actually Mighty and Ray were going to be a team in sonic heroes so they would have been brought back to life but since there 3rd team member would have been metal sonic they probablt didnt make it in the game because well metal sonic in the final boss
I remember reading from the japanese manual that all the members of the Chaotix went to that mysterious island that rose from the ocean for completely different reasons and didn't know each other before. As far as I know, Knuckles wasn't the leader or founder of the Chaotix, just the last one to arrive there and the one who set them free after Eggman captured them. I'd like to imagine that while Knuckles and Mighty went their separate ways after Eggman was defeated, Espio, Charmy and Vector decided to band together since then because they realized how well they work together or something. I see no reason why that can't be the "origin story" of the Chaotix.

My first exposure to the Chaotix was when I was a very very young child in 1995. I started playing Sonic games in 1994 and I frequented a video store to rent Sonic games until I was eventually gifted all of them, but one time when I was there I saw a huge Knuckles standee advertising Knuckles' Chaotix. I only had a Genesis and never heard of the Sega CD or 32X, but I wanted it and told my family. Later that year for my birthday I was gifted a 32X and Knuckles' Chaotix. I was so excited to play it. After hours of trying to hook up the damn thing with my parents, we finally got it working! But once I actually played it... I hated it. Like, a lot. When Sonic 3D Blast came out afterwards I played that more and never looked back at Knuckles' Chaotix. I kept playing my other Genesis Sonic games until the Dreamcast came around. When I got my Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure I noticed the lack of the Chaotix and other characters, but I simply felt like they had yet to roll them out. I saw plenty of fanart online of others' interpretations of what they thought the Chaotix would look like in mockup art of "Knuckles Adventure," which was pretty cool to see as a kid. Then in 2003 when Sonic Heroes was announced and screenshots were revealed online and in gaming magazines, I immediately knew who they were despite the redesigns. Even though it looked like Vector got smashed by an elevator, I thought it was cool to see them again. I was so excited to hear what their voices would sound like, and once Heroes came out I wasn't disappointed... until they wouldn't ever shut up lol. Either way, I didn't like their original game, I didn't like their gameplay in Heroes, but I still like them as characters. They're pretty sweet.
I played SegaSonic the hedgehog on an emulator does that count? 😅 Anyway, I believe that the experience of playing the game on an actual arcade cabinet is much better!
@@sonicmaiden2871 I know that Sonic the Fighters is in Lost Judgement (the Yakuza series is not really My cup of tea I'm more into Sega's older IPs back when They made consoles aswell as Shin Megami Tensei and Persona) but Sega-Altus should team up with Hamster to get those games as part of Arcade Archives, if so I'm so going to get them on Nintendo Switch just so I can play them on the go and should know of Mighty, Ray, Bean and Bark's origins

I like sega's more cartoony and arcady games like Crazy taxi, Jet set radio, Puyo puyo, Sonic, Super monkey ball, Billy the Hatcher, Nights and Daytona USA. I also like the Persona games but I only played the 3rd and 4th ones so far. I would love seeing more Sega games getting ported on newer hardware! Also I'm looking forward for Persona 4 arena on Steam! I hope that the game will do well and we'll get more Sega and Atlus games ported in the future! A Steam port of Persona 5 would be really cool in my opinion!

Fleetway didn't have to worry about that because... I guess the writers had future vision and perfectly predicted Modern Charmy's personality a whole decade before Heroes.

This video made me realise that Knuckles' Chaotix has never been re-released. Not even in Gems Collection or newer compilation titles. I know that game is average at best but I don't think it should be forgotten given three recurring characters came from it (and not Heroes like 99% of us thought).

