Depression leeches joy out of your life and can turn things you love into distant memories. That's not you or the thing you love. Depression blocks your true perception. Go do something different for a while. I recommend a walk in the woods while listening to Gavin's music, but that's just off the top of my head. Depression is an illness like any other, but like mist chronic illnesses, coping mechanisms tend to be different from person to person and even change based on the day. Sometimes I need the woods. Sometimes I need to create art. Sometimes I need a video game, or a hug, or ice cream, or to see a small child look at something I made and go "Wow!" Something that may help, at least to know you're not alone, is an article I wrote a while back explaining what depression is like. thecatholicgeeks.com/2015/06/18/a-look-inside-depression/
NileonMatter Depression will always make it seem like you'll never get better. Like I said, it's an illness. When you have a cold, you probably feel like it'll never end. And that's a small illness. Depression is chronic. It's always lurking like something alive. It's not, but sometimes it's helpful to visualize it as something you can fight. I've gotten to the point that I can recognize, even deep in depression, that what I'm feeling is probably false. When I come back out, which might be in a few hours or two months, it'll seem obvious that it was all an illusion. But when it's there, it's more real that what I can touch.
I'm a simple man. I see a notification from Miracle Of Sound, I click it. But in all seriousness, this truly is a work of art. I really liked the way it seemed to capture the solemn majesty of space while keeping the intensity of the game.
My favourite thing about Gav's music is that when we hear a song like this we're not just hearing music and words. We're being taken on an odyssey to an amazing place where our favourite stories and worlds are immortalised through song. And that to me is the amazing thing of all.
Crucible was so brilliant that on subsequent replays of ME3, I'd always get confused why I couldn't hear it when I'd reach the Crucible in-game. Seriously, put it alongside the actual soundtrack and I dare you to say it doesn't fit seamlessly.
Up to this moment i was like "nah, this song is good, but not a genius. there is not even a ME atmosphere". As soon as I heard familiar notes, i just thought "yes, this is still about Mass Effect". And tried to not cry to the whole end of the song.
Having not yet played Andromeda (no XB1 / PS4 or a PC capable of running it yet), I can't comment on how this relates to the actual game. I'm not even looking at the video itself in case of (unintentional) spoilers. What I *will* say, however, is how amazing this song feels to me: I adore the callback to Crucible, the instantly catchy riffs and chorus, the synthy-ness (that is a word) and subtle ME1 theme melody - it's like a love letter to the entire Mass Effect series and we lucky few who happen to be fans (of ME and MoS). Gav, you are without question a musical genius and it is criminal that you're not more well-known and receiving the attention you clearly deserve. I'm pretty much guaranteed to be a fan for the rest of my life. Major Kudos to you, sir, and may you keep on rockin'!
I hear bits of Crucible and bits of the main theme from ME1, and it all blends together into a beautiful whole. Gets me excited for the time when I can actually afford a machine that can run the game. Excellent song as always, Gav.
"Ryder, you have AVP Outstanding." New perk: Entertainment pods. "Receive the occasional morale boosting soundtrack from Milky Way artist 'Miracle of Sound.'"
I didn't play the original Mass Effect trilogy until pretty late, about 2014. By then all of Gav's phenomenal Mass Effect series songs were out and I enjoyed the hell out of them. With Mass Effect 3 being my favorite game of all time, songs like Take It Back and Crucible had become as much a part of my Mass Effect experience as the game itself. And since I've finished, I feel like I'd left behind some great memories of the crew and adventures of those games. When that Crucible sting hit at 2:51, I was right back there on the Citadel with all those friends again, tearing up from the happy memories. From the bottom of my heart, thanks Gav. Never stop being amazing.
At this point I'm genuinely confused why game publishers haven't picked up Gav to do their trailers for them. He'd probably charge pennies compared to their 'big budget marketing team', and he can make even the shittiest games look incredible. I'm pretty sure if he did a song for bad rats it'd be on the top of steam best-sellers by the end of the day.
