I opened the game, put on my headphones and listened to this music for a straight 10 minutes... The feeling... Wonder, adventure, the realisation that I would soon be exploring the unknown. All of it awaiting me... I don't know how the reviews will go. I suspect they'll be good. But even if they're not... This music will still be special to me.
With the game now officially dead, we can take solace in that at least the soundtrack will remain. I would say this is as good as the ME1 main theme to a degree.
This is probably the saddest musical piece I know of. This beautiful song is forever tainted by the mishandled Mass Effect Andormeda development. This game held such vast potential; the rich Mass Effect world was ripe for further exploration, countless stories could be told, countless planets to visit, alien species to meet. In many ways I view the original ME trilogy as defining pieces of contemporary art. The way it made you think, the choices you had to make, while set in a sci-fi setting was grounded in very real concepts and historic events... It made a younger me think about things I probably wouldn't have that early on otherwise. Racism, diplomacy, war, science, ethics.. just to name a few concepts the Mass Effect series introduced me to at a relatively young age. And for that I am forever grateful because it made these things real in ways TV or other non-interactive mediums just cannot. As I have grown older I have slowly grown to appreciate the impact Mass Effect (and games in general) have had on my way to adulthood. These games matter, and they matter a lot to many people for many different reasons. It is with great sadness I write this with this beautiful music playing in the background. It is so sad, yet also so ironic that what is probably this series' last installment is accompanied by music which so perfectly embodies the very spirit of the series in ways ME Andromeda never did, and by all accounts never will. If I had to pick one single stand out moment from my time with the series, if I could only pick ONE moment. Out of all the great moments I've had; I will never forget the first time I landed on the moon (Earth's moon) and could view planet Earth as it hung as an oasis of life on the vastness of space and thought to myself: "Humanity have actually been here, real humans have had this view. That must have been absolutely incredicle!". No words can express just how special that moment was for a 14 year old me, and that is a big part of what makes this series so unique to me. It is a fictional universe, but still somehow so grounded in reality. it feels REAL, it feels like this might be a possible future. The Aliens act like people, they have lives of their own, their own history, motivations, and dipliomatic relations with other species. I short they feel plausible. I bid you farewell, old friend. Thank you for the stories, the memories, the fun and entertainment, they will never fade. Thank you.
Ace The Skylord Stop with this nonsense. The game wasn't half bad as all these triggered pre-teens make it out to be. It's better than ME1 just for exploration alone. Even better than ME3 'cause of its shitty ending. ME2, MEA, ME1, ME3.
Yeah what’s with all the bad hype with this game? Why is everyone so down on it? It didn’t live up to expectations from most of the fans, but was still miles better than most of the rehashed shit coming out for the latest gen consoles, even with all the bugs. There’s huge amounts of gameplay there, a good story and decent visuals, with an amazing sound track. I think most people compare it to the what they think should come after ME3 in terms of evolution, rather than comparing it to other current games.
Andromeda: the final frontier... These are the voyages of the Ark Hyperion. Its ungoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly bang where no one has banged before.
"I thought my first hour of Mass Effect Andromeda would be spent in the character creation. Nope, first hour is gonna be just listening to this." My first hour was spent trying to figure out how to save.
CardinalRule Im still not sure how to do it any help? :DDDD its just saves autimatically, but i'm sure its just because of I'm just at the part Sam is connected to me..

I only picked it up and started playing a couple of weeks ago. I do have a few hang ups with it when compared to the original trilogy, and it definitely hasn't hooked my attention as hard as its predecessors, but my experience so far hasn't been bad. Of course, I'm not very far in, as I only just picked up Jaal, so I still have a long way to go before I can formulate a complete opinion.