@@bigmacsama If I could ask Christian Whitehead to remake any game and perhaps expand upon it, my answer would always be Knuckles Chaotix, S3&K got many chances on other Collections, heck in the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection, The Darkstalkers series along with Red Earth Earth and Cyberbots are getting another chance in a collection while the later two are getting a first home console release.
I kinda hope that Knuckles will become popular again as the character with his show and the second movie and there will be Knuckle’s Chaotix 2 with some backstory
I really do love Team Chaotix especially in Heroes. You have the other teams trying to get a hold of Eggman for important reasons and then you have these goofs who need to pay the rent. They serve as great comic relief and have amazing banter. Vector's the loud mouthed muscle who has an eye for money but a heart of gold and is actually an amazing detective. Espio is the cool ninja who always has a level head. And Charmy's like that one little brother. Annoying at times but you really can't imagine the team without him. All three come together to become a very awesome group that never stops giving me a good laugh. Also, best Team theme in Heroes but there wasn't much debate there.
Oof I have a current conflict between Team Chaotix's theme with Team Dark's theme songs which I both love and cannot choose which is a better song than the other for me at all. Also Team Rose and Team Sonic's song themes are decent, with Team Sonic's theme sounding like the cheesiest cheesy cheese balls of a song than any other Sonic song and music that I ever heard thus far, Cheesier than any other but it was decent enough to listen to for me, though every time I heard it I be like " Huh? * Gasp! * CHEESY CHEESEBALLS! ".

"Follow Me" is a good song, too, and, yes, "We Can" is a towering four-cheese pizza with extra cheese. It lacks the hard rock edge and cool factor the two versions of "It Doesn't Matter" had.
It's still chaotic that "classic" versions of the Chaotix don't exist yet Knuckles Chaotix is still "canon" yet more proof Sonic lore is nonsense! At least how Sega officially presented it, fanon is actually coherent tbh.
The Chaotix game is most likely canon only to the Classic Dimension. Whereas their first appearance in the Modern Dimension was in Sonic Heroes. The split between both dimensions was caused in Generations, the modern one followed with Sonic 3, then Sonic & Knuckles, then Pocket Adventure, then Sonic 4 and then Adventure 1 and so on. The classic one followed with 3 & Knuckles (since the Super Emeralds are in mania), then Triple Trouble, then many other filler Game Gear and Saturn games until it reached Mania.

@@lpfan4491 It would make sense for Black Doom to still be alive in the Classic dimension, which also means that Shadow is sleeping in a pod. Unless the creation of the Classic dimension was more like Blaze's Chaos Control at the end of 06, where she ended up creating the Sol Dimension, which is mostly unrelated to the Modern Dimension.

I'm just going to point this out, Charmy Bee being 16 was either a mistranslation or a typo in the American manual, in the Japanese manual he was always 6.
It's funny that you mention it, because in the Final Story of Shadow The Hedgehog, Team Chaotix hack into the ARK's database to recover a recording of Gerald Robotnik's plan to counteract the Black Arms which also includes words of support from him and Maria to Shadow, which is exactly what Shadow needed to break out of Black Dooms control. So technically, Team Chaotix are more essential to Shadow The Hedgehog's story than any of the other heroes.
Rumor has it that Mighty was created for the very first game. As both armadillos and hedgehogs can curl into a ball, Mighty and Sonic were considered to be the protagonist. But ultimately Sonic became the hero and the game was named Sonic the Hedgehog after him. But it could be the other way around. Also, in "Shadow the Hedgehog" Team Chaotix actually does have a story. They are the ones who find the last recording of Maria and Gerald and translate it to Shadow in Final Story.
Team Hooligan has actually been getting some love lately! Especially in that 30th Anniversary Classic Sonic comic that came out a little while ago. I hope it's a sign that we may see more of them in future~
There are scrap concepts from Heroes about bringing back Team Hooligan as well as Mighty and Ray to pair with Metal Sonic to form a team but they were scrapped in the end.
I wish Mighty and Ray become recurring characters going forward. The Sonic roster’s last recurring character has been Zavok unfortunately and they need more fresh blood
I don't know if this is a well-known fact, but Sharps the Parakeet, Max the Monkey and Mach the Rabbit all appear as part of Mina the Mongoose's band in the Archie comics
Mighty doesn't just cameo in the Fleetway comics, he's a full member of the Chaotix Crew. They are guardians of the Special Zone and while they team up with Knuckles and later Sonic to take down the Brotherhood of Metallix, after that they have their own storylines as a Fantastic Four-esque team of superheroes who work well as a team but can barely stand being in the same room as each other. Since that comic ran until 2002 there wasn't too big of a gap or obscurity for Sonic fans in Ireland and the UK before they appeared in Heroes. Also I think The Chaotix Crew is a much better name than Team Chaotix.
I think 2 members of the Chaotix made a cameo in the Sonic Movie 2 Prequill comic, they were mostly hidden in the background but now we know they EXIST in the sonic movie universe. Considering the Knuckles Spinoff is coming up, I can’t wait to see what role the Chaotix will play in the spinoff series!
I absolutely love Knuckles Chaotix for what it is, I don’t mind the tether mechanic, in fact it gives it it’s own identity and is actually good for if you’re playing with a 2nd Player and that player doesn’t run off-screen and get lost since the main focus is on Player 1. I really wish the game could get a second chance like S3&K did on collections, Also Charmy is one of the most OP Sonic Characters next to Cream. *Whoisthisgit* Watchers will understand.
When I play Sonic Classic Heroes I like picking Team Chaotix just due to Charmy’s op nature. The youngest characters in this franchise tend to be the strongest...

