This song is a hybrid of the two different versions of "The Suicide Mission"; one is the original version by Jack Wall from the Mass Effect 2 original soundtrack and the other is by the London Philharmonic Orchestra from their recent 2011 album "The Greatest Video Game Music". I think this combined version is the most epic!

This game came out while i was deployed in Afghanistan. A buddy of mine ordered it online for PC and when he was done with it i installed it. To this day I can honestly say this game kept me sane through that tour.
Yeah this game did get to help many in time of need & glad it help you too with your service.

I call the original the "Synthetic" version, the orchestral the "Organic" version, and this one the "Ascended" version. The combination of Synthetic and Organic. Possessing the advantages of both, and weaknesses of neither.

@@AmericanSaiyajin You just didn't understand it (the ending). The ending is brilliant. And even more ingenious is that for the correct passage it is not necessary to be very smart, it is enough to follow the path of Saren from beginning to end.
2:09 this buildup right here is insane. The air is razor thin at this elevation with music that can breath that type of EPIC intensity.

i'd honestly love that, i'm not a fan of VR, but if they could pull that off with Mass Effect 2 i would be happy.
The full dive tech would be truly scary. In order to do it they'd essentially need to figure out how to hack the brain. As with most other inventions in human history, tech has always been used by evil people to do terrible things on a grand scale.
The part at 3:15 gets me every freakin' time. Makes my body go numb with chills - amazing.

I used to jog to this song in college, and while I was playing the legendary edition it was the first time I had played since I was a kid... I felt my heart rate elevate and it seriously was even more epic than I remember it being as a child.

This is the ONLY orchestal pice that makes me CRY in frnt of my PC ...... Holy fuck, my connection to mass effect .. i was never left emotionally FUCKED by a freaking GAME! NEVER before i played Mass Effect! It left me in TEARS! and i LOVED EVERY SINGLE MOMENT!

***** It wasn't out of character, he was indoctrinated, and like Saren in the first game, the only way for him to escape was to kill himself (which he does if you have 100% Paragon or Renegade).
All Illusive Man wanted was to protect humanity (albeit at all costs), and while indoctrinated, all he was doing was pushing it closer to extinction, so he had to kill himself to break the Reapers hold on him.

Best not to get your hopes up with ME4. Everyone who made the original trilogy from Bioware is long gone. You could say Bioware is a husk now, thanks to EA.

In light of the potential remaster coming. I can't wait to play this fucking game again. Would be cool if they used an orchestral soundtrack. A truly epic experience from start to finish.
to me the remaster looks like they're doing the bare minimum which is such a huge wasted opportunity. If they'd properly add all 3 games into one continuous game and all in ME3's engine it'd truly be the ultimate ME experience.

@@Amoogus they've made some improvements absolutely but within the limits of the original game. Haven't seen enough actual gameplay to comment but I hope especially the side missions can be improved a lot. I remember a lot of bouncing around on empty planets only to loot 3 meaningless trinkets and clear out 1 bunker full of boxes 😁

I would love to watch the Catalyst's face when he just get that thrown back to him just before dying. That would have been a great act of defiance. If Sovereign had a soul, it would let out a scream of wrath in the afterlife.

If The Suicide Mission was like ME3's "The Fleet's Arrive" cinematic,the Normady would just fly through the Omega 4-Relay shoot 2-3 drones in a 3 second action sequence and than land on the base. Oh yeah,and the cinematic would also be exactly the same no matter what you did and nobody could die.

Suicide Mission was played when you fight the collectors and the Human-Reaper Hybrid... that music was still too quiet though, it had to be louder imo.

The LPH version by itself is not quite as good as the original, but it fits together with the original quite well. The combination of the two is definitely...EPIC!

I bought a piano book of video game themes because I saw it had the fallout 4 theme and I love it. Flipping through it, I found this mass effect theme and now this book has become the best purchase of my life
If you haven't, play the games! This is a legendary theme partly because of the amazing story it represents.
Since I reinstalled me2 + me3 a few weeks back, this track has been blasting in my playlist every day, even when I work at my computer.

coldblood26 Never figured out why he wasn't promoted after becoming a Spectre and taking full commando over the Normandy. Would have been a kinda logical move IMO. I mean Alenko became a Mayor within two years, Ashley made it Lt. Commander while Shepard, first human Spectre kept his rank?!
