Hey Keith, If you take a small piece of adhesive tape and stick it to the bottom side of the tab that holds your reel to the rod you can write the size (lb. test) and date that spooled up that reel. I have a lot of rods and reels that I use for different kinds of fishin' and this really helps.
Thanks, that's probably the only tip I'll actually use here!
Lol
That's a good idea man
I use my label maker to do that
@@BobBohner4851 you stole my idea lol . I thought of that too lol
i have a small aluminum boat, and been dreading the day i strike a hole. now thanks to this video. i'm confident i'll be fine :)
Thank you for your DIY underwater light videos. They are AWESOME! And I built my own AWESOME fishing light with the drill battery pack and on off switch!!! I have always shied away from wiring and electrical but your video was so inspiring that I just went and did it. I have never soldered before so I had my doubts. I have to admit that I was shocked😅 when I hit the on switch and the light about blinded me and my husband who was sitting next to me on the couch watching fishing videos. He was so proud he sent a photo of my light to the whole family. He can’t wait to see which of your projects I will do next. The real project is gonna be talking him into getting me a drill press cause those sinker casting videos are AWESOME!!😂😂🤣🤣
This guy is a GENIUS! Why didn't I think of putting the spool in a bucket of water? I told you, this guy is a genius! And those spool holders? Genius. OH, and the LED light pole? Genius. This guy is a genius. Liked, subbed, genius.
agree
I melt my lead into pellets by poring the molten lead into a bucket of water that way it melts faster and I can measure out how much I need more easily
Genius!
Nice! That's a great idea, thank you
Keith, those fishing hacks gave me some good ideas. Thanks for posting that video. I never considered that the colors on some of those expensive lures are to attract fishermen instead of fish. But I wanted to point out that a good source for lead is an old car battery that no longer works. Simply drain out the acid (be careful cause could cause serious injury - and be sure to dispose of properly), then just rinse the inside of the battery with a water hose to clean out the remaining acid. Once it's cleaned out, take a saws-all and cut off the plastic around the battery to expose the lead Inside of it. Inside the battery is lbs of lead that can be melted. My cousin showed me that trick. That's why car batteries are so dang heavy. Just wanted to point that out to your subscribers. Happy fishing y'all.
P.S. Can you post a video that shows how to make your own fishing rod holder out of aluminum using those alum brazing rods, that automatically sets the hook when you get a bite. I think they are spring operated. I seen a homemade one before but have never seen a video on how to make one. Thanks Keith.
I night one if those but never got around to figuring out how to make it simply . They are a little detailed
Love You're enthusiasm it's great 1 thing I've found is found is the gloves are in fact a great idea if you can get him on your hands If your hands are oversized you'll never get him on but I but I love the idea I wish it would work for me. I really wanted it to work kind of handy to have if you've got car trouble too and you need to get underneath somewhere where where you can't see hopefully they'll come out with some bigger sizes. Thanks for sharing You're hard work.
They need too come out with different sizes . I appreciate brother
Honestly, this is the best informative AND entertaining fishing youtube channel out there! Thank you for all the content!
I really appreciate that brother
Go to your local tire shop, pick up all the garbage tire weights... great lead source
Well then you just grab the ones that are lmmfao!
Right on. I've found that the best way to keep line on a spool is with a hair band. Thread the line through the hair band with a needle and put it on the spool. The band will secure the line on the spool, and you can pull/unwind the line off the spool without ever losing it.
That's a good idea
I'm gonna use that one too ...stolen good idea ..lol
@@MikeSmith-nu9wt It works real well...hair bands are inexpensive.
You have got to me kidding me! A battery power connector mount can virtually replace me from hauling and lugging around my heavy marine battery to and from my boat after a day on the water?!?! Are you trying to tell me all I need is one, or maybe even two if feeling cute, of these adapters and I can run not only my fish-finder and bilge pump, but even charge my iPhone or other devices as well? Well, the jokes on me because it works!!! Wow! I wished I'd have stumbled across your videos months ago as I would've saved me a bundle of cash! Thank you so much brother for sharing these hacks and tips!
I saw these and thought what an awesome idea . Then made this video , only to find out alot ofthe bass guys where using them to run their deapth finders before I even knew lol .