@@Skijaramaz to be clear, I call it underrated when compared to the reviews it got when it first came out. The original trilogy is still one of the my favorites series of all time. Andromeda was a really good and compelling time, but I don’t want to make it sound like it’s underrated and it’s actually just as good as the original trilogy. It isn’t, but it’s still quite good and still adds a lot of value to the mythos of Mass Effect
@@Revaks Its far far far behind the writing quality of the trilogy so from this point of view its not underrated and its what players back in the day were saying about it and they are still right. Despite this Andromeda isnt a very bad game yes but its definitively not a good mass effect.
Because game standards have gone down the shitter. I've tried playing it again and again but I always lose interest by the time you get to the angarans, I've never finished the game. If you ask me to play the original trilogy then I'd gladly stay up all night playing it.
I enjoyed it when it first came out and again when I replayed it this year. While I prefer the more linear gameplay of the original trilogy, I did not mind the open world nearly as much as I thought I would.
Definitely one of the best Game Themes I ever heard. Still gives me Chills, and made my Daughter stop crying when she was a Baby. Besides that, MEA was a completely underrated Game, I really loved it.
After almost one year since this game came out, I'm listening to this and getting sad about what became of Andromeda. I had such a blast with it and really wish we were able to get the closure the game deserved. At least I can now get a lovely feeling of nostalgia from this great track.
I agree Marc. Andromeda didn't receive any kindness from Mass Effect fans. Sure, it wasn't as good as the previous trilogy, but if it was judged as a standalone game, it would have survived the negativity from public, its deserved closure and maybe a continuation of the Andromeda story, because it was a good story. Bioware never disappoints with its soundtracks. Mass Effect & Dragon Age have the best music in all of gaming. This continues to be true for this game. Sure it's no Vigil, but it's a whole new adventure. I really hope Bioware remakes the entire trilogy with amazing graphics someday. Not some remastered version thought. Actually go back to ME1 and ME2 and give them ME3'S play style. Id they do that i would pay for that.
@@mrAZcardinal It had potential but they just nose dived onto concrete. I wouldn't have minded the game all the much if it wasn't such a step back from the trilogy before. It didn't even come close to being a compelling story and the companion characters where so bland. The best thing it had going for it was the level system and the movement style. If they had just gotten better writing staff and made it less of a chore to play it would've been a better game. They used the brand to sell a bad game and it almost killed the franchise. Hopefully they learn from the mistake and never release a mass effect game as bad as this again.
I remember when I heard this for the first time, I was severely moved emotionally. My eyes watered. For me, it really captures the mysticism and wonder of space, and space travel (new frontiers, planets to explore) and the adventures that could be had.
5 years later, this still makes my heart hurt. I'm still holding out hope that one day, that Quarian Ark will show up. And my Ryder will be there to greet them.
Agreed. This song is all about telling a story that is too far away to reach, a story that can't be heard by anyone except those who are there. The Andromeda is something we will only see through our telescopes, and that no one might ever attempt a similar voyage ever again.
Yes, this game has a few kinks that need to be worked out, but overall, I loved the 10 hour trial. The storyline was very gripping so far, and gameplay is really fun. It's all mostly cosmetic work to be done now.

This music sounds like it inspires hope, yet at the same time it expresses a kind of sadness, maybe because we're leaving behind everything we knew in the Milky Way, but exploring and finding hope in Andromeda
It took me and 4 of my friends 3 years to get through Mass Effect Andromeda. Nearly every monday from 7-10 we gathered together, telling our stories as the Pathfinder team on the Tempest. It starts as setting for the project. The Initiative. The lone french horn displays the intent. It's venerable. The rising beat and drums displays a low rumbling energy associated with the tremendous task. The lonely siren represents a departing, and a very distant traveling beacon of hope. The heavy rumbling tones that whale into the rising pressure represents the realiziation of the task at hand when awakened. The piano represents a humble background, mortal, and vulnerable. The echoing dispelling effect is nice. The second time the siren appears, the tone of the music changed, it's more classical instruments like strings. It makes it tender, and honorable. The strings accumulate and create a tremendous effect in the end as if the music represents the accomplishment of a great deed, a mission seen as impossible, finally done. The echoing creates a vast distancing effect, it puts the music into perspective, as it represents a people who have completed the impossible very far away. You will never see their monuments, or hear their stories.