I LOVE the chaotix. Easily some of the best characters in this series. I love everything about them, and whenever they are around, my main thought is “everyone make way for THE BOYS.” But there is still one problem. They aren’t exactly written the greatest nowadays. In the past they were genuinely funny. Like how vector has this crush for cream’s mom, the way Espio questions certain jobs but the others don’t give a shit as long as it pays, etc. but nowadays they’re just extremely boring. We didn’t get ANYTHING interesting from them in sonic forces or generations, and TSR only had vector show up in the story, so it just felt like there was a hole that needed to be filled. I really hope they get their charisma back, because I really miss the ol’ squad

I really like the chaotix, i was aware of them before playing sonic heroes when i was a kid cause im just that big of a sonic nerd. Mighty is one of my favorite characters from the franchise and it suchs not seeing him in any modern games. I mean it was cool having him appear consistently in the archie comics i still miss not seeing him .The fandom still holds love for him though so thats great, sega may forget about its characters but the fandom never leaves a character behind.
Would love to see more videos on forgotten characters. Not as versed in classic era Sonic lore, so my first go to would be the Babylon Rogues. Would go nuts if they came back in a game.

In IDW after the Metal Virus it seems Hesse and Flynn sparked that Vector x Vanilla ship with the "Please, Call me Vanilla" panel she straight up flirting with him. Too bad it hasn't gone anywhere because it probably has something to do with some lame restriction SEGA has in the license agreement. I just wish these silly restrictions SEGA had placed on Flynn were lifted so he can really go back and do some interesting things like he did in his run at Archie. Hopefully Frontiers story can flourish and convince SEGA to give Flynn more leeway to really have these characters grow and change overtime.
Imagine a spin-off starring the Chaotix in the style of a point and click detective adventure game. Or maybe not point and click, but something similar to detective-type games. I'd play it (if done right lol)

I thoughts about them, they are amazing and one of my favorite members of their team (ft. Espio, Charmy, and Vector). Oh, I love theme song of Team Chaotix from Sonic Heroes, it was very rock in. 🤘🏽😎
mighty wasn't even supposed to appear in chaotix, he was only added since they originally planned for sonic and tails to star in the game, and mighty was basically a sonic recolour... that's also where we get the forbidden wechnia.
but yeah kinda weird how mighty of all characters makes an appearance that lowkey makes him seem like he's out of place and a last-minute resort. from what i've heard, tho, the plot for chaotix has it that they were a bunch of random people who just got there, and it's... sweet. like how vector, espio and charmy became so close they went as far as making their own detective agency, and mighty went on to travel, cus, well. he's a traveller, with ray being the tails counterpart. too bad they had to travel for 2 decades, and only the devil knows if they'll appear in a sonic game again, be it the highly unlikely modern incarnation or the classic one.... ( UGH I HATE TAKASHI IIZUKA WITH THIS DUMBASS REASONING HE GOT "well they're classic-exclusive characters" ) but anyway. it's sonic, everything is canon, so maybe, those archie and fleetway adventures are indeed real deal, with mighty and ray mostly exploring the world, but also occasionally visiting their old buddies.
I really want to see Mighty in the modern games, him and Ray. I mean, Archie already took care of updating their designs, so why not add them in? I’d be fine with them either as their own group or (preferably) as new editions to the Chaotix detective agency.
The Chaotix might just be the most hype for a return! They are well-made characters, whose personalities go well with each other! Espio, the sensible, stealthy one. Vector, the greedy, caring one. and Charmy. he exists. and no matter what happens... Mighty should be brought back.
I cannot tell you how many times I've replayed Chaotix's story in Heroes... probably dozens! But like all the Sonic games I played, never beat it sadly 😞