I just know that if I was making a game, I would give him early access and ask for some sweet tunes for the game. or something along those lines. this guy is a genius
problem is the corporations tend to think they know best and interferes instead of paying Gav what he asks for upfront and letting him do his thing which would probably mean it is completed more quickly and with better quality
Let's take a moment to see the minutia of this song. The chorus throughout the whole thing goes. "Into the great unknown The stars light up the stones We’re carried ever onward Upon a hope of home Oh oh oh oh " As the chorus is sung one last time it changes, a small change, but a powerful one. "Into the great unknown The stars light up the stones We carry ever onward Upon a hope of home Oh oh oh oh " *We carry ever onward". No longer is it "we're carried", but "we carry". It changes from someone who simply goes along, to someone who moves, and changes things. We're could mean we are, or we were. It's about how Ryder went from following his/her father, being carried onward by the pathfinder, to being that pathfinder. Ryder is now carrying humanity into the great unknown. Gav's songs always reference things in a good way. He puts in musical references to previous songs in a series, and he puts in references to the game lore. It's rarely obvious, but it really shows these aren't just pumped out, they're things that take commitment, and care about something to make.

The club music for Andromeda was pretty unique it wasn't from other EA titles, the ones I am mainly talking about is Staggered Injection and Callista the music played in the upper level of Afterlife in ME 2 and I believe the lower level soundtrack was from Need for Speed games. All of the ones for Andromeda the developers asked some artist to do tracks for the nightclubs my favorite personally is Proton Bells by Koba.

Despite we never encoutered each other, i truly consider you, Gav as one of my closest friends - your songs always make me feel better and brighter. Thanks for everything))
I absolutely adored the game, and I am SO glad you liked it enough to be inspired to do a song about it. It's been out for a while now, but only now have I been able to play it. And now I can at last listen to this song. So, while late to the party, I applaud you.
some people were disappointed by this game but I still really like it regardless of their opinions about it. there were a lot of bugs and glitches but I'm playing it now and the patches that they've done have really taken care of most of them.
My problem isn't the gameplay. My problem is the completely nonsense writing and the complete lack of common sense anyone in the Initiative showed. Like, the Initiative was handed an Idiot Ball.
One of the things i always look forward to in these type of songs is the throwback to your earlier songs of the game franchise. I love the use of Crucible in this.
Gavin, you are an amazing artist. I think your song "amnesia" is one of the best, simply because I related so much to it. Thank you for what you do! You're amazing!
There is a title/job that is not used much these days and that is Bard. For those that are not sure or don't know bards where the song writers and story tellers in Britain mainly during the middle ages they told tales wrote verse and composed music. This I think that is a perfect description of what Gavin does.
Thank you. In my opinion, peoples have been mostly unfair toward Andromeda. It is a good game! It's main "sin" being, it's different from the main trilogy. I'm glad you made this song. Love from Canada!
From what I heard it was that old AAA game killer, rushed deadlines. Publishers seem to do this a lot, and it rarely turns out well. Really rarely. I don't know why they always choose to waste whatever investment they had already put into the game in favor of getting it out slightly faster. I know it must cost a lot to keep an AAA studio running for even a week, but...you'd think that's why they have a publisher at all...I guess I just don't understand business.
I think its because of the fiscal year thing, to please the shareholders before march 31, they made the same thing back in 2012 and force ME 3 while the team asked for more time.
Well this ended up getting more feels out of me than the game itself. Loved all the callbacks to your older ME songs. Great job as always. Also your Ryder looks great!
Imagine, if the Anfromeda goes trilogy and this song happens to be the ending theme of the third game, except ending with words "We are home." (after all of the normal lyrics).
I really hope these are just rumors. Even if they are not... Well, one can dream, after all. And I really hope Andromeda galaxy will truly become new home for those who endured centuries-long trip from the Milky Way - just in the hope for a new home.
Took me a few listens to hear that you have used the rift from "Crucible". One of my favourite instrumentals, so is no wonder I love this song as well :)
On my first listen, I teared up like I haven’t in months… shit, I don´t know how to put this song´s beauty in words alone. Just hearing the references to Crucible, one of my favorite instrumentals ever, was enough to get me excited, but the lyrics… Hope. Hope Hope Hope, that´s the word, it´s in my head beating non-stop, reminding me with its embrace and warmth of what it feels like to be alive. Discovery, Struggle, New Beginnings, Love, Fear and, through its darkest moments, Hope shining bright through it all. Thank you, Gav… Thank you so much…
Don't give up hope. Maybe. Just maybe. It can come back. Mass Effect is what really broke open the doors for games where every choice you make matters. It would be stupid to let it fade away completely.
Mass effect is never R.I.P, until we have Mass Effect 2:) Mass effect is one of the best trilogy ever made, all of three games are perfect, but the end of Mass effect 3 is bad, but i don’t think this a big problem, and we cannot play this three mighty games again:)
This song has taken on a bittersweet tone for me as of late, 'cause it is now extremely doubtful we will get DLC for this, or a sequel. I am so disappointed in you, EA.
