It's also a matter of timing. The first great cover of a song will often get more traction than an even better version published later, etc. Could be the group was re-doing popular numbers before and this was just their first first. The good thing is that once a group gets some attention, they usually find a loyal audience who will go back and find the rest of their bangers.

@@WillowundTara to be fair slugging the random thief out in the middle of nowhere to loot them is skyrim logic which applys in this game plus the concept of stealth left when we got black flag and bullet proof armor.
Although the song is talking about the glory of Nordic culture but as an Indian I can relate with it easily as we once had glorious days of mighty warriors.

The Norns carved the fate of everyone into wood, the narrative director of the game said that the weaving metaphor worked better for the story so they went with that instead. Also the name, of the Norns Urthr, Verthandi and Skuld, translate to Has been, Becoming and Shoud. Fate was not immutable save for Ragnarok, and it was our decisions that solidified the fate of us and all those around us as represented by the Web of Wyrd.

I’m half Swedish and half Danish and my Swede family side ALWAYS make us remember our past of the viking bloodline and how brave and how much glory they had! I love how many connections there are with the lyrics of all the ac songs you do, the crimson river, "winds and the waves will carry me" (which I noticed in My Revolution and My Odyssey) it's so cool, keep it up, dude!
I love the "Will Carry Me" and "Set me Free" lines you put in each of these. In the Unity song, it was "My Revolution Carries Me" and "My Revolution sets me free", for the Odyssey song, it was "Winds of the Ocean" and for this one, it's "Wind and waves" I love it, Gav

I am not Scandinavian but I love their myth. I've played almost all Vikings games, watched movies and TV shows. I can't wait for Vikings: Valhalla.

@@mz9318 Just saying that it was actually Arabs that attacked Vikings. The Ottomans, specifically the North Africans, seized control of Iceland briefly for a couple years back in the 1500s and during Suleiman the Magnificent. Note, they were also slave raiders, so they subsequently went up to Iceland to raid for slaves. Dark note on history tho :(
But I also guess you could say it either way because the Vikings did also raid Spain back in like the 800s or 900s as well.

Simple, beautiful, yet powerful. The rhythmic beat of the drums is almost trance-like. Like boots ever marching on, even to Valhalla itself.
It's incredible, even after innumerable attempts to make a metal version of this song, none of them quite stand up to the original despite the popularity of viking metal. A true testament to the quality on display here.
I've never felt so lost in a world so wrong this song calls me back.