Micro Narwhal remember that pre alpha trailer we got at E3 2014? I watched that vid like a million times. Now, we're less then a week until release. Is this real . . .
Just reinstalled it because of a full Mass Effect playthrough and the music is still ultra awesome. When the chorus begins to hype in the background at around 03:17 this feels like the unending possibilities of a new galaxy. Andromeda does not deserve the hate it recieved. What did people expect it to be? The synthecized/immortal/dead/survived shepard to save the galaxy from...what?
Pre-Ordered this on ZX Spectrum 128k.....16 thousand cassette's for just the title music but I can live with that....👍 (For you guys n gals of a certain age out there) 😎
Andromeda the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Tempest its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.
2020, put this baby back and started a brand new play through. Miss the Mass effect games. This game is still very enjoyable for me. Wish they would of had dlc for this....
As a fan of the original Mass Effect and a lover of the Virgil Theme, this song lives up to the mystery tone that they want to set up for ME:A. I have heard this song the whole day! I love the every chord of it!
I am a HUGE fan of the Mass Effect series. I listened too much the critics/media and because of them i never gave this game a chance. I finally played it, it wasn't perfect, but it's a true sci-fi experience, i really loved it. Thanks you BioWare, for everything.
I think people got hung up on the pre release silly walk video. Also people still hating on it probably haven't played it recently, mine played perfectly.
I feel the same way playing Starfield. It's just a shame that Andromeda never lived up to It's hype back then. It was almost an impossible task to outdo the original Mass Effect games, but they have my respect for trying. I'm praying Bioware makes a worthy successor with the next Mass Effect game in the works. This is a series that's 15 years old, and there's so much potential.
nope...its kinda of a remake from the 1st mass effect game, if you remember mass effect 1 had a planet and a moon image and the "press spacebar to start" thing too
I remember when I first started Andromeda I actually just sat and listened to this menu music for quite some time before starting. The nostalgia just hit so hard. They really got the music right with this game. It just sounded so much like Mass Effect.
Other than TDU-1, TDU-2, and the Halo series this is and will be my favorite game. Just the overall vastness and exploration. Not to mention the ability to be immersed in the game. Love how you are given the ability the decide what happens with the choices you make. Hope to see a Mass Effect Andromeda 2 in the near future.
This game should have been Game of the Year, but impossible deadlines, poor management, and numerous glitches caused this project to stumble. I hope Mass Effect 4 doesn’t have the same problems and I hope we get to go back to Andromeda someday
Launch bugs aside(which I never experienced), I think the game got unnecessary flak. The music is just as good as the original trilogy. They never disappoint with the music. This music makes me think of exploring unknown worlds and discovering things we never even thought could exist. I played this twice in a row at launch. No regrets. My only major complaint is that they dismissed it so quickly. They opened a lot of doors and I’d love to see what’s on the other side of all of them.....
I got Andromeda after last christmas and have to say it's already one of my favorite games of all time. The crew and their loyalty missions, the details in conversation updates, the soundtrack, the graphics, gameplay and overall story are so damn amazing. It is such a massive shame how quickly Bioware abandoned the game. Is it perfect? No, but a bit more polishing and bugfixes would've been enough to be a truly great game. The thought of never seeing the Tempest crew again makes me sad. If only Bioware would've had the guts to support their game like Hello Games did with No Man's Sky..
Out of all the music in all three games, nothing stuck with me like Leaving Earth in ME3. Chilling. I'm very optimistic for Andromeda, but I'd be surprised if it can top that.
