- An incident on the L line led to extra M trains being operated to handle the riders displaced from the L line to the M line. One of these trains was an R143! Very unusual. Thanks to fellow RUclipsr and friend Tech and Transit ( / rjacknyc ) for the heads up that this was running!

I should give the M line the nickname "The Boomerang Line" since it goes back to the same NYC borough all over again.
And if queenslink it will be just like london’s circle line ( a spiral)
r143's should run on the M more often, leaving the L trains with the r160's. If so, they can also use r179's on the L.
SonicFan '91 The L will remain with the R143s for the meanwhile and the M will have 59 4-car sets for the Queens Blvd line.

nah prob because the line is not really ATL ready and they need them on the L more than they do on the M
this only happens due to a incident on the L like the vid description says I wish the R143s where on the M I really do and on other lines it would be badass no R160s in sight lol

Must've been a day for transit. First time hearing about this fire. I was on my way to school in the morning (on the C) when a call came in saying there was suspicious activity of an unauthorized person on the tracks ahead of us at Hoyt-Schemerhorn. The A was next to us, and all Manhattan bound service was haulted for like 10 minutes.

@@DJHammersTrains mysteriously, R179 J and Z trains are taking off the Nassua Street Local Line. Whether it's true or not, they're still operating on the A and C line. One time I rode the R143 M train when I was a kid. I didn't discover what happened.

I've never seen an r143 on the m line before. I remember when they had r42 trains on the m line. And I think I've seen a train of r42 cars on the l line years ago, can't remember the date though.
R46 M Train needs to exist

I have a hunch...that once the L train line's long term construction project starts, we'll most likely be seeing a lot more of these R143's make their long awaited return to the M line.

I have ridden on the Green Line "T" in Boston. So I recognize the Sound of trains departing stations on the L Train & M Line.
Search Up R142A, they have the same sound

This is somewhat like the 2/5 with R142As, with the difference being that the M was more or less assigned these cars for use at some point.
If we just had the V train then most of this would taken care of via the V line.

They do, nowadays they are just very uncommon
I propose the new subway car called the r143a which would have no flags with the supreme wrapping would have the open gangways but with a door between the gangways and it would run on the MJZ and L trains

I was getting off of work and for once at around 10 o'clock there was actually six f/m trains that came back to back into the station... I guess I know why now

An R143 Orange (M) Train Is Quite Exclusive. They Normally Operate The (L) Train. In 2015, 2 Of Them Got Swapped To Operate On The (J) Train. Also, They Did Operate The (Z) Train. At Least The R160A Orange (M) Trains Are Not A Bad Fit.

A little taste of what's to come in 2019 for a year & a half. They'll likely put more trains on the M & G trains to help commuters in Williamsburg & Bushwick get to Manhattan. Take the J train to the FiDi & the M train to midtown.

The R143s were issued in less than a decade ago early 2000's for the L line as I can remember. in the time before the M train received the high technology trains R160 and the MTA is going to have the M line with the R170 but since then while the M is a shuttle on weekends they were using the R143s.

What is a difference between a R143 and R160 same with R142 and R188?
I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing the R160 is an upgraded R143.
xxflamexx flame r160 has the LED strip maps. The r143 doesn't and has a strip map just like the r142 on the number lines. Also I noticed the the doors on the trains where you open to go to the next car are different. Re L train has one door that you slide open while the r160 has like 2 doors that you open from the center.

I think the NIS R143 you caught a Mytrle was the R143 set that went to the (M)

I Even Caught An R143 (M) Train I Was So In Shock And I Was Like The Last Time In Rode This Was Back In Late January 2008.
If I were part of the MTA I would really suggest running R188s on the 5 line. (R188 5 trains) do you agree? or what do you think

R188s are only part of the 7 line because they are equipped with CBTC and they wanna automate the line like the L.
