Here is an uptempo song that was first recorded for Willie's 1970 RCA album "Both Sides Now" with the title "Bloody Merry Morning". It was recorded again for the concept album "Phases & Stages" (1974). Until now there are some other versions out there as well as many covers (as by the "Supersuckers").
In Willie's live performances, he is always doing an extended jam session on this song. I tried to get the spirit of it, but it was hard to record, because it stays in G all the time and you don't know when to go back to the bridge if you don't count the bars LOL, and my "twin" can't play with me, I have to play with him... ;-). So that was the hardest part, to know where I am and to find the right way out of the solo... Hope you like it.
I rcorded it on a very hot day (I felt as if I was in Texas ;-)), so I am sorry that I look so sweaty! ;-)

Loved it Andy excellent cover beautifully sung and played and performed Willie would love your cover I have not been on you tube much lately as my 87 year old Mother died recently and I have been grieving and missing her but at least I know that she is with the Lord and with my Dad again and I will be back on you tube and making music again in a few weeks when I am feeling a bit better about life bless you always Andy your friend Phil .

Hey Andy, ein schöner flotter Song mit wieder einmal super gespielter Gitarre. Bei uns in NRW hat ja das Wasser gewütet. Wir in unserem kleinen Altena im Sauerland sind total abgesoffen. Zum Glück nicht unser Haus, sondern nur die Kellerräume. Ringsherum alles Chaos. Leider zwei Feuerwehrleute verstorben, uns geht es zum Glück gut. Alles andere ist irgendwie zu ersetzen. Ja, ich musste oft an meine Freunde und Bekannten in den betroffenen Gebieten denken - wirklich schlimm, was passiert ist! Ich bin froh zu hören, dass es euch gut geht und ihr nicht den aller größten Schaden habt! Aber trotzdem ist es natürlich etwas, was einen komplett aus dem Alltag reißt.
Hier in Berlin ist es zurzeit "normal" sommerlich, etwas schwül, an einigen Tagen gab es auch Regen, aber kein Vergleich zu dem, was bei euch los ist.
Ich wünsche euch, dass ihr die Schäden schnell im Griff habt und das Chaos beseitigt wird... und vor allem, dass es keine weiteren Toten mehr gibt.

Hallo Karen, ja, der Song hat ordentlich Tempo, ich fand den Soloteil immer sehr interessant, der gute Willie spielt ihn jedes Mal etwas anders, nutzt es quasi als "Jam Session". Habe hierbei viel gelernt, das Bending etwas länger zu halten war gar nicht so einfach und bedurfte einiger Übung... Ich danke Dir ganz herzlich, schön, dass Du wieder da bist, da macht RUclips gleich noch mal mehr Spaß!

Übrigens tropfe ich in meinem Upload auch vor mich hin :-)
Ich hatte zuerst die Stahlsaiten genommen, sie hatten aber nicht das richtige Feeling, klangen in diesem Fall ein wenig zu "schwingend". Mit den Nylonsaiten gefällt es mir in dem Fall viel besser, was selten der Fall ist, aber es kommt tatsächlich auf den Song an.
