Been using my St. Croix Triumph for 15 years, it's a great rod.

My first st. Croix was a triumph. Broke the same way. Now I have an eyecon, 2 walleye legend tournaments, and a legend extreme! None of them have broken. Not to mention there warranty is outstanding!!

Same happened to me shortly after buying the BassX. They offered to replace it for free or pay the difference to go with the Mojo (which I did and that's been solid). Frustrating though.

yeah, I just put some epoxy on it and its been good since. I'm glad that fish wasn't a lunker. I would have had a problem.

I bought a ultra light 6' rod from them and caught several largemouths my biggest fish was 7.82 lb smallmouth on 6lb test while targeting trout [with this rod] Tbh every time I catch a larger fish I fear that it will snap and I'm shocked that it hasn't. I just bought the avid 66 medium power rod, definitely great quality. With fuji guides can't wait to test it out

@allbassedupfishing thanks! I was using a trout magnet. Which is a little soft plastic jig. Used to only use 4lb max but it definitely lowered my catch rate. I've found that quality fresh 6lb test is good most of the time until I start flipping top water chatterbaits and jigs...

We saw the exact same thing with many bassX models when I was working at fishing store. We returned so many for exactly the same reason. This what happens when an America company sells out

Bass X is also a bottom end rod from them. Those and the Triumph are made for people who don't want to spend the money on better quality.

Have any of y’all had these problems with the Blue Bass X series? I’ve had the 7’4 heavy fast action rod for about 2 years, 0 issues. I was thinking about buying this model but I’m definitely not now.

If man made it, it's subject to failure. My best friend bought a Daiwa Steeze $430 +/-, very first cast, the reel seat shattered. Why? who knows. I still used my $10 Garcia Conolon 6'6" spinning rod purchased in the 1963. The lettering is all gone but guides solid, cork shows its age, but it works just fine. Why, I've no idea. Rods fail, reels fail, really has nothing to do with brand, who made them or where they came from, they just come off the line with a dinky flaw. Pop happens, put your big boy pants on and keep fishing.

Bro I have the same exact rod!! It broke twice already. I bought it then broke after 3 months, I had to pay $25 for a replacement, I wait 6WEEKS!! Than I take the new rod fishing for the first time and it breaks after 30 minutes I had only caught 1 half pound smallmouth there rods are shit! Now I have to go through the process of filling out all the shit again, than 3 weeks for them to except my replacement cost me another $25, than another 6 weeks for them to ship the motherf. But they’re the best rods right lmao what a joke! The rods are so sensitive that they break after minimal use!

St croix rods have a worse reputation for breaking than junk Walmart rods😂.from walleye fisherman to bass fisherman I've seen thousands of broken st croix rods.if they didn't have good replacement policies they would absolutely suck.for the same price buy a veritas or Fenwick hmg.if u like broken rod tips and not enough glue on your cork handles choose st croix😂

People need to learn how to properly use rods. I observed you holding your rod pointing away from the casting location, which stresses the rod from the side (you destroyed the deflection).
