I just picked up this 7' Medium/Fast rod yesterday. I'm going to pair it up with Penn Battle III DX 4000 (on the way). It felt really good in my hands at the store and your video confirmed I made the right purchase. Although 50+, I'm new to fishing and this is my first rod ever. Appreciate anglers like you putting out informative contents for us wanting to take up the sport!
Hell yeah man, these rods are the best quality for your money on the market. That being said they aren't idiot-proof and I still managed to break mine whiles out barracuda fishing.
@@ken-mfishing4740 how did you brake it ?
Ty for posting the review. Helps out a lot. Keep up the hard work. Peace and love
No prob man, just getting started.
Just picked up the rod on tacklewarehouse for
70$ that’s a steal in my opinion
Wow your channel is brand new! Well you have excellent camera quality. Good luck, guy
Thx dude, it’s crazy what you can do with an iPhone these days 😂
I’m gonna go with 2 of these. Great video bro 💪🏾😎
Great review. Thx for posting it!
Hey man, great review! Shout out from Ottawa Ontario Canada. Nice production too.
I just grabbed a PS66MLF2 - 198.12 x 7.62 x 7.6 Classic Black Pearl Size 6’6" Mlf2.
I'm buying blind but I hope it's a good choice. I got an IRT 400DD reel that came in recently that I haven't even spooled, but I think that it might be a bit too much reel for the the rod I bought now.
Needless to say, I do fresh water fishing for the usual suspects; bass, perch, etc... But the idea was to have a little bit of a heavier set to act as a secondary trolling line off the 10ft Jon for pike and musky and use the live action lighter set up for casting out and "hunting". lol
Anyway, great video. Subscribed! Looking forward to more insight. Peace. Al
I got a triumph in like 2008 and it’s still one of my favorite rods , it’s a light action but I’ve caught everything from bluegills to muskies on it
Anyone who hasn't used a St. Croix will never believe someone who's used one for years. They're by far the best rods on the market compared to the price.
@@ken-mfishing4740 I got a 6.6 ft triumph 2021 edition by far the best medium light rod
Great review
Such good rods man. I have a 6'6" medium fast paired with a 2020 tatula ct. Love that little combo for jerk baits and top water. I'll throw just about anything on that little combo lol
Is it really sensitive to everything. Can you feel what your hitting underwater
Good review. This made me miss living in the Keys.
Just moved down here for fishing and heaven man.
Have 2 of them now for freshwater, one spinning one bait cast. Perfect rods for the price. St croix rods are my favorite of all time and go to
Same brother, definitely going through my product testing phase and St. Croix does not dissapoint.
Thanks for the review!
Nice review! Thank you.
Nice review :). More St. Croix !
More on the way!
Friend, Great Video...In the video, what reel did you have the St TSR70MF paired with? Just to be sure was that the, 1 PCS St Croix
I have it matched with a Daiwa Saltist Back Bay 3000
Good content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
St croix rods are amazing if you get to hold any of their rods you can tell the quality in craftsmanship
Hands down one of the best rod manufacturers around. Their rod warranties are great too!
oh, man, that's a beautiful rod
what size reel and tod are you using?
I just got a 7ft Med Inshore Triumph with Fast tip. Mine had the Green paint. Like metallic Green lol, it's beautiful. I hope it's from the mojo lineup. Gonna put a 3500 Penn Spinfisher VI on it 🎣
That reel will match up really nice with that size. Good luck!
Have you ever tried the fenwick hmg inshore rod? You should check it out. Similar to this rod design.
what size rod is yours and is it a medium/heavy? is it good for saltwater fishing like red fish, flounder and drum and speckle trout?
Mine is a 7' Medium fast action. They offer a "saltwater" version of the triumph but my regular version didn't have even a spec of rust after months of use in the salt.
.. Is it good for saltwater fishing .. jetty, beach etc ?
Kenaro you so hard, dude got 11k views.
I could only dream of gettin that rn
LMAOOO, all love dawg
Can this catch common carp?
Would you recommend the regular triumph or the triumph inshore version?
The regular works great for salt water. If you’re going to pay $140 for the inshore version you might as well by the new Mojo.
@KEN-M Fishing thanks, I actually found a new mojo for 150 a few days ago so I ended up getting that
What reel did you put on it
What are the rod & reel specs? Looks like a nice combination
7ft St Croix Triumph/Daiwa Saltist Back Bay 3000. 20lb braid
Anyone have this rod break? I bought one… before reading a few reviews. Can I trust this thing?
yo i’m getting that rod in 7’ med fast. what size reel should i pair it with? i think i’m gonna put a 4000 shimano sienna since shimano runs small. what do you think?
I would actually recommend Daiwa reels over Shimano. For example the Daiwa Revros only comes in at $50 but packs 26lbs of drag in the 4000 size and is straight butteerrrrr.
@@ken-mfishing4740 oh wow thanks. i was going to go for the shimano because this is the 3rd combo i have purchased this year, and something like a bg or 50+ would break my bank. what size?
What is the difference between the saltwater and normal version?
The saltwater version has a few "added components" like the metal of the guides are different but in all honesty its just a way to throw an extra $40-$50 on the price tag. The normal navy blue triumph works perfectly fine for the salt.
What reel?
Would a 7ft medium power be to stiff for freshwater bass fishing or would it be good
Not at all. Depending on the manufacturer you can find lots of stiff 7ft medium rods that still have enough sensitivity for fresh water bass fishing!
@@ken-mfishing4740 so is it good for bass or no I don’t want a super stiff rod
@@ken-mfishing4740 and I want to put a shimano nasci 3000 on the 7ft medium
@@joelburchett5476 I have a 7'1" M Mojo Bass and a 6'6" ML Avid X. While these are two different rod styles with different sizes, I much prefer the ML for bass. I feel the M is too stiff and too powerful. As soon as I hook a fish on the M Mojo Bass the fight is over. I feel like I overpower the fish way too easily. With the ML Avid X I feel that I don't overpower the fish and I'm not overpowered either. I have a review of the Mojo on my channel and just filmed a review of the Avid X which will be published in the future.
@@TheFishingNomad I have a Lews xfinity spinning rod I’ve been using it’s rated 4-12 line wt and it’s about perfect on the stiffness but o want to get a higher quality spinning rod so I will probably get a triumph 7ft ML thanks for the advice and I subbed to your channel
What power did you get yours in?
I have the 3000
Triumph or fennwick HMG ? shore fishing Detroit river
Triumph
Great video!! Can we see you fish next time?
For sure!
I have the exact same 1
Hey broski, what size reel is that, asking so I can try to find a rod to fit a 3000 series
For a 3000 i would throw a 7’ medium
@Lazy Yan its a 3000 size Daiwa Saltist Back Bay. A 7' or 7' 6" Medium is perfect for this size reel.
What kind of sunglasses neck strap is that? Lol
It’s a Costa Del Mar silicone strap. Was nice in the beginning but started getting caught in my hair when I took it on and off. Wouldnt recommend if you have longer hair
Мексиканский Сент Крой Триумф, есть такой у меня - 8,6 футов, 1/4 - 3/4oz

Add some cork sealer and the cork will last forever!
You're the second person who has mentioned cork sealer to me, lol.

u think i could take this deep sea?
If you mean for jigging or deep reef fishing, sure. I advise getting a 7' or 7' 6" MH or H version of the rod. Anything longer will be a hassle moving around the boat and anything lighter isn't going to have enough backbone against offshore fish.
The old one is better
Never used the old version but St. Croix has been doing it right for a long time so I wouldn't be surprised.