Surprised that Heavy and Bomb weren't mentioned considering they were playable in Knuckles' Chaotix, I was always figured they were part of the classic iteration of the team for that reason.
I've heard of the Chaotix and Mighty though this defuncted Sonic fan site back in the 2000s and was thrilled to see Them in Sonic Heroes. IMO These Guys (aside from Orbot and Cubot) are comedy done right and really serve as great comic relief characters (kinda like Ed Edd N Eddy), I got to play Knuckles Chaotix on an emulator and It got boring for awhile I like Espio BC He's the level head of the group and never lost His cool (only in issue 24 of the IDW comics here He lost His cool) I think aside from Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Cream and Cheese, Gemerl, Silver, Blaze and Marine They serve as great side characters for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and really adds to the cast, Also Vector was in Sonic Boom but sadly He didn't team up with Knuckles or had Espio and Charmy with Him
Did you know:in Knuckles Chaotix USA manual, Vector is stated to be christian, and on the older comics, Charmy suffered an bunch, had an friend died of LSD overdose, Eggman killed his family, and he got brain damaged

Let's not forget that Dr Starline was based on the secret glitch character in Knuckles Chaotix. The game has given much to the Sonic Franchise.

This video made me realise that Knuckles' Chaotix has never been re-released. Not even in Gems Collection or newer compilation titles. I know that game is average at best but I don't think it should be forgotten given three recurring characters came from it (and not Heroes like 99% of us thought).
It deserves a re-release and be remastered; all done by Christian Whitehead and Tee Lopes and so on.

Chaotix was actually supposed to be in Gems collection but apparently 32X emulation was too difficult at the time

If I could ask Christian Whitehead to remake any game and perhaps expand upon it, my answer would always be Knuckles Chaotix, S3&K got many chances on other Collections, heck in the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection, The Darkstalkers series along with Red Earth Earth and Cyberbots are getting another chance in a collection while the later two are getting a first home console release.
I kinda hope that Knuckles will become popular again as the character with his show and the second movie and there will be Knuckle’s Chaotix 2 with some backstory
I really do love Team Chaotix especially in Heroes. You have the other teams trying to get a hold of Eggman for important reasons and then you have these goofs who need to pay the rent. They serve as great comic relief and have amazing banter. Vector's the loud mouthed muscle who has an eye for money but a heart of gold and is actually an amazing detective. Espio is the cool ninja who always has a level head. And Charmy's like that one little brother. Annoying at times but you really can't imagine the team without him. All three come together to become a very awesome group that never stops giving me a good laugh. Also, best Team theme in Heroes but there wasn't much debate there.
Oof I have a current conflict between Team Chaotix's theme with Team Dark's theme songs which I both love and cannot choose which is a better song than the other for me at all. Also Team Rose and Team Sonic's song themes are decent, with Team Sonic's theme sounding like the cheesiest cheesy cheese balls of a song than any other Sonic song and music that I ever heard thus far, Cheesier than any other but it was decent enough to listen to for me, though every time I heard it I be like " Huh? * Gasp! * CHEESY CHEESEBALLS! ".
@@majixajinxix12chartdisplay33 Yeah, "This Machine" and "Team Chaotix" are both bangers, but "This Machine" slightly edges out (no pun intended) "Team Chaotix" for me. Both are great, though. "Follow Me" is a good song, too, and, yes, "We Can" is a towering four-cheese pizza with extra cheese. It lacks the hard rock edge and cool factor the two versions of "It Doesn't Matter" had.

