    I gotta day out of all the fishing channels on RUclips, you have to be the only one that can really relate to “regular people” who aren’t pro bass fisherman or making boatloads of money off RUclips. And you really care about helping us. I enjoy your videos a lot

    Found the channel and have found some good tips and hacks. Been catting for over 35 years and still learning new things. I tie all my hook, weight, & swivel combos long before the season starts and before I leave the house, Fix each rod when its needed, buy used rods & reels and rebuild them for grandkids and enjoy teaching them the enjoyment of fishing no mater what type of fish is on the other end of the line. I have truly enjoyed the hacks, tips, tricks, and humor you add to the sport as well. As I tell everyone, don't have to much fun, you'll die laughing.

      wouldnt have to use three reels? the way you explained it, bad line in top to good line on bottom, right? so youre reeling the bad line off to a backup reel so the bad line is now on the bottom and the good line is now on top, but if you reeled it back to the reel youre going to use the line goes back good line on the bottom and the bad line on top. Am I missing something? or are you just using the backup reel as your now current reel

    • @FishinNStuff
      @FishinNStuff  4 года назад

      @@Robot_Chris no you strip the line off 1 reel then reel the line from the next one to it and flip it then the reel that's empty gets new line , so basically you buy line fire one reel instead of 2 . If you do 6 reels , you still just buy line for 1 reel . But the next time you change line you change em all . Does that Make more sense

    • @Robot_Chris
      @Robot_Chris 4 года назад +1

      @@FishinNStuff oohh got it, youre running it to next reel youre going to use. Im a trout angler and I hate the fact that US market reels use up way too much line, I started buying from Japan Market and their spools are shallow. My Stradic 1000 US is telling me to use 140yds of 4lb but my JDM spool for it is asking 100yds and yes it is a genuine shimano spool.

    AWESOME fishing hack boss ! love the show ! .....I save old spark plugs that I get from friends & family for fishing weights . I go crab lining with women's stockings to keep bait on better/tougher . I pickup a roll of tough stainless steel flat wire about 3/16 wide at dollar tree for a dollar one time when available and made an automatic bobbers hook set .....work good ! I USED Mardigras beads , drill hole and make line stop .. also , any glow in the plastic strip of any kind cut up to shape and make trailing hook lures/trails . I do notice glow in the dark stuff work best at night/day .

    I came up with great storage idea for rod and reels. I use bass pro reel covers (the ones that are more like a bag) and if they have no ring on them, I run a shower curtain ring through the bottom and hang them on coffee cup hooks from my ceiling. I had to install a 1 x 4 to accept the coffee cup hooks.

    TA-DAY. I'm sure the best bobber and the cheapest is made from a good soda straw & I put polly twine like you get at lowes hardware store to tie down stuff so it don't blow out on the way home inside the straw, in the middle tie some heavy fish line And put a little loop hanging out, then seal both ends either with caulk or heat glue . I like the ones that come with shakes from Freddie's thier almost bullet proof.😀

    I made bobbers out of 6" diameter styrofoam balls purchased on ebay but available at most craft stores for a lower price than a dozen practice golf balls. I heated up a piece of coat hanger and pierced the styro balls end to end. I used the tubes out of empty spray bottles (instead of coffee stirrers) and glued them in place with hot glue gun. A 6" styro call can't be pulled under by most bluegill but catfish have no trouble...

    When I fish for crappies I run about 8 feet of line thru the dorsal of the first one I catch with a paper clip, and tie that off - not leaving the clip. I attach a partially inflated balloon to the other end.I release the fish and the fish rejoins its school. I usually fish with small jigs or poppers and I follow the balloon to find the school. When done, you can either thank and release the first fish, or pull it up and keep it , too.

    You can use spawn sac material for wrapping, instead of the usual fish eggs use liver or hay cubes in spawn sacs. I use garlic wrap and onion sacs that you buy at grocery store for my chumming, just fill with left over food that usually gets thrown out after( Christmas) dinners. Freeze it , keep adding to it until full , works great for crayfish also. 2 litre pop bottles are great chum containers, fill with any food going to the trash can , especially bacon grease , keep in freezer , and put a small eye bolt through the cap , tie it to parachute cord , and over the side of the boat it goes , ( tie it 10" above the anchor ⚓) Cats will come quickly🐱 Finger condoms look a lot easier to fill though. Thanks for your tips ta-day.

    Here is a quick fishing hack for a bank rod holder if you already have rod holders for your boat. Buy 3ft of 1/2-13 threaded rod and. 1/2-13 coupling nut (the long nuts). Put the rod in the drill and run one end on the grinder (I make sure the drill is running the opposite direction the bench grinder is) to make a point. Then attach the coupling on the other end and screw your rod holder on and BOOM your done!

    Fishing line trick mate...
    In the UK most back winde there reel.
    Instead of filling up a 300yard reel with all one line back winde 150 with old line join your new and old together and then spool that, it saves money as most people don't cast over 150 so line going to waste..
    Then that back spool as no need to come off either
    It's worth looking into how far you cast to how much actual line you need.

      @FishinNStuff  Год назад +1

    Thanks for your nice tips and tricks!
    Watching this, I'd like to add a couple of suggestions. That table tennis ball tricks as bobbers is very nice, I personally did that before. I recently used those plastic easter eggs and insert several bbs or bird shot before glueing the straw not only to add some weight but also make the rattle, something like a popping cork! Your choice of table tennis balls was impeccable and makes the hi vis !
    For the sinkers and using shrinking tube, i guess a rubber dip could also be used.

      I'll try to do more fishing but , ive went all in on DIYs , so that's kind of my niche plus I've got a mixed audience , crappie fishermen , Catfishermen , bass fishermen , and so on . I went to day and was planning on making a video . But I normally don't even film my fishing trips

    Hey cuz, the idea of the heat shrink is cool but I just use double sided Velcro to hold the weight against the rod, stopping the beating altogether! I can send pictures if you wish... thanks for the great content!

    Hello brother. The shrink wrap on the weights is an ingenious idea. Getting ready to wrap a few in just a few minutes. My wife said you must have posted another video because I was smiling when I looked at my phone. I look forward to your videos. Always learn something from every one of them. Katfish is Kool. Keep the cool lessons coming.