It's June 2021. I forget what day it is and I don't feel like looking it up but it's 3:18 in the morning. I'm restarting a new game. This game ahead is issues but it was still a good game. Well it's future was bright. The story could have been written a bit better. But overall it's a good game minus the issues. It still has a really bright future if EA would get out of bioware's way and just let them create and not dictate. The following games after this I think really could have been biowares masterpiece of all time. Yeah I said it, the second Mass effect Andromeda game to me really could have been biowares masterpiece . . .
A different video's music just reminded me of this for some reason, so I googled it and damn. I remember listening to it years ago, similarly as I did Morrowind's theme even a longer time ago. Time flies.
Paesano definitely took inspiration from Prometheus with that opening. Rather fitting seeing as both premises are about humans travelling to far away worlds.

Beautiful music analysis
I actually teared up at how beautiful this is. We've waited years for this...and it's hard to believe Andromeda is so close to release.
same here, its kinda hard to believe that 3/4 years of development and waiting for the new game are about to be over... only one week.
PascimanArc23 5 years of development actually haha
Micro Narwhal remember that pre alpha trailer we got at E3 2014? I watched that vid like a million times. Now, we're less then a week until release. Is this real . . .
StephySon I did too! It's hard to believe Andromeda is only a week away from release. Hope Bioware has one hell of a ride in store for us.
This is my favorite game series and I'm just so excited to play Andromeda.
This music is still a masterpiece!
This is the kind of soundtrack needed in order to make Ryder the next Legend of the Universe!
this theme is so peaceful and tranquil. It has slowly risen to one of my favorite pieces of video game music.
I've got goosebumps in few moments, which means this song is good.
So beautiful! Snuck my headphones in during class and had this playing on loop.
This music makes me feel all the feels
This is Beautiful. I don't want a Mass Effect Andromeda Sequel with improvements from the 1st Andromeda.......
*I NEED IT!!*
This music made me feel so much potential for the game! I wanted to go into the black hole!
I could fall asleep to this music. Peacefully.
Say what you want, but this game got two things on spot: music and visuals. The game os gorgeous
Pre-Ordered this on ZX Spectrum 128k.....16 thousand cassette's for just the title music but I can live with that....👍
(For you guys n gals of a certain age out there) 😎
Andromeda the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Tempest its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.
this theme is very fitting for Andromeda
Anybody who has played the demo notice the song Virgil play for a couple seconds as you level up?
2020, put this baby back and started a brand new play through.
Miss the Mass effect games. This game is still very enjoyable for me. Wish they would of had dlc for this....
The Quarian Ark would have been a no brainer purchase for me, instead of it being a book.
As a fan of the original Mass Effect and a lover of the Virgil Theme, this song lives up to the mystery tone that they want to set up for ME:A. I have heard this song the whole day! I love the every chord of it!
If Destiny and inception had a baby it would be this
I miss this game 😢 sept 6, 2018 last time i played it
Maybe you should finish it.
Just saying.
This song still brings hope that EA will bring back this franchise, and give us one heck of a good story regarding the missing Quarian Ark.
While I prefer the menu music from the past 3 games, I still enjoyed this and I look forward to hearing more.
I am a HUGE fan of the Mass Effect series. I listened too much the critics/media and because of them i never gave this game a chance.
I finally played it, it wasn't perfect, but it's a true sci-fi experience, i really loved it.
Thanks you BioWare, for everything.
This makes me excited for the day that we finally get Mass Effect 4. The Mass effect Soundtracks is absolutely amazing, especially Andromeda.
i dont care what people say i think andromeda is amazing played it more than 10 times through
Agreed great game
You are head on right
Don't care what others say, this game is great,it rises above it's flaws in my opinion
the game is a master piece
True, the game is really good. Fuck all the retards who say otherwise!
i agree, sure it had flaws, but it was still damn fun
It's pretty much the best game I have ever played, can't wait for the trilogy remaster
100% agree with you
This song makes me wanna cry. not gonna lie.
