I bought the 7'1" mh f casting rod in May. The reel seat came loose from the rod two weeks ago. Fortunately the shop I bought it from exchanged it and I was back on the water the same day. It seems like others are having the same issue. Hopefully it was just a bad production lot and this isn't going to be an ongoing issue.
Just got the same rod waiting for it in the mail. One thing I had seen is the 5 year warranty thru st.croix. Its One of the reasons I got because I'm unlucky with rods
how many people put the blue accented slx reel on the old blue lettered bass x... what a beautiful combo...guess those days are over.. cant think of any reel that would look good on the new green.

I just bought the Shimano 2500 fg to pair with this. It looks amazing and I'm a no color type guy when it comes to rods and reels. Love the set up. I'd buy six more if I didn't go broke pairing these up lol

rod is ugly af ..but if I get more sensitivity than the old one for the same 100 bux . I may just hav to put a piece of blak tape on that section .because that SCll for 100 is tuff to beat. ...that phenix maxim is a hell of a rod too tho .and they look great! ...idk croix
the new decal is so disappionted to me. The former one is more official and better.
As a huge fan of the existing Bass X series aesthetic, I don't like the colorways of the new version. For what was a game changing rod at the $100 price point, you just lost me. I'm 36yo so not quite a "flat brimmer" but you need to appeal to the people who have the money to buy your products.
This is their cheapest bass rod made for the people who don't want to spend a lot on a rod. They're reaching their target audience with this which is people a lot younger than me and you.

Why would St Croix implement a new SCII Carbon, which features half aluminum oxide guides, but now stainless steel halfway through? You’re getting less of a rod for the relatively the same price, thus the blue Bass X were a lot better.
I will add to what the others are saying, these colors clash to much almost like mustard and ketchup, should have used any other complimentary colors. I don’t know why st croix always does amazing with the rods but doesn’t do that great on the graphics or color. Still going to buy them but they should quickly change the colors

St Croix should be embarrassed to have their name on these rods…purchased a bass x last summer and the reel seat broke within 2 or 3 times on the water…had the rod replaced didn’t fish at all the rest of year, took it out last week for the first time and reel seat broke on first trip back out on the replacement rod…it’s baffling that st croix continues to ship these rods that clearly are defected, tons of customers have had the same problem. It’s honestly just a joke to spend $120 on a rod that you literally can’t use…I’ve loved the st croix brand for a long time but I’ll be honest I’ll never buy another rod from st croix again dobyns or Diawa rods are a much much better option.
Honestly shame on tackle warehouse too for continuing to ship these rods you know are defective.

@@TackleWarehouse I’ll send it back but it’s more than likely going to happen again based off my experience and the countless other customers who’ve had the same happen. I know the warranty covers this but at what point do you let me exchange it for another brand? I’d rather have a dobyns fury at this point it’s the same price and I’ve never experienced a problem like this with them or any rod for that matter. Can you guys send me a dobyns fury medium heavy when I send this bass x back please?