As usual, more great hacks. I don't know why i didn't think of them myself. They seem so simple when you put them out there for us.... Thanks for the info, and as all your videos are, always great.
Dude, you had my wife and I rolling! Love your personality and videos!
Thank you Sir I really appreciate you guys watching
Another great video. I will definitely be trying out the battery idea. Maybe for a black light for surf fishing at night.
LINE IN THE BUCKET IS AWESOME🎣‼️
great job !! never think you know everything. Keep putting this stuff out.been fishing 55 years and always can use a few tips
Line in a bucket of water is gold. Thanks for that.
When I put line on my reel I take a pencil and put it through the line holder then put the pencil on in boot Eyelets and it works perfect
Ordered the battery attachment, love it. Thanks for sharing. Love all your videos.
Thank you Sir
If you have smaller leader material in the short but wide spools, a rubber band works well for holding it down
2:58 ❤️✊🏾👍🏾. My fishing buddy and I went night fishing. Worked out GREAT!
I love night fishing
Take an upholstery style or some other heavy duty needle and large hair ties. Get the ties just big enough you need to stretch over your spool. Thread the line through the needle and run the needle through the hair tie. Always leave about 2" sticking out just in case but there should be plenty of friction (but not too much) to hold the line in place. Pull the tag end to use and the hair tie will slide around the spool as line is fed out. I've used this on as little as 2lbs test and as long as the tie is not too tight, it should work.
Great Video. We subscribed! We love the outdoors!
drill battery mount is glorious and brilliant.
A good plug adapter to use is guitar 🎸 cable end. Sauter a female end on the light and sauter male ends on all the different heads you use and than just change heads quick for whatever power supply you’re using that night
I paint em with a nail polish that looks like fish scales. They make a great popping cork to. Put on a middle hook and a dropper line off back. If fish hits float instead ya can still catch em.
I just discovered this channel. I love this guy. Im just saying!
You are BRILLIANT!!! Thank you for all the help and great ideas!
Loved the video!! Always entertaining. ROFL at the birds 😂🤣😂. Loved the line spoiling hack - probably saved people $45 on that one.
Sweet hacks/tips bro...I live being able to di things for my self so this stuff is gold. Cheers.
thanks for the spool reel in the water hack, will try
When you and your buddy are fishing for Stripers on the Hudson River, and waiting for the tide to turn, and you see a new video from FNS...priceless.
I use those cast net weights as is. With a paper clip, you can hang them off a three-way swivel.
That spooling your reel in a bucket of water was genius! 👍and subbed to support a fellow Youtubing Angler!
I tried it at the lake and it didn't work for me🤔
I spray it with reel magic while Spooling, I notice the difference immediately
Awesome video man ! Loving these informative videos! Hey, one question, what volt battery were you using during that test? I just ordered two of those battery adaptors. One for the fishing light, and one for my kids power wheels. lol
You are adorable! Thanks for the tips!
Dude! Love the battery hack, genius :) thanks so much
same here. can i use it for my 12v fish finder with 20v max DeWalt battery? do i need converter?
Love the battery hack, I’m going to get one for my fish finder for ice fish, subbed, great channel btw.
Thank you Sir
Thank you for making these they help a lot
Thanks for all 8 hacks on today’s video. 👍
I used the muffin pan trick for years . Another good place to get lead is a shooting range Just don't leave gaping holes in the bank when you dig out the bullets ! If your state is shotgun only a good time is just before deer season when guys are shooting slugs at targets !
Your a smart feller. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us all ✌
Thank you for watching and far boosting my confidence
This video got the button. Cool video goods tips. Especially for any John boat boys
Excellent video! Thanks a million. Looking forward to trying some of these.

I am impressed. Thank you for the great tips.
Great video! Man awesome idea with the battery attachment!
Killer video! I have the light gloves and they are as advertised. You won't be disappointed BUT, don't be like me and forget your wearing them and grab a fish out of the water! I've done it twice now and they still work😅😎
Ol I will lol 😆
I paused the video just to say bubba, I was looking for a movie to watch and I've seen everything new and old...! What to watch? Oh!!! FISH N STUFF!!!
