I saw a very heartbreaking interview with Ashley. She would visit her dad in his last weeks in the nursing home and he would just sit there in complete mental oblivion. Then, she would take out his guitar and hand it to him and play a few notes on her guitar. His face would light up and he would play and sing as he did when he was in his 30's. Then, it would be time to leave. As she took his guitar away, he would go back to complete mental oblivion; staring at nothing, silent and distant. RIP Glen. Prayers for your family.
I find it simply amazing that the great Glen Campbell could still play so extremely well with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's disease. Usually, one of the first things to go when a person is suffering from Alzheimer's is motor skills... when you think of the fact that at this stage in his life the man's brain literally had holes in it, ravaged by this terrible disease but yet he could still effortlessly play like this it is really quite remarkable! The music somehow still came through him... it's simply amazing
One of the things I've learned first-hand since my father was diagnosed is that on rare unexpected days fate smiles, everything works perfectly, and you have that person back in a very real sense. This was clearly one of those days for Glen, because all the videos I've seen of this 11/28/2012 show are Glen at his best, funniest, and most talented. Unfortunately the come-down from those days can be harsh, as if the disease overshoots the other way to regain control. The show at Napa, CA that convinced Glen's family to end the tour was the very next one after this.
Yes, this show in Portland, Oregon was perfect in every way in my opinion. Never any sign of dementia. The old Glenn was there in full form. Personality completely intact, guitar playing very impressive, interaction with his kids remarkable, etc. I brought my mother who was 78 years old at the time and she enjoyed herself so much!
Glen Campbell was one of the greatest guitar players in history watch the Documentary the Wrecking Crew but he could also sing a little. And if you really want to laugh watch the clip of him and Don Rickles on Carson.
When great guitar players are discussed, it's always the guys from rock band who are mentioned, and this is unfair. Guys like Glen Campbell and Roy Clark take a backseat to no one !
I love Glen Campbell
Loved him so much

It’s been found that music can have an amazingly positive affect on people with Alzheimer’s. You should look up a documentary called Alive inside.
They played great together, he must been so proud of his daughter, good on you both, legend of a singer.
And an ace guitarist. Have you watched him play the William Tell overture?
The energetic sound of an intense electric guitar
I spend the day cheering for my friend's music.
Have a nice day friends too.
Thank you 🤠❤🍀
Glen Campbell and Roy Clark put all thos hard rock guitarists to shame. Not even close

Glen campbells daughter is really good
An amazing guitar player.
She was tutored by Carl Jackson, the banjo expert. He is her godfather.

Saying Glen Campbell could sing a little is like saying Michael Jordan can play a little basketball.
WOW
Daddy challenged her.
Live at the Schnitz
💓🇺🇸💓
Nice...:)
Alice cooper was Glens golf buddy. He says Glen could play rock n roll as good as anyone.
not bad for a 76 year old with alzheimer's
Keren..
There are very few rock guitar players that even come close Roy Clark was as good as it gets
Dementia hits hard and fast......😔
