Played through it twice, still, the intro and it's music is almost better than the whole game. The music alone is something phenomenal, the whole feeling of this huge new galaxy journey realised in sound for everyone to witness. Absolutely genius.

The game is a massive dissapointment compared to the trilogy, the only good things are soundtrack (especially the ambience music) and planet exploration. The graphics are pretty, so it is sort of enjoyable to explore the different planets (not the jungle planet tho). The frozen one was really cool, it feels so dead and cold and empty and surreal, but then the whole game flops on its face when you interact with any of the missions or npc's - they absolutely fucking suck, characters have zero personality and they all look like freaks (atleast they did back when game launched, guess they patched a lot of it). TLDR: Decent open world game, very average Mass Effect game.
The firsy time I played this, I got goosebumps when the letters appeared suddenly in the black screen, like the first mass effect game. So iconic and cool moment, where the synth arpeggio sets the mood for the tittle.

This was the first mass effect game I've played. I love it. Sad to see it got so much hate from an old fanbase of an apparently very successful trilogy. Hope this game moves forward. Will probably play the first three a bit to see what I missed. I LOVE THIS GAME.
To be fair, it was worse with ME3 and its "weird and colored" ending, the trilogy was very well built and no matter how improved the game system was in Andromeda (it was good, I enjoyed the new mechanics), the main point of this franchise was the story, something where Andromeda disappointed fans. The idea of avoiding the "colored ending" from Mass Effect 3 was well executed sending us 3M years away, but the story... My advice: I hope you avoided spoilers, the original trilogy has too many plot twists and WTF moments you must experience.

And most of all the connections you make with your crew... by the end of ME3 they feel like friends or family. You never want it to end and you want to come through it all alive, with them... been playing videogames for 30 years and the only games that made me feel like that were ME and RDR2. I wouldn't even call Andromeda a Mass Effect game... story and characters are completely bland and forgettable, just a generic sci-fi game with good combat and production values (except character animation).

An amazing intro, feels-all-Bioware, I was full of anticipation after this intro; and I was positively impacted from all angles. An addition of verticality to a gameplay is absolutely fantastic given the new possibilities of a suit. The motion capture and the gaming mechanics are very impressive, a character control and exploration is very smooth and full of SCI-FI techs and ideas. The graphics is all-Bioware, very crispy, full of surprises to overwhelm by an impression. The starting on the first planet and a view of the star was better than in Prey (and Prey surprised me a lot by means of the graphics). Adjusted for the details field and given the actual conditions, Bioware graphics always feel full of an idea to portray fully and lively a current lore and a story - it is something not easily done. I can feel that Bioware pulls into their games more vigor overall. The details field is a stand-alone category which is always limited due to the present technological advancements in whatever game. With the games it is like with the history by means of the details - cannot be evaluated retroactively from the present views. The state, the political system, the economy, the political decisions are like the details in the games.

As someone who never played the og ME series, I played this one first & thought it was pretty good, I recently played the legendary edition & completed all 3 games & have to say I feel like Andromeda got a lot of hate for no reason lol or maybe I just don't understand why people disliked it
The concept was magnificent. Pushing Mass Effect technology to the utmost limits and exploring a whole new galaxy is brilliant. The timing relative to the rest of the series is … questionable. Namely because if humanity alone had the resources to build something almost on par with the Citadel BEFORE the Reapers invaded, taking the Reapers on should have been WAY easier.
This has to be one of my favorite intros in videogames. ME1 intro is great, specially when you are starting your second playthrough and you know what is this man (or woman) going to do, ME2 is also good. ME3 is pure depression (in a good way) but MEA is just powerful, the setup of being a traveler, seeing Earth for the last time, going to the edge of the solar system and going to the arc thats going to get you and 100,000 other travelers like you to a whole new galaxy. Its amazing. The rest of the game might not be as great and awesome as the intro is but its alright. Its a good Mass Effect spin off

Which was exploration was weak, a self preservation motive would've been better, launching the initiative after the reapers invaded, an emergency plan if reapers harvest succeeded, and then... After the war was over, send another ark to tell them that salvation was achieved in the milky way.
Then you'd have to explain the threat of the Reapers to everyone. The point of the Andromeda Initiative, was to get underway before the Reapers invaded.

The game was good and underrated and criticized so much. Yes the faces and animations were bad, but they did fix them and going back the gameplay is the best of all ME games. I hope they bring this gameplay back in the new one. Yes it was not better than the originals but it was still a good ME game.
This opening had me pumped too...Then we meet the locals, and I seriously thought maybe you wouldn't be shooting right from the start, but no... Not only do they speak perfect English, but they are shooting at you in about 3 seconds... Any hope for meeting a cool new species, working through the inevitable communication problems as we work to forge a relationship... Nope. Just generic big bads. Stupid quests and terrible animations sealed it for me and I tapped out on the first desert planet. What a let down.
Those issues turned me off to it on release, but in the last week I haven't been wanting to put the game down when going for a mass effect title. Mostly because I really didn't want to go through the original games mechanics, even if it's updated. ME2 is where I felt a lot more comfortable. I do wish EA didn't transfer off the bioware team to work on another game. Which I am told was worse, so they could come back and clean up the story, bugs, make the choices mean something. and give us a post game story or other such dlc, anything to build on what we got. Because I feel what we got was interesting but doomed to failure because of EA's meddling.
I wanted this game to be so good but it is the worst game in the series by far. I couldn't even finish it because of the poor quality of it. I hate EA so much for screwing this franchise...

The game was good and underrated and criticized so much. Yes the faces and animations were bad, but they did fix them and going back the gameplay is the best of all ME games. I hope they bring this gameplay back in the new one. Yes it was not better than the originals but it was still a good ME game.
The only part of the game that is aweome. The only thing Bioware nailed.
This opening had me pumped too...Then we meet the locals, and I seriously thought maybe you wouldn't be shooting right from the start, but no... Not only do they speak perfect English, but they are shooting at you in about 3 seconds... Any hope for meeting a cool new species, working through the inevitable communication problems as we work to forge a relationship... Nope. Just generic big bads. Stupid quests and terrible animations sealed it for me and I tapped out on the first desert planet. What a let down.
Those issues turned me off to it on release, but in the last week I haven't been wanting to put the game down when going for a mass effect title. Mostly because I really didn't want to go through the original games mechanics, even if it's updated. ME2 is where I felt a lot more comfortable. I do wish EA didn't transfer off the bioware team to work on another game. Which I am told was worse, so they could come back and clean up the story, bugs, make the choices mean something. and give us a post game story or other such dlc, anything to build on what we got. Because I feel what we got was interesting but doomed to failure because of EA's meddling.
Greatest flop of the series, with no mention of how they avoided the reapers travelling to andromeda.
I mean, space is... big. It's not that unreasonable that they didn't run into any reapers.

I wanted this game to be so good but it is the worst game in the series by far. I couldn't even finish it because of the poor quality of it. I hate EA so much for screwing this franchise...
I'm still going. It's nothing like the original trilogy tho.
For me Mass effect andromeda is bad game, broken, curve, unfinished, but... It still mass effect that i loved and i see the soul in Andromeda. Andromeda is weaker mass effect, but it still mass effect and i love this game. Even see terrible animation, location hell, it still for me Mass Effect and it's sad that i can't see a continue of story of Galactic Andromeda with Vetra (best waifu in Andromeda), Drack, Pebe, Cora, Jaal, Leksi, Kallo.
The only good part of Andromeda. Too bad it was only 2 mins long 😂
