You are 100% correct about the heat issue. I watched a special forces operator go down during training in Fort Polk Louisiana for heat causality. I was there from Alaska. Never felt heat like that and humidity was disgusting.

  • @robohippy

Make sure you stay well hydrated! It is a tricky thing. Gatorade is pretty thick which makes it harder for your system to absorb. If you want to dilute it, use club soda. The carbonation makes it easier for you to absorb. Me, if I was there in that heat, I would need 2 to 3 gallons of fluids, and I wouldn't have to pee.... You need salt which is the first electrolyte to deplete on just about every one. If you start cramping, time to go home, and continue taking in electrolytes so you don't wake up at night with cramps. Hate that.....

Dutch trick to handle eels more easily: either drop it in a bucket with salt, or rub salt all over it, let it soak in for a bit, and then rub off the slime. Plus, the salt might attract fish!

Well, the only guidelines I think you'll have to consider is that because they are a foreign species (if you use the ones I have, which are conger eels) you'll have to gut them before use and only use them dead.
Considering they cost about $20 per pound, there's not really any advantage to using them ( unless you're making a RUclips video and need a good title and thumbnail)
My best luck for catfish in Houston has always been big live bluegill

This doesn’t feel like a fishing video, and aren’t you worried of getting bitten by chiggers?

That's good, I want to transition to a wider genre of outdoor and wildlife videos

As usual, an excellent video with sound, logical advice. Hot in Ok lately too. Only able to fish before 9am. Where do you get the hook pictured in the thumbnail? Thanks.

The hook is a BKK Lonediablo Single Hook. I get mine from Fishing Tackle Unlimited. Bass Pro has them online too.

@@wildlifefishingshow Yes. Looked at Bass Pro and none were on the shelves surprisingly, they claimed they didn't know what I was talking about when I said it was an "inline" hook. I'll look online. Thanks.

Heat definitely seems worse this year, I'm just not fishing right now at all. Speaking of Heat and Al Pacino, there's a really good channel called Popo Medic, he covered the true story behind that film which happened in the 1960's-->ruclips.net/video/1e_gCVJI5h0/видео.html
