U confuse me when u say medium action. It should be medium power fast action as an example.

my medium spinning is on the moderate side, then I've got a 7ft medium heavy, medium fast action casting setup with 30lb braid leader determinate on baits I'm gonna use but is for my jigs in the 3/8-just about a ounce but can use this rod for my moving baits or jigs, then a 7'6 heavy rod 1/2oz-2oz lures with 50lb braid for frogs, heavy jigs, flipping and pitching, small glide baits, smaller hard body swimbaits, and so now my arsenal is complete. casting rods are the vengence rods, and spinning is a berkley amp rod. and these rods for me allow me to since I usually jack the bait immediatly when I get a strike to not over power the Hooksett completely and so just my 2 cents.

I've always used spinning reels. This year I decided to take fishing a lot more serious and decided to watch a ton of videos and learn some more. I've been getting some decent fish this year.. decided to go and buy a baitcaster. I've heard all the stories about birds nests and all that but I love challenges and honestly, it looks a lot more fun fishing with a baitcaster set up. I went with the Lew's Mach 2 SLP combo. Spent about 170. Is that a good enough set up or should I spent that 170 elsewhere?

6’6” M spinning rod - it’s a west marine rod from early 2000’s. Similar to st croix premiere
7’ M / ModF - lews carbon fire, use this for my moving treble hooked baits ,chatterbaits, smaller spinner baits, and weightless Texas rigged rigs.
7’ MHF - shimano slx, this rod feels more like a heavy to me. Jigs, 4-6inch swim baits, and frogs.
I’m a bank angler and the ponds/ lakes I fish have heavy tree cover and shrubs along the banks. Side arm casting isn’t an option. So it’s cast over bushes but have to keep it under the trees in an opening that’s not much wider than my body. So I don’t use much above 7’.

This was great. I am beginning to co-angle a little bit this summer and I didn’t want to imposition the primary fisherman. I live in the south and there is only one other rod I would consider adding to make this the perfect southern 4 rod limit. I’d add a 7’6 heavy for my CAROLINA rig which is a must have, (lol), and larger swim baits and flipping. That’s the four rod solution……….

But the 3 I have are:
    7 MH Fast
    7’2 MH Moderate
    7’3 H Fast
I guess that’s similar to your suggestions

Hey David, I figured in this case the length and power was the most important, some people don't want to hear brands. All the rods I listed in the video are Daiwa. Spinning Rod: 7' M Daiwa Tatula // Baitcasters: 7' M Daiwa Tatula & 7'3" H Daiwa Tatula (Omori Pitchin Rod). I hope this helps

@@BassFishingHQ Thanks! There's so many bad reviews out there now that it's hard to tell what to buy. I'm also torn right now on what reel to get. I have 2 older Revo baitcasters and like them but a lot of the reviews on the newer models I'm reading say the side plates easily pop off now and people are losing them. Others are mentioning parts being cheap aluminum and breaking. So lost in bad reviews I can't decide haha. I'm around a $200 price point.

Are they medium, medium/heavy power?…Referring to the rods as medium action is the wrong terminology…did you mean to say “power”?….action refers to taper only…there’s no such thing as medium action. There’s moderate action or fast or slow etc, but not medium. Diawa calls their moderate action rods “regular”, but I believe the standard is “moderate”.
