They could gig and practice till the cows come home and Lars still wouldn't be able to keep time. You have heard of a human metronome? Lars is the opposite of that.
The new Metal Girl should continue in music she has potential. If only she had a break or two. You know famous dad, TV show, great teeth, famous friends, or the ability to sing all styles and registers. She make a living you think?
Her dad was a one hit wonder, she auditioned for Hannah Montana 5 times and got the part when she was 11. Her teeth were awful and Disney got her to fix them. And she worked on her voice to be able to suit all genres. Check out her voice evolution. Don’t discredit peoples hard work.
I thought it looked like a new (to him) axe, but I didn't know it's Peter Green's Les Paul. Should have recognized that sound, it's rather distinctive because of the out of phase wiring.
Lars can't keep good tempo. At very least he's consistently bad. If you can't keep good time, you shouldn't be a drummer. Just my opinion as I am a drummer myself.
Fun fact: Kirk is playing 'Greeny'. Peter Greens guitar from Fleetwood Mac. Also, they might be a bit loose as it's likely 7am or something ridiculous like most guest appearances on HSS 🤷
Some people notice that Hammett was playing some randomly famous guitar. Others notice how bad he was playing. Just goes to show that different people notice different things.

James wrote and recorded every guitar part for this song. One of the few in their catalog that was done like this. Kirk learned the intro, while on tour, supposedly.
miley's voice is different since she got a case of Reinke's edema , which affects the vocal cords, hence her voice is not as clean and pure as it was many years ago, but I like it. she got surgery , but her voice is permanently different... I like her new songs, esp 'Midnight Sky' and "prisoner', though i like some of her older songs with her 'pure' voice, esp 'Slide away' which is an interesting song, esp with the warbling effect/texture voice that permeates the song, and it's a pretty melody

He's sloppy here but then recent live performances of other songs like "Wherever I may roam" he's absolutely nailed it. @Lane Peterson; I disagree as far as being in rhythm and time with the song James Hetfield as well. The rest was all over the place. James did his job he was backup singer to Miley and rhythm guitarist. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. Miley was the main attraction here but Kurt struggled some kinda bad. James is always first one to show up to practice and last to leave. That's why he is so good. Very hard worker. He has loads of respect around the globe. Everyone loves him. He was supposed to sit back play the guitar and backup Miley. As far as I'm concerned the rest of the band tried to use James as the rhythm lead for the whole band. So now we're clear of that he didn't do anything special either but that was exactly what the song needed. If he out vocaled Miley and played more than his part it would have ruined the song. I say hell of a job and let's see them get back at it and things will be as good or better than they were before the CCP Virus
He's always at the top of his game. I miss Jason like everyone else but Rob is a monster himself, just a different energy. Arguably closer to Cliff as far as style than Jason was.

Don’t discredit peoples hard work.
woah woah woah, hold up... can we take a moment to talk about that black PRS silver sky.... That is one beautiful guitar.
James recorded that solo on the record and he always play it each time Metallica performance 🤘🏼🎶
Kirk playing Peter Green's Les Paul.. gorgeous sound.
Thx for the Videos Michael!!
I thought it looked like a new (to him) axe, but I didn't know it's Peter Green's Les Paul. Should have recognized that sound, it's rather distinctive because of the out of phase wiring.
The band sounds great. Miley sounds amazing. Lars sounds like … well… Lars.
I just peed a little 😂
@@Pholsius 😃Lol, I had a friend used to say that all the time.👍
I never had a problem. with Lars. I would never have thought about him much except for people always whining about him.
Lars can't keep good tempo. At very least he's consistently bad. If you can't keep good time, you shouldn't be a drummer. Just my opinion as I am a drummer myself.
Lars and James have seen Kirk fuck up this intro hundreds of times. He just can't play it and he never will be able to play it.
Is Kirk playing Greeny? Crikey. bringing out the big guns from the safe.
You gotta see the praise that Elton John threw their way just before this performance…called this song wine of the greatest songs ever written
This is horrible and she sounds like she’s trying to be Stevie nicks.. Miley does NOT sound good.
Scorpions does that too! Heavy drum on clean guitars
this is a good song? -- I already have chorus fatigue from a bit of a nothing melody...sorry (although it does have a bit of a pre-renaissance feel that I always kind of like)
James wrote and recorded every guitar part for this song.
He's playing Peyer Green's old Les Paul, maybe the different neck is the issue
Michael, it was extremely common for rock and metal drummers to play full velocity in a ballad in the late 1980s and early 90s. Where were you? XD
Her raspy voice is due to vocal damage due to years of singing, not cigarettes
Miley’s tone really reminded me of Stevie Nicks
coming together getting Tighter? They have been doing this song for 30 years there should be NO problem doing it.
pretty Bad if they can't nail it from the start.
Guitar teacher reaction - Wow great
My Reaction - wow this sucks.
I just LOVE you and your unbridled enthusiasm for good music. Keep it up sir.
Let me say this.. im sure I'll catch hell for it.. I love Metallica to death!! That said, them not out playing like normal or for awhile is absolutely NO excuse for Hammett to be sloppy. If he was practicing like he should be at home he would be good.. Period. You don't see James sloppy. I mean can I get someone to back me up here!!
You're right. He's so lazy nowadays that when he writes solos for new songs, he just goes to the studio and improvises then calls it a day.
He's sloppy here but then recent live performances of other songs like "Wherever I may roam" he's absolutely nailed it. Kirk is one of my favourite guitarists ever but he's always been up and down with his accuracy. Years ago a mate of mine who's loosely in the industry as a tech said that he struggles with arthritis but I don't know if that's just hearsay.
@@JamoonXerxesSauber and you might be right sir. All in all he is a great person. I do know that. Regardless of his sometime subpar skills. There was a point in time he was on fire. Now it seems the passion has died
You could be right and mad respect to James but he did bend false at the end of the solo repeatedly which was sort of an earworm for me but all and all, he’s s great musician
Hammett was never able to properly play Nothing Else Matters.
Say it louder...Marlboro Reds
That got an audible laugh from me
Love the honest commentary "kirk, a little squirrely". He's been squirrelly for the past 20 years, right?
Miley Cyrus "A+", Robert "A"....the rest of the band, "C-"
I noticed at 9:58 Lars is hitting the snare and we aren’t hearing it and then some hits come in that he didn’t play
Not lying... Miley can sing her ass off.
Robert is keeping it together. Especially in the bridge and solo
He's always at the top of his game. I miss Jason like everyone else but Rob is a monster himself, just a different energy. Arguably closer to Cliff as far as style than Jason was.
She went straight from Disney teen to elderly Stevie Nicks in no time.
I hear Stevie Nicks in her voice too!
Kirk giving greenie its usual test drive. Sorry man but even though he bought it doesn't mean he fills the shoes and plays good enough to deserve it. From hero to zero in one purchase.
James recoreded all the guitar tracks on NEM on the album. Since you asked.
Also I effin love Miley, she slays this performance. She needs to do a rock album.
Miley is a badass. Way more talent there than people think she has.
Miley has that fleet wood Mac sound
