A compilation of scenes from the J and M lines in Williamsburg during the PM Rush hour.
Taken on December 1st, 2015. - Авто/Мото
that C and J/Z swap did good
God I love those R-32s... Nice horns too. I hope they can stay around for a while longer so I can ride them and see them just once...
Well they got replaced on the j line in 2019 by the r179
Lucas Mossman They were put back on J and Z route.
this aged like a fine wine
0:57 the sign just flips back around
The sign got spanked by the wind lmfaooo
+Dj Hammers That sign at 0:58 though XD
Mashdash LOL
Jeremy Zorek a ghost lol
Lol
Was thinking just the same thing, LOL.
R143 Z train?
R143 door chimes sound a lot clearer especially at 1:45
From 2 years How did I find this comment
I miss 9 train is me rayan
Those R-32s and 42s look great. :)
Love the 32s i remember when they were on the E and 44s and the 38s ruled 8th ave memories...
lucky you...I wasn't a 90s / 80s kid...meh....
fun fact: the way my parents took me home after i was born was by mta...and it was the train I take the least...,the L...
I might not be a 90s / 80s kid but I have my first train memory!
LinesEM what a sad day r142a 6 train there normal
im so sad they remove r142a 6 train
@@alanramirez4606 So sad that got rid of the redbirds on 2/5 lines
Alan Ramirez they were actually R188’s
That's my line! I'm glad it's the one with the most variety of fleet. As always, excellent video Dj Hammers!
Your videos have markedly improved and are a joy to watch.
I missed a brown M train who's with me
Me
Me
I miss R42 R40M and R40 don’t brown M
Me me me me me me me me me
Same when I was younger I saw the Brown M when I went to school.
21:57
4:30 all those green lights before the
Superb video coverage of all the EL and Subway trains DJ! :o)
+Larry R Wendell Jr Thank you so much!!!!
Its said that the r42's and the r32's are still on this line. Its also sad that the mta still cannot get the r179's to replace the old, rusting, and aging rolling stock on the J, Z, A, and C lines.
Simon Ignatovsky The R32's are coming off the C, and East New York seems to have a bunch of R42's lying around.
Light up rollsign at 14:25
+Dj Hammers Quite impressive arcing on the third rail! The only time I've seen more sparks is in a video of an elevated subway during a blizzard.
+Jeremy Zorek yeah, I thought it was pretty cool too!
Jeremy Zorek
Jeremy Zorek
hi
Jeremy Zorek Is My J Train Wings Is Know For is not a M Train Bowery Bilzzard is only the best first city to Time To.
This is probably the first video I’ve watched on DJ Hammers
I love trains
5:05 Overrun?
R32 & R42’s are the only trains catching my eyes here 🤩
So much arching happing on those tracks! Wow!
+Sal P Yup! Thats what happens when the third rail gets wet.
Only 222 of the 600 R32 cars are still running today. I rode on the J train back in December after Christmas 2017, and it consists of R42 cars. Only 50 of those cars are still running. I always like riding in the very first car so I can look ahead. Only the R32 and the R42 cars will enable you to look ahead, but you have to stand up for the whole ride. All other trains in operation have full width cabs meaning that chances of looking ahead from the first car are very SLIM.
I loved this when i was younger
nice great work
Jamaica Nassau Brighton at 10:05. Nice catch!
R-32 Forever!
Love your use of tele-compressed perspective as trains enter curve. That can't be a subway horn at 5:17, can it? Pretty exciting arcing from the R32 train departing station at 5:46!
@VERNONBLVJSCSONAVUNE On the 7 train and 6 train Of course - Thanks!
R143 Z TRAIN!!!😲😲😲
The r143 (I think) at the beginning kinda sounds like a type 8 on Boston 's MBTA Green Line.
Jared Wang I think it’s the same traction system. R143 J/Z trains are odd and not sure why there on the J/Z maybe they got tired on the L so they want to go to another line for a change.
wow a really like the spark ! !
I looove chambers st station!
Great footage!!!
+LadyLightRail Thanks so much! Be sure to share the link to the video and encourage others to subscribe!
+Dj Hammers i will do just that but im new to this area so but will keep that in mind.