A wonderful song as usual. I found the use of the Crucible melody (I believe) in the middle to be a particularly lovely and fitting call back to the prior trilogy. Personally, I am enjoying Andromeda. Every game has its flaws and glitches, but this story is just as engaging as the last.
Song is out now on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, Spotify etc... enjoy!!! And thank you for your support
I'm glad the songs bring you some comfort & joy :) Please stay strong and keep finding that joy & beauty in life!
Don't let go, Nileon. :) I know how you feel. There's a band that speaks to me like that, with the same effect upon the same problem.

The most incredible event of my week was six minites ago. I'm gonna earn money, enough to visit Ireland, buy a bouquet of flowers and hug Gav with tears on my cheeks. Despite we never encoutered each other, i truly consider you, Gav as one of my closest friends - your songs always make me feel better and brighter. Thanks for everything))
Ryder dances as badly as Shepard haha
LuciaSatalina The Shepard shuffle is universal
LuciaSatalina Why does Bioware never hire a Dance instructor for this stuff?
as badly? Trust me, ryder wishes they had the skill of shepard
Bartix there is one thing Ryder can do that Shepard can't: JUMP
with the help of a jetpack
I absolutely adored the game, and I am SO glad you liked it enough to be inspired to do a song about it.
It's been out for a while now, but only now have I been able to play it. And now I can at last listen to this song.
So, while late to the party, I applaud you.
some people were disappointed by this game but I still really like it regardless of their opinions about it. there were a lot of bugs and glitches but I'm playing it now and the patches that they've done have really taken care of most of them.
I discovered the game at its latest version, and I'm blown away.
Apart from some glitches in ambiant conversation, it's an extraordinary experience.
This game is incredible.
My problem isn't the gameplay.
My problem is the completely nonsense writing and the complete lack of common sense anyone in the Initiative showed.
Like, the Initiative was handed an Idiot Ball.
The callback to Crucible broke me. I love this song so much!
A beautiful song for an amazing game
One of the things i always look forward to in these type of songs is the throwback to your earlier songs of the game franchise. I love the use of Crucible in this.
Thanks Gav. Another great song. Keep well mate.
You did it again Gav. You made me care more about a game with one song than every single piece of marketing.
I am Pathfinder Ryder and this is my favorite Song on the Nexus
Probably some of Andromeda's best moments are used in this song, bravo
Miracleofsound: Making songs about games that are better than the games themselves since 2010.
Wrong: making games better since forever
Wrong: Making games godly since 100 B.C
kotor XD since 100,000 BC
Yes not even the dinosaurs could stop him
they tried too... its just their extinct now
If this were an ad for the game, that little bit at the end would have me instantly sold.
Reminds me of Iron Maiden during their Dance of Death era. Love it.
That's interesting you mention that cos I've been listening to that album a lot again lately. Must've had an influence!
HELL YEAH I WAS WAITING FOR THIS GAV YOU ARE THE BEST!
Gavin, you are an amazing artist. I think your song "amnesia" is one of the best, simply because I related so much to it. Thank you for what you do! You're amazing!
Love the call back to Crucible in this one. Another great song to add to my playlists.
There is a title/job that is not used much these days and that is Bard. For those that are not sure or don't know bards where the song writers and story tellers in Britain mainly during the middle ages they told tales wrote verse and composed music. This I think that is a perfect description of what Gavin does.
The back track gives me goosebumps damn. And once again, I’m back in Mass Effect hell because of this song
There's a lot of competition, but I think this might be my favourite song on the Citade... I mean, on this channel.
I started singing to it before I'd even heard the full song... another amazing song, Gav! Congratulations!
Thank you. In my opinion, peoples have been mostly unfair toward Andromeda. It is a good game! It's main "sin" being, it's different from the main trilogy. I'm glad you made this song. Love from Canada!
No, its main sin is that it's not different enough. Ryder sucks at dancing just as much as Shepard!
Even if I think MEA is not a perfect game (far from that) I too believe the hate is disproportionate towards MEA.
"rushed deadlines"
andromeda was in development for five years
1:8
After ALL these years I'm still here, there's something magical about this song
I like it
HOLY CRAP I LOVE IT!
Jesus Gav you keep getting better and better probably my favorite of your mass effect songs.
I'm so happy this came out.
You could have been able to tell how happy I am by looking at my face.
But the animator forgot to give me emotions.
