      @@Jacobstx Sump is a word in English. It means 'a pit, well, or the like in which water or other liquids gather'. In machinery it's the part of the machine where fluids are gathered prior to being recirculated or in which waste is gathered before being disposed of. So it'd be the lowest level of Zaun in which all the waste/water from the upper levels flows into before being disposed of. So, yeah, like the sewers.

    The Sump is basically Zaun's Zaun.
    I know it sounds stupid but just like how the rich stay in Piltover instead of Zaun, the rich/powerful zaunites stay in the upper levels while the poor suffer in the Sump.
    Because it's lower than most levels, the air is basically as toxic as it can be down there to the point that non-natives almost can't breathe without gas-masks. It's basically shorthand for Zaun's bad part of the hood. A Zaunite will stab you for money. Anyone from the Sump will do it for fun.

    The biggest problem with the Sac Scholar right now is that the 2 mana slot is currently already really well represented in the Fated archetype because the unit slot in those decks are at a premium because you mainly want to run spells in those decks so the majority of those spots are filled with units that can target allies like the Brightsteel Protector to progress your Pantheon, grow your board and make your Saga Seeker bigger or units that are generating targeted spells, primarily the Lunari Cultist and the Mountain Goat or the Cosmic Youngling which really helps against Fated's primary weakness of rushdown and also synergizes really well with buffs. Fated doesn't really need an engine in the 2 mana slot because if a Fated deck hasn't won by turn 8 (2 or 3 turns after their Pantheon drops) when they usually run out of steam an extra copy or 2 of Pale Cascades, Gems or Guiding Touch isn't going to save you at this point. Pretty much there's just better targets to buff because they drop earlier (Saga Seeker) or have extra effects (Wounded Whiteflame and Fury to grow even faster, , Akshan with Quick Attack and the Hoard, Cosmic Youngling because a 1/4 that's healing itself and your Nexus can generate insane value, Winged Messenger with Elusive and Sparkefly with Elusive and Lifesteal) wind up being more efficient because these decks usually want to focus on 2 or 3 other units to threaten board but the star of the show is Pantheon. If there was ever a slower, more value orientated Fated deck that maybe played towards Kayle that wasn't relying on Pantheon blowing the game out of the water on turn 5 Sac Scholar would probably see more play but right now he's just not needed in a deck that lives fast and dies young.
    TL;DR: The 2 mana slot in Fated decks are already really well represented and their issue right now is their overreliance on 2 or 3 wincons that are decently answered by meta decks in the game and the issue is not running out of gas. If Fated ever slowed down or moved away from Pantheon Sac Scholar would probably be more desirable but right now he's solving a problem that Fated doesn't need solved.

    The All Seeing Oracle would be good vs certain match ups that have some big spells they want to play, but also you could just use a Deny. It has the potential for the opponent to not want to play a spell assuming it will be countered. It's still a good card regardless if it's seeing any play, but you have counter spell options, so there really isn't alot of need for it.

    • @DregunStash
      @DregunStash Год назад

      @tinfoilslacks3750 Год назад

      MtG also has a very similar concept in the form of emblems, playerbound changes that affect the remainder of the game.
      Also it's crazy that Siren song is 4c to give 1 cost units +1/1, while spirits unleashed has an arguably stronger up front effect and gives *all* units +1/1, for just 1 more mana, yet it was never really good. Part of that being that freljord is the most boring meh tier region and part of that being that being cheaper is always better even if it makes the effect worse.

    Sacrificial Scholar should be good in Pantheons decks, cause you need to be using spells each round to get his level up condition, and this lets you waste some of those spells even if it's not the best time to play them, and you get them back. Card generation/ recycling is value and value is good. That value can be used later on more important units. This card exist solely to help Pantheon level and to still have a hand by the time you get there.

    Sorry I know this is random but I couldn't find a way to message you, awhile back you mentioned on Twitter if people wanted to get started trying to do content with LoR to reach out to you so I'm trying to do that now haha

    I think that all seeing oracle would see more play if more decks actually had a big spell you'd want to counter. I play it in my sett/Jacl deck and i rolled a dragon deck thanks to stopping their stun

    Dont play LoR but in hearthstone a parrallel to Sacrificial Scholar is Unstable Experiment.
    1 mana (0/2) Deathrattle: Get a copy of every spell played on this minion (or something like that)
    One thing to not that this card was almost exclusively used in combo decks to duplocate spells as when duplicating the Experiment, the clone still stored the spells as well.
    Just using it as a way to get extra vakues from buffs never happened.
    Of course with spell mana and the fact Scholar has better stats there are differences, but I think that if scholar could be duped to set up a combo, it would see play as that, but as pure value it probably will not.

    I'm not sure Rarran really grasps what "everywhere" means in Runeterra. In Hearthstone it affects hand/deck/board, but not future summons/discovered cards.

    7:01 Maybe you recorded this before your "Ultimate Warmother's Call Combo" video, but in one game you got denied 2 big spells by the All Seeing Oracle. If you recorded this afterwards you either have a really bad memory or you're a LIAR XD

    Honestly my experience with watching these is that people from older card games usually do really well guessing for younger card games. Those guys over yonder playing Magic are looking down on us like mere children with an understanding of CCGs that we can but dream of.

    Rarran for sure thought sacrificial scholar gave you three copies of the first spell played on this, not copies of the first three spells you play on it. That’s why he thought it was so good and kept mentioning how it’s an easy way to just get extra copies of a card.

    I think Rarrans was misreading Scholar. He seemed to think it would give 3 copies of the first spell you played on it. Instead of a single copy of each of the first three spells played on Scholar. Don't know if that would have changed his answer.

    Sunny kinda messed up with All Seeing Oracle IMO because I think a lot of the reason it's not seeing play is many of Ionia's best tools have been rotated or nerfed so the decks thay are still running Ionia are doing so for very specific reasons and can't fit this card (seraphine)
    If Ahri had a good deck then this card actually synergizes with what a recall deck is trying to do much better. It's still not a 3 of because 5 mana(total) deny just can't be