The Chaotix game is most likely canon only to the Classic Dimension. Whereas their first appearance in the Modern Dimension was in Sonic Heroes.
The split between both dimensions was caused in Generations, the modern one followed with Sonic 3, then Sonic & Knuckles, then Pocket Adventure, then Sonic 4 and then Adventure 1 and so on.
The classic one followed with 3 & Knuckles (since the Super Emeralds are in mania), then Triple Trouble, then many other filler Game Gear and Saturn games until it reached Mania.

Unless the creation of the Classic dimension was more like Blaze's Chaos Control at the end of 06, where she ended up creating the Sol Dimension, which is mostly unrelated to the Modern Dimension.

I'm just going to point this out, Charmy Bee being 16 was either a mistranslation or a typo in the American manual, in the Japanese manual he was always 6.
It's funny that you mention it, because in the Final Story of Shadow The Hedgehog, Team Chaotix hack into the ARK's database to recover a recording of Gerald Robotnik's plan to counteract the Black Arms which also includes words of support from him and Maria to Shadow, which is exactly what Shadow needed to break out of Black Dooms control. So technically, Team Chaotix are more essential to Shadow The Hedgehog's story than any of the other heroes.

I love their Sonic Heroes theme. It describes their traits very well.
Rumor has it that Mighty was created for the very first game. As both armadillos and hedgehogs can curl into a ball, Mighty and Sonic were considered to be the protagonist. But ultimately Sonic became the hero and the game was named Sonic the Hedgehog after him. But it could be the other way around.
Also, in "Shadow the Hedgehog" Team Chaotix actually does have a story. They are the ones who find the last recording of Maria and Gerald and translate it to Shadow in Final Story.
Team Hooligan has actually been getting some love lately! Especially in that 30th Anniversary Classic Sonic comic that came out a little while ago. I hope it's a sign that we may see more of them in future~
There are scrap concepts from Heroes about bringing back Team Hooligan as well as Mighty and Ray to pair with Metal Sonic to form a team but they were scrapped in the end.

Mighty doesn't just cameo in the Fleetway comics, he's a full member of the Chaotix Crew. They are guardians of the Special Zone and while they team up with Knuckles and later Sonic to take down the Brotherhood of Metallix, after that they have their own storylines as a Fantastic Four-esque team of superheroes who work well as a team but can barely stand being in the same room as each other. Since that comic ran until 2002 there wasn't too big of a gap or obscurity for Sonic fans in Ireland and the UK before they appeared in Heroes.
Also I think The Chaotix Crew is a much better name than Team Chaotix.

I think 2 members of the Chaotix made a cameo in the Sonic Movie 2 Prequill comic, they were mostly hidden in the background but now we know they EXIST in the sonic movie universe. Considering the Knuckles Spinoff is coming up, I can’t wait to see what role the Chaotix will play in the spinoff series!

I absolutely love Knuckles Chaotix for what it is, I don’t mind the tether mechanic, in fact it gives it it’s own identity and is actually good for if you’re playing with a 2nd Player and that player doesn’t run off-screen and get lost since the main focus is on Player 1. I really wish the game could get a second chance like S3&K did on collections, Also Charmy is one of the most OP Sonic Characters next to Cream. *Whoisthisgit* Watchers will understand.
When I play Sonic Classic Heroes I like picking Team Chaotix just due to Charmy’s op nature. The youngest characters in this franchise tend to be the strongest...