Already 4 years ago time flies.. jesus hope the next Mass effect is gonna be good like andromeda i never understood the hate on Andromeda
I think people got hung up on the pre release silly walk video. Also people still hating on it probably haven't played it recently, mine played perfectly.
2 years now still no new mass effect sucks really tbh@@jmt8706official
This music actually made me cry listening to this for 30minutes just the piano music it's so beautiful
I remember getting mass effect andromeda for my 18th birthday. Good memories
White playing Starfield, its impossible not to remember this.
This is a series that's 15 years old, and there's so much potential.
...Did they just make an Alien reference with their choice of image???
Possibly.
Time Brain "In space, no one can hear you scream."
"they definitely can hear you bang though, so put a sock on the door"
nope...its kinda of a remake from the 1st mass effect game, if you remember mass effect 1 had a planet and a moon image and the "press spacebar to start" thing too
“You’re off the edge of the map now, boy. Here there be monsters!”
The song of our people when we start traveling beyond the moon. 😎
I remember when I first started Andromeda I actually just sat and listened to this menu music for quite some time before starting. The nostalgia just hit so hard. They really got the music right with this game. It just sounded so much like Mass Effect.
This aged like fine wine expectations for mass effect 4 will be big
the horn in the beginning gave me skyrim feels.... GOOD VIBES
Sounds very mysterious. Fits the game
In space, no one can hear you scream...
HelloChief117 in space you won’t have enough time to scream
Incredible soundtrack. Just realized the planet, storms and moon are moving, while I was hypnotized by the music. :)
Just... beautiful...
Gives off a slight Stellaris vibe for me... Really fitting, actually.
This game should have been Game of the Year, but impossible deadlines, poor management, and numerous glitches caused this project to stumble. I hope Mass Effect 4 doesn’t have the same problems and I hope we get to go back to Andromeda someday
This music sold me on the game on my free trail before id even made my character, love it
While I'm not feeling the initial Destiny vibes, after 2:00 it gets interesting...really interesting!
such beauty, such majesticness
Thank you! I have literally just wanted to listen to this for a bit without running down my trial time!
Oh my God. The first glimpse of another galaxy. An astral voyage from my couch. unbelievable ..isnt it?
thank god I got the soundtrack with the deluxe edition I ordered from Gamestop! 😀😀😀
Nothing will be as special as the beautiful music in Mass Effect 3.
joe xbliver Vigil ... Sovereigns theme ... Liaras world .... The suicide mission?
Out of all the music in all three games, nothing stuck with me like Leaving Earth in ME3. Chilling. I'm very optimistic for Andromeda, but I'd be surprised if it can top that.
SuperBeanSquad Amen my friend amen.
Leaving earth is good until they add in those poorly synthed string instruments. Would prefer real strings instead.
Vigil
this is Mass Effect. its beautiful
Yeah I said it, the second Mass effect Andromeda game to me really could have been biowares masterpiece . . .
it's really so beautiful. Very reminiscent of ME3 and DA's soundtracks. Brought me to tears. Thanks for putting this up guys
Is still my favorite game, so sad we will never get Mass Effect Andromeda 2 but at least we will get a new OG Mass Effect game
I use this as an alarm clock makes mornings better
A different video's music just reminded me of this for some reason, so I googled it and damn. I remember listening to it years ago, similarly as I did Morrowind's theme even a longer time ago. Time flies.
Wow!!! This is incredible!!!! Soooooo powerful and moving. I LOVE IT!!!!! Well done BIOWARE!!!!
Kinda has a Hans Zimmer sound to it, almost like Interstellar, or Man Of Steel.
MASSEFFECTfan101 finally a Proper Comment😂
Paesano definitely took inspiration from Prometheus with that opening. Rather fitting seeing as both premises are about humans travelling to far away worlds.
It's so close to release can't wait, love the music!
Such an amazing piece of music. Ill likely have it played at my funeral.❤
I really love this
