I could easily afford a Rolex, but like homages, and put the money in investments. When a friend who's a bit of a watch snob made fun of my San Martin, I said let's compare our investment account balances. Needless to say, I got the last laugh, and have helped him with investments. Fun fact, 10k in Apple stock 25 years ago is worth around 13 million bucks today
Many of the parts of the Silent Service are made in the US to include the case. The movement comes from Switzerland and the bracelet from Asia. It’s all hand built/assembled in the US. They can’t call it Made in America due to the parts imported from Switzerland and Asia. The Silent Service isn’t an homage watch. The watch is its own thing and it’s a really really outstanding watch. I liquidated everything else I had and now have just two Silent services and am hoping for a blue version.
Yea, the requirements are very stringent to me called "made in America". I don't think I could sell off everything and keep the silent service. It would not make my cut for a 24 watch collection, which I am trying to get down to.
Hello James. I own the Ginault Silent Service and ORV2, and they are absolutely awesome pieces. Both of my watches are ticking at +2 to +4 seconds per day, which is outstanding. Quality is topnotch, and customer service is outstanding. To me, these watches are tremendous value for money.
There’s a brand new Tisell out with a better end link. Other improvements as well to the case making it more like a modern sub. It also comes with a SW movement now.
Silent Service is solid. I’ve had mine about a year. Sold all my other divers which included three Tudors and put the money in my investment account.
Good move
I have been strongly considering selling off a bunch of my watches and investing the funds as well.

@@WrongTimeWatch do it! I recommend Fidelity Contrafund, which has averaged 13% annually since 1967.
@@rickhammel9541 have you got any super great investment tips I would love to hear them
I paid $1200 for a silent service diver date version at pre order prices. There's several options you can choose from, all different prices.
Yes, that is a good point. I wish I could pick a coin edge bezel, indices, and hands like my submariner.
@@WrongTimeWatchthat’s what the Ocean Rover is, which is an homage.
@@Jedi391 I would like it more for sure.
Honestly both look great if you don't want to spend that kind of cash
That is a good point

The Tisell is a great watch. I've owned it a few times and I just gave one away in a contest. It is a perpetual favorite off mine.
I totally agree. I want to get the version with the flat sapphire crystal. Hard to beat these watches for the money.

I won't argue with you. I have been tempted to sell my Silent Service a few times, but when I put it on wrist, I decide not to sell it.

Nice Tisell for the price 👌🏼 The Ginault is close to perfection. I guess the bracelet may be a pleasure to wear.
Agreed 💯
Yes, for the most part I like the Ginault.

Thanks, I just looked it up. That is a great looking watch, and would give Ginault a great challenge for the money.
Didn’t see your Korean link for tissel
Sorry about that. tisellkr.com/
Tisell best
Well it is $250, but yes good value for the money
Ginault's second hand looks cheap 😢
I don't mind the pop of color.
why do a comparison of two totally different price point watches. plus you are terrible at it.
Thanks for watching
