The doze of thyroxine is 1.6 ug /kg in adults.
The target TSH be kept in the lower half of the normal range ie 1-2 mIu /L.

Thanks for your videos, you are an amazing educator! I was wondering why macroglossia and constipation develops in hypothyroidism. Is there an embryological tie-in, maybe d/t over stimulation of TSH receptors? Thanks again in advance.

But goitre is rather the exception with Hashimoto's because the thyroid is lame. DD iodine deficiency more likely here. Great video as always!

Minute 6-7: Secondary/ Tertiary hypothyroidism has low TSH/ TRH (respectively), and low T3/ T4. Small spelling mistake probably. Incredible lectures. Listen to them while driving :)

    Sadly, still recommends only levothyroxine☹️
Even though we all know that T3 is the Active form that would give much more effective relief and correction.

so is hypothyroidism related to thyroid cancer? I've recently got blood work which will be in tomorrow I've had problems with losing my voice for 6 weeks and cough , weight gain , infertility , emotional issues , hair loss, acne on my thighs and chest and unusual hair growth on my thighs as well ... also severe fatigue... my doctor never even looked at my neck or felt it but told me she thinks it's thyroid related and left it at that

    T3 is 1.39 nmol/L
    T4 is 91.17 nmol/L
    TSH is 31.77 ulU/ml
    Is hypo or hyper?
