  • With a good weather window over the next couple of days we decided to load up the Stabicraft with all the fishing gear and steam our way up to D'Urville Island for an overnight adventure chasing Snapper and Kingfish with the dogs on board. As we all know fishing doesn't always go to plan and this trip was no different. The Kingfish played hard to get for us but somehow I managed to set the new boat record for the biggest Snapper which made the trip.

Great video team - quick question, when you're fishing the Baku's, do you just wind them through a certain depth and redrop them? Guessing you aren't winding them all the way up and then dropping back down?

Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. With the Baku’s I’m looking at the sounder for sign and dropping to the bottom then winding through that sign to maybe around 5m above then drop back down. I’f there isn’t a huge amount of sign then I’ll window around 10m off the bottom

Hey mate give us a message on instagram and we can discuss further there.
But to answer your question shortly, I absolutely love this 2250 mate like it’s an incredible fishing weapon which we overnight on it fine as well. Having the walk around is a game changer which we can have 6 lads bottom fishing easy as. The other month we had 5 of us casting top water lures all around the boat. I was worried about waves coming over the bow but honestly iv had this boat in some pretty shit conditions and havnt yet been able to get one over the bow and iv tried. In reverse it’s another level, boat is also so stable, we had 4 of us lads bringing in a king the other day all one side with out it even leaving over. So far I’m really liking the merc too, cruising at 51kmph burning 39lph.
Flip us a message mate and happy to give you a ring to go over more detail if you like too.
