These should appear on the M more often. Bringin’ back the good ol days when R143’s ran on the M, even if it was just the weekend shuttle service on myrtle Avenue back then.
Not possible now due to CBTC.

Rare Catch! This is the 4th Time this train has been running on the (M) since 2005
The r143 ran on the M shuttle back in late December 2002
R143 cars is so nice on the M. The M should get a set of r143's because its kind of boring having 100% r160a's all the time

Sohat Bhuyan Easier for maintenance so that the yards can maintain as few car types as possible. They also want consistent and uniform fleet assignments.
TheRailLeaguer yes I understand that. I'm just saying after 8 years of seeing R160s on the M is kind of lame. Its like the E. Lines like the J and Z are fun to ride bc there is a variety of sets. But I understand the MTA has to do what they have to do to keep costs low.

The only time I remember back when the M line was using the R143s is when it's a shuttle train to and from metropolitan myrtle/broadway.

TheRailLeaguer. Maybe 3, 4, swap out some R160s for 5 of them
Pretty sure this is due to the refurbishment/SMS of the 4-car East New York Yard R160A-1 train sets, which includes new arrow mats, new interior LED tube lighting and yellow stanchions. IDK if it’s possible the rest of the 4-car East New York R160A-1 train sets may get LCD side window screens too as well, but it may happen

Wait even if the M train as the R143 it still as 8 cars
N,Q,W probably will receive some R211s 🤔 but we have to wait and see idk about the R68s that are retiring in 2025 probably getting replaced by R160,R179, or maybe receive some R211s.
This R143 unit is probably here because of a damaged R160 train set, I would have never thought that I would see and R143 off the J or L lines, oh and we all get startled by the obnoxiously whistle these trains sound

The M train has recently getting a lot of rare G.O.s, like the R143 and R179 M train, and the M trains going via the 2nd Avenue Subway. Speaking of which, did you catch the M trains going via the F and Q lines?
The M via 2nd Avenue is not a rare catch, as it has happened on some weekends before.

Yes they weren't crowded like that when they ran to 9th ave and Bay Pkwy. Since it's now one seat ride from 6th Avenue to the Broadway line in Brooklyn yeah it's very crowded they might want to consider running the M to 96th Street on weekends with full crews.
Michael Scott M service to 96th Street will be the plan for the L train shutdown to replace L train service in Manhattan.
it mostly crowded between W 4th street all the way to Court Square because it mostly in the most visited area and plus the E Train helps out the M train
This train will not be on the J M L and Z for long
It will be used to provide extra service on the G and will run as the G train
The g train is a 4 car train
When The L is shutdown they need to add an extra 4 cars to existing trains and add 7 more 8 car trains to pick up passengers who have been displaced from the L to the G during the shutdown who need a lift to the 7 train
also R142As will be added to the 7 to pick up the extra passengers when L service into manhattan is suspended in both directions for 1 and a half years

joan morales the way it works is that the N/Q/W is sending most of its R160s to the E/F/R, and in return the N/W are getting R46s, and the Q gets R68/As from the B and G, while the B gets R42s and the G gets R32s from the J.
R42 has to go on the m line and r32