Maybe your face is just tired.
It's just been revoked
You made my day XD. But now it's better thanks to the patch 1.05
Yep, at 1.05 I noticed only once weird facial animation. Otherwise this issue seems to be fixed.
Random Guy I beat the game before 1.5 I should really go back for a second playthrew it sounds like the patch helped a lot.
I love the little touch of Uncharted Worlds there at the beginning! :-P
Your Ryder is magnificent :3
Well this ended up getting more feels out of me than the game itself. Loved all the callbacks to your older ME songs. Great job as always. Also your Ryder looks great!
Don't get me wrong. The "I am onnly Human" is great. But this... This should be official song of ME:A.
Or at least the ending theme. Definitely the ending theme.
Imagine, if the Anfromeda goes trilogy and this song happens to be the ending theme of the third game, except ending with words "We are home." (after all of the normal lyrics).
There are rumors that because Andromeda was bit of a fail, the ME series will get a... lets call it a break. :(
I really hope these are just rumors. Even if they are not... Well, one can dream, after all. And I really hope Andromeda galaxy will truly become new home for those who endured centuries-long trip from the Milky Way - just in the hope for a new home.
Random Day's I just get a Miracle of Sound song stuck in my head and need to listen to it constantly, today was this song.
Как же мало просмотров... Такой *шедевр*, такой качественный контент люди обходят стороной...эх.
this maybe one of his best songs yet keep making amazing music gav
Took me a few listens to hear that you have used the rift from "Crucible". One of my favourite instrumentals, so is no wonder I love this song as well :)
Astonishing, thoughtful, impassioned, yet sentimental and poignant. I tip my hat to you sir!
I loved the game and the song. Thumbs up!!!
same here
You're not alone, brother
same here
HistoryIsLove
Yeah, Andromeda's criticism really is blown way out of proportion. It was a pretty good game, really.
Same!
Another prime example of why I love your songs
On my first listen, I teared up like I haven’t in months… shit, I don´t know how to put this song´s beauty in words alone. Just hearing the references to Crucible, one of my favorite instrumentals ever, was enough to get me excited, but the lyrics… Hope. Hope Hope Hope, that´s the word, it´s in my head beating non-stop, reminding me with its embrace and warmth of what it feels like to be alive. Discovery, Struggle, New Beginnings, Love, Fear and, through its darkest moments, Hope shining bright through it all. Thank you, Gav… Thank you so much…
Glad it moved you so much :)
WOW
Mass Effect Universe - R. I. P.
Makes me want to play the games again ... I think they accomplished exactly how game music should make you feel.
This song has taken on a bittersweet tone for me as of late,
'cause it is now extremely doubtful we will get DLC for this, or a sequel.
I am so disappointed in you, EA.
Well, the folks over on new BSN started with the #SaveTheQuarians hashtag. Maybe it'll do something, you never know. I suppose it's worth a shot.
My face is tired from grinning at how awesome this song is. Good work, Irish Christ!
A wonderful song as usual. I found the use of the Crucible melody (I believe) in the middle to be a particularly lovely and fitting call back to the prior trilogy. Personally, I am enjoying Andromeda. Every game has its flaws and glitches, but this story is just as engaging as the last.
Amazing as always, thanks for another great song Gav!
I like to imagine my Ryder and crew writing and singing this song on their journeys on the Tempest
Imagine Drack singing "Painful ends and broken hearts/Left behind for a new start/Shut the doors, ignite and cast away.... "
And he's back with another beautiful song!!! Thank you so much, Gavin! :D
Whenever i sing along with this song, i have a habit of mixing up "made" and "laid". But then i remember its a bioware game, so it all works out
I'm late to the party, but I just noticed that this is a throwback to the Crucible song. Took me 10 months after this songs release to hear.
AAAAH AAAAH I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO BED EARLY FOR WORK BUT SCREW IT
update :
TOTALLY WORTH IT
darkshadowlow An extra five minutes awake won't hurt. But then again who listens to MoS songs only once?
Says update but he did not even edit his comment lol
Darth Sidious 1)She
2) I started my comment before finishing listening to the song in its entirety, wrote update after my second listening
darkshadowlow oh ok my mistake then
Darth Sidious no biggie ^^
may or may not have listened to this all day non-stop
beautiful song for an amazing game! thank you!
indeed!
Someone who like the game! Mah man! :D
I could write in here how much I love this song. Or I could just mention that I've been listening to it for more than half an hour straight.
