I love the transition from day 1 to day 150. Seeing how you built it was nice, but seeing how it turned out after 150 days was really awesome. Plants grew in really well, and it looks like a small section of a real world area.
as a guy who had kept freshwater crabs like vampire crabs for more then 10 years, this is one of the few tank building video that i will give 'OK' , and i really like your choice of vampire crabs as well, geosesarna sp red ruby would like some water so it's really a great choice
@@calliew311 english is not my 1st language, so i couldn't think of any good words about it. What i ment for 'ok' is good enough to keep vcs very well with low maintenance, and they will thrive in that tank. Well because there so so many terrible tank builds for vcs in the internet which i won't say 'ok' so i said i will say 'ok' for this one. Many plants so it looks good for human is not important, and huge space is also not that important if you give them a right setting, But the build in this video gave them a right setting so it's 'ok' I guess it gave them a huge space for a bouns so i could have said some better words but couldn't though about anything better to say
WOW!!!!!! Beautiful build!!!! In my opinion, this goes beyond animal care and becomes its own form of artistry, at your skill level. Incredible job!!!!
Ooh I like the use of cork and how you broke off the edges for the transition. I love how it turned out after carving through it! This build was masterclass. Learned so many cool tricks and techniques. You did such an impeccable job!
This ecosystem build is absolutely incredible! 🦀🌿 The attention to detail and creativity in designing a habitat for vampire crabs is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing this amazing project! 🌟👏
Absolutely stunning. Thanks for the video showing in detail the set up and life introduced. Wish all people would be so understanding and caring what animals need to feel comfy. Very well done. Greetings from Germany
This build turned out absolutely Beautiful! My personal suggestion for an addition is whatever other animals the crabs eat. If they do actually eat meat that is 😂 I’d love to see a running series of the tank and all the interactions of the different creatures who live there.
POMPOM CRABS!!! They spend most of their day in burrows under water In the substrate/between rocks. They come out at night to explore the land areas. They are entertaining to watch. IF you get them, set up a security camera that records constantly. Around 2 am they go crazy. 🤪
I love the set up in there, it's looking amazing. I think you could benefit the tank by adding crickets to the land section too, they can help keep the plants trimmed a bit and also the vampire crabs love to eat crickets
i want to build a paludarium just so I can have floating plants, and also a bunch of other plants! your tanks flora is absolutely gorgeous, and i'ts filled in amazingly.
I a, blown away!!! You did a magnificent job creating this ecosystem!!! It gave me great ideas for a tank for Betta fish community, just as they would in the wild. Thank you for sharing! God bless🤗♥️🙏
Absolutely gorgeous!! Loved the cork build out, it looked so natural. The creeping fig and the mini palm tree with it's field of monte carlo were the stand outs for me. It'd kind of be interesting to see the rasboras switched out for pea puffers.
We’ll, they are actually growing mostly above water in the wild. We’re used to seeing them under water in the hobby, but it’ sure is a refreshing change to see them this way!
I wish i have enough money to build 1 on my own.. I love seeing this. But as a family that have only what we eat for the day, this is a dream that may never come true 😢
I love it ! It’s AMAZING AND VERY BEAUTIFUL! The land scape and plants are perfect and the fish are really enjoying it ! I really liked. Watching you build it up it’s very creative
Never watched one of these before now I'm going to be watching a lot of them LOL I don't have the patience to do this as we have a rescue critters already take up all my time lol. But I swear this is awesome and I got to say my favorite part of this setup is from the front middle to the front left of the tank, I really love the way that extra pump has created a little whirlpool eddy that looks like tiny lily pads swirling around and around. Awesome work.
I'm planning out a 75g paludarium for a group of Asian banded bullfrogs. This is fantastic inspiration for it, thank you. I especially like how you made the shallow bay area and used the natural shape of the driftwood to create your waterfall, I'd definitely like to incorporate similar into mine.
One of the best paludarium builds I've seen! Really appreciate your crafty approach to everything all the way down to the fans. Have you measured the humidity levels? Does the soil on the left side get saturated with water? Thanks!
"Nice" ! I like the way you use the cork bark for the background. I've seen so many builds where they use spray foam and then have to do a lot of carving. I like your method far better.
I had Christmas Moss in my old 29 gallon. Started out with a few chunks I placed at the bottom of the uplift tubes for the under gravel filter. A good eight months later not only were the uplift tubes covered, but most of the back of the tank too. Stuff grows like wild once it gets established. I keep Shubunkins now in a 40 breeder and they eat it all, so no more moss
That's an amazing paludarium! It's also great to see the progress in the same video. Usually the creators are not patient and the video stops on day one right after the setup is finished. What are the water parameters? In my experience tap water will ruin the plants on the waterfall, but can the animals live in RO water?
Doesn't cork panels get mold and decay in such a humid enviroment? In my humid terrarium all wood after 7 years turned into peat, and under water it lost more 50% of volume because it was slowly eaten away by bacteria.
I love the cork boards as a backdrop! So much easier and cheaper than the foam! And it’s a natural absorbent and fungus resistant! No need to paint it.
Beautiful design. I'm curious I have a southern leapard frog and a tadpole of the same type of frog and I'm wondering if its possible to design a palladium for both of them to grow up in.
This looks awesome! I've gotten interested in making my own paludarium for crabs, but I'm very new and know very little on how to start. I'm not sure on what to use and what's compatible with what, so I wanted to ask if you had any tips and if you know where I can go for an in-depth explanation on how to get into the hobby
Great looking! Awesome build. One question. I'm planning on something similar. Can't seem to find an answer searching through various sites. Do you reckon a paludarium needs a dedicated filter part? Or the leca and rocks etc are enough for bacterial colonies to form biological filtration?
after years of watching these types of videos.... I still think cork is the easiest and most natural looking material to work with when making a background. This one turned out really good. it also looked pretty easy and fun to make unlike the expanding foam nightmares ppl still do for some reason
Hello! I want to know what is used to make the cork mats. Do you know? How do they glue all those pieces together, and is that glue safe? I might be missing something but I'd love to get this info. I was about to buy a couple of these cork bark mats in a furniture store a while ago but stopped myself because of possible chemicals in them.
@@loftir-koftir Good question! you have to get the compressed tiles. they take scrap pieces and press them together under high pressure. the cork naturally stays together. they also heat treat it
@@billsmith1998 Yeah. if you or anyone know of the pieces that are simply pressed then please link for me. I find mats of cork that have binding adhesives in them!