I miss Knuckles' Chaotix I just wish I had a Genesis back then even with a 32X.
I LOVE the chaotix. Easily some of the best characters in this series. I love everything about them, and whenever they are around, my main thought is “everyone make way for THE BOYS.”
But there is still one problem. They aren’t exactly written the greatest nowadays. In the past they were genuinely funny. Like how vector has this crush for cream’s mom, the way Espio questions certain jobs but the others don’t give a shit as long as it pays, etc. but nowadays they’re just extremely boring. We didn’t get ANYTHING interesting from them in sonic forces or generations, and TSR only had vector show up in the story, so it just felt like there was a hole that needed to be filled. I really hope they get their charisma back, because I really miss the ol’ squad

Anyone else find it funny how Vector has made quite a few appearances by himself rather then with the team, guy had both cameos and an entire episode literally named after him in the TV show, Sonic Boom and when Team Silver needed a 3rd member in team sonic racing, they got Vector to fill that spot and his car looks sweet😎, what's next, a parody of Lyle Lyle Crocodile ft. Good video - I love chaotix, currently collecting the team with the new Jakks figures - mighty, vector and espio so far, just awaiting charmy. I hope they make nack the weasel as in Fleetways STC nack was on the team for a short while. Espio is my favourite
I really like the chaotix, i was aware of them before playing sonic heroes when i was a kid cause im just that big of a sonic nerd. Mighty is one of my favorite characters from the franchise and it suchs not seeing him in any modern games. I mean it was cool having him appear consistently in the archie comics i still miss not seeing him .The fandom still holds love for him though so thats great, sega may forget about its characters but the fandom never leaves a character behind.

In IDW after the Metal Virus it seems Hesse and Flynn sparked that Vector x Vanilla ship with the "Please, Call me Vanilla" panel she straight up flirting with him. Too bad it hasn't gone anywhere because it probably has something to do with some lame restriction SEGA has in the license agreement.
I just wish these silly restrictions SEGA had placed on Flynn were lifted so he can really go back and do some interesting things like he did in his run at Archie. Hopefully Frontiers story can flourish and convince SEGA to give Flynn more leeway to really have these characters grow and change overtime.
Imagine a spin-off starring the Chaotix in the style of a point and click detective adventure game. Or maybe not point and click, but something similar to detective-type games. I'd play it (if done right lol)

I remember the Team Choatix when I first saw them was a kid by watching RUclips, have my old sonic comics, and action figures for a long time. I thoughts about them, they are amazing and one of my favorite members of their team (ft. Espio, Charmy, and Vector). Oh, I love theme song of Team Chaotix from Sonic Heroes, it was very rock in. 🤘🏽😎

mighty wasn't even supposed to appear in chaotix, he was only added since they originally planned for sonic and tails to star in the game, and mighty was basically a sonic recolour...

like how vector, espio and charmy became so close they went as far as making their own detective agency, and mighty went on to travel, cus, well. he's a traveller, with ray being the tails counterpart. too bad they had to travel for 2 decades, and only the devil knows if they'll appear in a sonic game again, be it the highly unlikely modern incarnation or the classic one.... but anyway. it's sonic, everything is canon, so maybe, those archie and fleetway adventures are indeed real deal, with mighty and ray mostly exploring the world, but also occasionally visiting their old buddies.
I really want to see Mighty in the modern games, him and Ray. I mean, Archie already took care of updating their designs, so why not add them in? I’d be fine with them either as their own group or (preferably) as new editions to the Chaotix detective agency.

Surprised that Heavy and Bomb weren't mentioned considering they were playable in Knuckles' Chaotix, I was always figured they were part of the classic iteration of the team for that reason.

I've heard of the Chaotix and Mighty though this defuncted Sonic fan site back in the 2000s and was thrilled to see Them in Sonic Heroes. IMO These Guys (aside from Orbot and Cubot) are comedy done right and really serve as great comic relief characters (kinda like Ed Edd N Eddy), I got to play Knuckles Chaotix on an emulator and It got boring for awhile I like Espio BC He's the level head of the group and never lost His cool (only in issue 24 of the IDW comics here He lost His cool)
I think aside from Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Cream and Cheese, Gemerl, Silver, Blaze and Marine They serve as great side characters for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and really adds to the cast, Also Vector was in Sonic Boom but sadly He didn't team up with Knuckles or had Espio and Charmy with Him
Did you know:in Knuckles Chaotix USA manual, Vector is stated to be christian, and on the older comics, Charmy suffered an bunch, had an friend died of LSD overdose, Eggman killed his family, and he got brain damaged