+Dj hammers Good afternoon how are you at J M Z Train Bowery station here?
Nice Video!
+DiverT LightSwitch Thanks so much!!! I really appreciate it.
Be sure to share the link with others so they can see it!
All the cars on the R32 are married pairs, but there were a few mismatches. Here are a few: 3444-3777, 3445-3468, 3469-3592, 3548-3593, 3503-3600, 3502-3905, 3559-3904, 3617-3776, 3520-3891, 3383-3890, 3421-3558, 3420-3645, 3382-3831, etc. Ok, I know a few more, but that's enough.
do they run more days or nights.. the R-32 and r 40M
The R42s are history
I was positive once the MTA got rid of the 9 train the Z train would get the ax next. But it looks like it's still running strong
does the R143 have the R142A motor
I would love to see the R42’s on the R Line, and some R46’s on the J/Z. I mean c’mon the R46 needs fresh air! 🤷♀️
If you want to see the R46s on fresh air, you can take the A trains (and sometimes the F!)
Its because of the A train the r46's need fresh air, Its the longest line, And from Grant Av Queens and 207th st Inwood terminal its all inside
Doesn't matter anymore, the R46sare off the R and on the N/W and select Q trains.
R46 can't run on the J/Z. The platforms aren't long enough and the curves are too tight
Far rockaway is fresh air
Those old trains really used the same motors used on the R68/As.
Nice footage, DJ!! BTW, it takes real acceleration to knock that Tresspass sign back to its original position at 0:58!
This happens every single time at several stations. Is it not normal?
+Edwin Martinez Vazquez It's just air forced by the train moving the sign. Not a big deal.
Dj Hammers Right, that's why he confused me.
+Dj Hammers Is this Your Longest Video?
R42 IS MY FAV
Has that Green Line "T" sound & Feel
at 4:20
I love the sounds to buddy
Outra coisa o povo americano, não é favelado como esse povinho brasileiro orgulhoso.
At 5:05 was that the horn of a R32?? Because that sounds real nice
I think the Mta could've given us buffs a mix consist of 32s/42s before they were retired. They did b4 I'm JS
21:28 R32’s look amazing in the tunnel omg
Were the r143s meant for the (L) only? Just saying because of the strip maps inside the cars
Anthony Initially They were, But can cover service on any line from East NY Yard if they please.
Nice video
+ThebusofdoomFSX Thanks! Be sure to share the video and encourage others to subscribe to my channel!
Dude I hope I will get 8,000 Subscribers
If there’s one thing I still don’t understand is what is Nassau st? I have never seen it at any stations ever and now J/Z say Jamaica Exp/Jamaica local so what and we’re is Nassau st?
9:42
Good footage. 6 train at rush hour or 2 and 5 would be cool as well. If you can
+vsizzle Will do!!!
The R32's are Saturated along the J/Z lines. They also look better that the R42's. It seems like they dont up keep the R42's as much as the R32.
This is really neat
+rafael asuncionXD (broniesrock285)Thanks man!
+Dj Hammers what are you girl or boy
+Dj Hammers why is the z train on r143s?
United Airlines Fan United airlines There are surplus R143s so the J/Z is running a few.
+Alfredo Phillips he is a man
Idk why when I was exploring Essex on Friday, a R160 Z train just popped up on the downtown track heading to Broad Street around 3:00, anyone know why?
+Chad M (CMShaddix) In the afternoon, Z trains start at Broadway Junction and run local to Broad St, where they start their Jamaica-bound express run.
+Dj Hammers oh ok, so it's actually really common to find a Z train
+Dj Hammers does that mean vice versa for the morning commute?
thse R32s look great
Wow R143 Z train ok i have a question for you
Oh, I forgot and the R38's!
Wow howling R32's
What was that noise at 5:06
+Sharon Watkins It was from a truck below the tracks on the street.
Jade, Marie and Zelma. 🥰
So why did the R32 honk?
Is it me or does the J line need 3rd rail replacement?
+ADAM MARS It's normal for the third rail to spark when it is raining.
Exactly so many sparks
Rudy Escobar GTFO! IM fucking blocking you. Goddamn stalker!