😁 thank you . And thank you very much for watching.
Awesome video. Some good stuff there.. if you know anyone who works on airplanes. There is a lot of lead in the wings. Just make sure the plane has been decommissioned before taking it. lol
Aye man... I see you an Abu Garcia man..... That is pretty cool... Nothing better than those Swedish made Abu's.... I ain't a fan of those which are made today but that is awsome.... Cheers brother...
thanks for your efforts to show us new ideas...
The spool in the bucket of water seems handy. Cheers fae Scotland
If you use a pot of sorta hot water with a hole in the lid doing the reel spooling you achieve the same thing but also take out line memory
Same here buddy ridgid been the best for me so far had Dewalt brand new and after 5 months of everyday use made them useless switch to Milwaukee and after about 2 months all the batteries quit on me I've had ridgid ever since for about 2 and a half years and still going good
I agree , I do own some other brands . I like the Dewalt cordless grinder the best . But I mostly buy ridgid
I went to a shooting range out in the desert in Arizona got a lot of bullets a few pounds and melted them and made lead lead weights for fishing
Awesome dude I appreciate your videos your my kind of people
Thank you Sir I appreciate that , 😁
Awesome as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Just recently started subscribing to your channel and all I can say “awesome “ will watch all your videos....
Thank you Sir
Love the battery hack
I love the battery one I’m going to make it for my boat thanks
You could use the drill battery for a aerator.
Them hacks were...awesome. Glad I stuck around.
Keith, you are AH some!! Nuff said.
Thank you
Very entertaining. Good ideas
Thank you Sir
Genius, all of it.
Awesome indeed
Awesome hacks. Now let's go fishing....
I’ve found my new hero ! Awesome vid thanks, subscribed
Now thats some cool stuff !!
A hack I'd like to share for the offshore guys - get an old flat bicycle tire tube and cut through it forming half inch rubber strips. Use these strips to keep your pre-rigged lure leaders organized by tying the coiled leader together with the tube strips as you change lures throughout the day. Stay organized and never get tangled on the boat again.
That's a good tip
I’ve just came across your channel and I’m glad I did ,you have some cool videos 👍 all the best from 🇬🇧
Thank you very much
First time to your channel...
And I like it..
Awesome tips..
I'm definitely hooked 👍👍👍

Very cool thanks 🇨🇦👍
Another awesome video. Love Hack #4!
That’s pretty cool.
Great video! I have no idea how I got here??... but.. I'm glad I did!!
That aluminum rod trick is right up my ally!!
As much as I've wanted to learn to weld, I've just never had the chance!! But, I'm sure I can learn how to use those rods!! And if it's from harbor freight, it can't be too expensive, so it'll be cheap to learn! So, thank you my friend for that nugget.. gonna check out a few more of your videos and most likely subscribe
I believe you can learn to weld . We can learn anything we apply ourselves too . Thank you for watching my friend
@@FishinNStuff thank you very much for the positive words, my friend!! And yes, I believe I can as well!
Funny you said that, because a friend got me up about a welding a few thing's and asked if I could help. So I said, as long as you teach me a thing or two , I'd gladly help! Who knows? I might be making some basic welding videos!
Keep it up, and glad I subscribed.
Seems you could connect battery hack with female plug (cut from extension cord) to make attaching easy. Thanks for the video
You could do that . So you could use it for different things
I use dewalts. Like night fishing on texoma in the summer. Brilliant, did I say brilliant. Thanks
Lol
This is awesome!!
As usual, a very cool video
Thanks a million 🙏
Okay okay you got me I subscribed and liked it good job keep it up man
Lol
Just subscribed! Great hacks and great content. You are teaching this Florida boy all kinds of new tricks. Thanks brother, keep ‘em coming.
Thank you Sir
I love your content.
Suggestion: HACK# 1 When you are connecting wires in your boat instead of taping use "Liquid Electric Tape" (liquid rubber) to WATERPROOF YOUR CONNECTION!
That seems like a pretty good idea it also looks like it'll work really well
Great hacks! You got a new subscriber.
With the roll of fishing line in bucket of water try hot water it takes the twist out
That's a great idea
Awesome hacks I use the cann cooze all time like that
Love watching your channel
