prunsel?
1:04:00 I think that is a reference to those old worms on string toys that kids could get, with the whole "Do magic tricks to impress your friends" thing going on back in the days.
48:24 With this line of dialog, it seems this game has the same art style of the 1995 pet simulator Catz, and its sister game Dogz, which would later evolve into the bigger Petz series that is now owned by Ubisoft.
I noticed that too
Okay so the part of Noelles blog at 37:38 references real games!!
(Originally made as a joke soon after the sans is Ness theory came out)
Also the "925" on the locket means that it's actually made of sterling silver lmao
1:06:53 I think this a reference to the Fangamer Spamton plush video, where they dumped milk on him and slammed him against the wall.
It is my personal head canon that spamtons clame to fame was creating the cungadaro, and now I’m starting to think that the cars in the ciber world are kungaderoes
Now here are some of my observations
One of the things for sail at the sweepstakes was “spamton after not surviving”, witch is baced off a theory called “Steven after not surviving”, witch is a theory about how Steven universe is sans
Blue bubble is supposed to be red bubble
Fruit cake also makes sence because it is a Christmas thing
Why is bro’s spelling getting fragmented slowly
57:36
I believe that is a reference to the sonic 3 manual, it also says that the various glitches that sonic 3 are actually "Eggman's diabolical traps"
1:42:00 "[Thunder/Light]" The weather always sticks together. They're the Chapter 3 secret boss. EZ
Oh my god, if theyre opposed elements, does that mean you have to make them fight each other?
@@PikaPenny17 no, they are "similar" elements, like how the sky manttle in the game prevents "holy" type magic, holy is a mix of lighting and light, it has both, so they are more of a "different but equal duo" i would guess
Electric/Holy = "Ten" (Japanese) = Tenna = Antenna = TV
What makes you think that?
It lags behind slightly
So yay they didn’t vandalize it!
21:36 This is a parody of the PSA that warned about a Burger King PokéBall that had been recalled because it had accidentally suffocated infants.
Thanks for the video! The hex breeding for the pets on Noelle’s blog is actually a reference for the Catz game too. There was an extremely committed community around it in the 90s, and it was a really nostalgic reference for me!
9:15 - the very tiny but cool thing about this is that you can even see the reflection in the weather woman's glases
Feel like I see you on every video I watch. Just the other day I saw you on a lemon demon video and some others and now here
Is it just me or did the Spamton Sweeptakes suddenly make me want to be online friends with these goofy ahh fictional characters?
The quirky posts from Noelle, Berdly and Jockington made me thing "DAMN! They seem like cool people I wanna be friends with them-"
46:00 i think that kris CAN play the piano, but the Player can not. So, ghats why we can’t play the piano, but the nurse and noelle both know kris to be able to play it.
1:07:14 I’m pretty sure the name “Spamton after not surviving” is a reference to the Steven after not surviving shitpost theory.
I’m so excited you made this, I was waiting for it!! You singlehandedly fueled my deltarune hyperfixation when chapter 2 came out, and now you’re fueling me through the second bout of it!!
THIS. im getting a spamton plushie now!!
47:01 I mean it's possible that Kris simply took piano lessons not at home. Pianos are really expensive so it's not unusual for a student to directly go to the teacher's house to use theirs
23:14 Those are Baaulb and Wayne, two members of Radio TV Solutions, who are best known for the video series, "Half-Life but the AI is Self Aware," and are in fact the two actors.
30:26 This is a inside refference to that aforementioned Half-Life series, where a character, played by Baaulb, was obsessed with them, with "Let it rip!" being used as a sudo battle cry at one point.
26:00 the picture of that ball pit that Toby uses is actually from Tumblr's infamous failed DashCon