Q
ADAM MARS uh. If you block him he can't chat on your channel but on somebody's else's channel he can chat
rare R42!!!
the J and Z couldn't be perfect with out an R38
my mta vids are mostly on myrtle Avenue
+A.G. bonnie/Rios Cool!
They are old the tracks are wet and they arent used to being on the elevated tracks unless its the J train
Dj Hammers At J M Z Train is Railroaded Here??
Wow
I haven't taken the Z in years, and the last time I saw it they were still running R40s.
+Edwin Martinez Vazquez I don't remember the Z ever running R40s. The M line did run R40s in the weeks after 9/11 though.
Dj Hammers Are you sure? Maybe I'm confused, I was little then. It might have been the J.
+Edwin Martinez Vazquez You are right. The J was running R40M around 2003-ish
Yes, R40Ms did run on the J/M/Z lines in the early 2000s. Except for that time they ran on the M after 9/11, R40 Slants didn't run on those lines.
I like Z train because it runs skip-stop, express or local!
0:26 The R143 (Z) train was barrowed from the (L) Line
Dj Hammers, are the R32's annoying sometimes when they screech to a brake?
+Kenyan Ward To some people they are, but it doesn't bother me too much.
Are the R32's and 42's still running on the New York subway lines?
R42s were retired, and as of right now, there are R32s on the J and Z lines. The ones on the C are getting replaced by R179s
@@phoogle2794 Thanks for your reply. I'm terribly sorry I missed the R42's before they were retired. I will have to make a special trip to NYC to ride the 32's. I still can't believe that they outlasted the 40M's, the 40S, 42"s and the 44's! The 32's are by far the greatest model ever made !
@Devol Morris Thank you for the info on the R32's/42's. I must come to NYC to ride the Rail fan windowed trains one last time!
@Devol Morris You got it!!!!!!! I plan to come up next spring. Keep me posted on the R42's and I will be glad to pay you the money.
I love the R143 sound but as the 2nd Z was pulling in the R160 N outside my house ruined it
+SoCraftSliders one thing is...no one complains about the ORIGINAL r142...not 142a...and literally all NYC trains that came before the r142-r143s had the same " increase pitch and loudness* propulsion.
r143 sound like r142a/r188
+Jeremy Zoerk Hi good afternoon how are you?
The sounds sound like the marta trains
Hi
Man Rip the R42 and the R32
3:01 R160A-1 M Train
U know that there was a spark on the rail 7:18
is the J/Z line mostly R32s?
+Phillip Thomasse It's around 80% R32s.
+Dj Hammers
I'm an outsider "looking in" so to speak because I don't live in NY, but it seems at one time that the Broadway/Nassau line had a lot more R160s with a few R42s in the mix. Why the shift to so many R32s and so few R160s?
+TheChicagoL The R32s were mostly moved to the J line so they can run outside. Their air conditioning units do better on the outdoor lines.
wasn't that supposed to be for the summer only? or is it permanent now?
It is permanent until further notice, as it is too much of a hassle to keep swapping the cars back and forth when the seasons change.
i was wondering if people on the line even care about having rolling stock
RIP R32 and R42 trains
the z train is very loud.
Oh and actually why they took the r42 away
The r42s were in the poorest condition of the entire subway
@@youngmoonyohnj1099 oh
JG.
1:44
it looks rare
Always stop except for rush hours
Why the J/Z always the most dirty and runned down with stations?
+Chad M (CMShaddix) Not sure. There are some J/Z stations that are very nice and clean, like recently rebuild stations between Myrtle and Marcy Ave.
+Dj Hammers I would really have the Broad, Fulton, Chambers, Bowery, Canal and Essex stations redone, like fully replace the walls and ceilings and lighting. Chambers is the one that has an opportunity for an extreme makeover
Why do the Z trains make thst noisr
9
how did they get an L train via the Z?
+Yolpho Lofty The L and J/Z lines are connected at Broadway Junction by two tracks.
Ah.No wonder it's called a junction.
The J has a boring express run
14:23 Seriously it's a J not a Z train
It might be a mistake.
Exploratorium Inn Official ya i know i don't know why i said it so weirdly
+Sonic Craft 4000 Thanks man
YOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
