Well I can tell you an interesting story my old Fishtank at my parents house had to red crabs I left home at 17.. when I was 41 I took over my parents house sort of a house swap easier for my mum.. The tank was still there and absolutely solid with vegetation no water changes no fish added just the heater in the light on. I think they just used it as a light in the room. So we moved in with the kids poured half of the plants out did a water change but didn’t disturb the plants at the back for the substrate.. We could not believe it when one of the red crabs reappeared quite large 24 years later

Mark have you ever kept the dwarf African clawed Frogs? 5 - 10 gallons filled to 8 - 10 inches deep with water, and large sized substrate, so they don't swallow any sand, in a well planted tank with wood and botanicals, and some nano fish, and they wil breed. The males even sing! a sponge filter, a light, and a heater is all you need for electrical equipment.
Nice stuff. Looks good. Is it not a risk that those plant bags will go way to anaerobic? It would be an interesting experiment to see how long brine shrimp would last in there.

this is by far the most beautiful crabtank i ever saw. I love these creatures but didnt like Tanks with 50% water in it... This solution is amazing! would you share specific measurements and equipment needed to rebuild this style of the tank? maybe in a further video! thumbs up!
I love this tank,there is a volcano tank on you tube somewhere might be worth a look ,he has all sorts in it, ..it will be lovely to watch this tank mature .. I bought crabs for my tank years ago ,I filled it up to much after a water change next day gone..never did find them,I think the dog eat them ☺

Hi Mark that looks great. Be careful though they can't climb up the side but they can jump. Unfortunately my two died because I didn't know much back then and had them in fresh water but they would jump from one rock to another about 3 inches. Would like to try again one day.

There's no edges or silicone to climb up so there safe.
