I know it's a life sim, so everyone thinks, "life sim = similar to The Sims". I don't see that at all. My first thought was that this is Stardew Valley in reverse - country to city, instead of city to country. My second thought is that the game this is most like in features is actually InZoi. It's set in a city, it has cars that can run you over, and active careers, it seems like every building is enterable and interactable, similar to InZoi. Already it has a LOT more features than just The Sims 4. Nothing like The Sims at all really, except that they are both life simulators. The most accurate comparison, though is that this and Little Sim World (coming out on Steam at the end of the year) are very, very similar - these two will be direct competition. But we can get both. This one very soon and Little Sim World at the end of the year, while we wait for Paralives and InZoi. 🙂
I think I did a reasonable job at pointing out the things that reminded me of Sims and the things that reminded me more of Stardew Valley or an RPG. Since Sims is the original life simulator, it is very hard to weed out the difference between something being life sim genre and similar to sims. it would be a bit like saying that all the farming games are nothing like Harvest Moon, when in fact the entire genre is based on that game.
The jobs and traits and moods are all very similar, the idea of having dreams and aspirations and the way it is implemented is also very Sims 3/4.
Funny enough, the cars and outside world reminds me more of the first couple of GTA games, when they were top-down rather than 3D.
So many cozy games coming, demos and early access. I can’t choose. lol
It's amazing how it's taken decades for The Sims to get any real competition, and now suddenly there's a bunch of them coming out all at once.
45:00: You can be a landlord in Sims 4 as of a recent expansion, but I haven't played with it yet so don't know how it would compare.
I have always loved sim games, but struggled to get any traction with The Sims, probably because there are so many huge channels out there that were established way before me. Maybe if I get in early enough on some of these new games I will get to play the genre a bit more, or maybe the big Sims channels will drown me out again, we will have to see!

It’s reminds me of Habbo! It was an online game from the early 2000s. I’m soooo excited for this game omg, I never got to play habbo bc it was online & I was too young and didn’t have internet for most of my childhood. I’m soooo excited to play this!
This looks so cute and fun! It kinda reminds me of World Neverland on Switch mostly due to the fact that you can explore the map and see lots of other people around you which makes the game's world feel more "alive".
I think it’s fair to start with a totem of return, because when you die , you have to get it back or suffer permadeath. If they make us wait until we get the uncommon workbench to make it ourselves, that would be a little harder to do.
Since you had time before your first day on job, you could have used the business restroom to help with that.
This reminds me so much of The Urbz or The Sims Bustin Out. It's like a long-overdue spiritual successor and I can't wait!

Wow Shelab, how many times did a car hit you? This game really does like it’s details for it’s character. Really you got to go to the bathroom or you need to take a shower 😅. It is a crazy game. And I like it 😂 💐

Yeah, I was being very silly there! But on the bright side we got to explore a lot more shops while I was running around looking for it!
to be honest, i dd not see the questmarker for the storage either, every time you opnened the map i was asking myselfe where the hell it is.
that you can activate points of interest is a nice touch, all in all this game looks fun

The quest marker looked like a bridge with water to each side so my brain discarded it as a landscape feature rather than a marker. Stupid scumbag brain!

This looks great and initially I thought 60 hours was a lot but then it wasn’t
I knoew from the get go that 60 hours would be nothing. A lot of games give 10 days for a demo, this one gives less than 3. But the fact that the 3 days took me over an hour shows the scope of the game.
Its like if they put sims on the gameboy color.

Imho, demo is too short. And working as a waiter sucks (edit: especially since I have a french azerty keyboard and no way to do keybinds)

I'm surprised with all your experience with the sims and expecting to actually play through your work day and your income impacted by tips that you didn't use your knowledge of the sims to rest, eat, bath, use the restroom and everything else to improve your sims conditions before starting work since you had plenty of time but instead of preparing for your 4pm-11pm shift you walked around trying to meet people while tired, dirty and in all around bad conditions for interactions.
Honestly, I think it is the pressure of knowing I have extremely limited time. I don't think the Sims ever limited me to 60 hours in game! In a more relaxed setting I would probably go slower and take care of needs more.
