One thing that's in the background.. You see that the band has fun with it. They've been playing that awesome song for 30yrs. They're tired of it. But that awesome talent wants to sing with it. It shakes things up. It's cool and refreshing..
On this same episode of the Stern Show Elton John called this one of the greatest songs ever written. He wasn't wrong. James even teared up a bit from the compliment.
Been a Metallica fan since '83 and a Miley fan since September...
Her rendition of "Say hello to heaven" at the Chris Cornell tribute concert was what got me interested. She had some set of lungs on her.
I would have never expected it a few years ago, but I actually really respect the way she has evolved as a musician. She does a lot of interesting stuff.
Mileys voice now is really awesome 😳👌🏻
Give *The Warning* ⚡a try. Three sisters from Mexico, raised on piano lessons and classic rock videos from the age of 5. At age 7, they added guitar/drums/bass. Viral (23 million views) cover of Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' at ages 14, 12, and 9 in 2014. Now, Spector is producing a Signature Series bass in the name of the 16 year old bassist and they have an EP and 3 albums worth of original music. Try 'Disciple', 'Evolve', or 'Choke' for their newest.
I agree The Warning rock and Dany hits some pretty serious vocal notes especially on Choke and Disciple !
Choke is soo good! One of the best rock songs of '21.
This was actually a good performance by Miley, considering the fact that she's had a surgery
Honestly, it seems like she came out of that surgery with a better voice - at least better for rock, anyway. Not that her voice wasn't awesome already, but it just has something extra now
@@dbradx yea exactly
She fookin' SLAYED it. I wonder if they barely rehearsed. Sonds GREAT! Proud of Miley, i hear she is cool af in real life. You rule! 🤘

Plz react to lama bada yatathana covered by Tallia it’s one of the oldest Arabic song it’s over 1000y and it’s sooooo good
Hey Beth, great review and reaction! Love your videos and professionalism! Please keep doing awesome work. I wanted to point one thing out though and thats how Miley is singing. You are right with what you said but also Metallica plays in E flat. Most female singers can't go that low and Miley was so low, her vox nearly collapsed. So its not surprising it sounded as it did. She's low, but normal for that tunation. I just wanted to point out how low that was for her but your review was awesome and loved seeing it! I was never like a Miley fan....especially the "Wrecking Ball" stuff, (UGGGG) but this is legit and she's just singing along with it, low as hell and all. Such good work I think.
I also recommend Metallica’s Enter Sandman by The Warning and Alesia Cara. Excellent reconstruction
That was a decent cover ! I still really enjoyed Miley’s cover of nothing else matters.
No sorry the best version of "Enter Sandman" is the Motörhead one, it makes you look under your bed before you get in when you hear it.
@@arnepietruszewski9255 Nope, the best version of “Enter Sandman” is the one by Ghost. Those keys make it _soar._ Hail Satan 🤘
@@autumnphillips151 No sorry not my favorite, the voice is not my kind of singing he sounds like a mix of Sting and Simply Red.
I second this recommendation, I've been trying yo get Beth to react to The Warning for years... I think Disciple would be a good second choice as it has both Dany and Pau trading off verses.
Was at the festival this summer where she was a headliner. She is the best live singer I've ever seen. Didn't miss a single note while singing live 2 hours straight + communicated with 100k people like they're her friends. Very kind and talented. Her recent album "Plastic Hearts" is my favorite album right now. The VOCALS are insane.
Miley is Miley, sometimes she knows that is "wrong" but she dont gives a single one, she'll sing and feel that moment, even if sounds kinda weird, the choice for the moment, the emotion, we get to share and gosh... Its an experience...
"Rock n Roll Hanna Montana"
Miley was amazing in Say Hello to heaven, in a Chris Cornell’ tribute.
There’s a lot of Chris influence in her singing style now.
It’s amazing also how she covers songs and keeps her vocal identity without ruining the songs.
@M Mac are you for real? It seems like you are just frustrated and jealous dude , what’s wrong with you? Miley has an awesome voice
yes she was AMAZING at Cornell's tribute.
It’s has to be so intimidating for her to do this song. It is one song to cover a song but to actually do it with the original band. Man! It must have been a relief once James got into it with her.
Miley Cyrus sounds just like Marianne Faithfull in Metallica's The Memory Remains. o_O Could you react to her in that song as well please?
I was thinking she sounded like Great Value Marianne Faithful. She sounds awful.
Agree. I think it's awful, too
For the record: I think neither Miley Cyrus nor Marianne Faithfull sound awful. I quite like both their husky voices actually. :)
I'm a big metal and rock fan but has NO idea this Collab had happened! And actually... Like when Linkin Park collabed with Jay-Z, I am really pleasantly surprised! Thank you for making this video! 🤘
She does a wonderful job.
Love your explanations!
When Miley is singing those low notes, she really reminds me of Fleetwood Mac, or rather Stevie Nicks in particular. On that note, I've always found it really interesting how we can usually tell whether it's a male of female voice singing no matter the pitch, and I can't really understand why that is. Your thoughts?
Just my thoughts, too. She sounds like Stevie Nicks in some parts.
It reminds me of Stevie too, that's the first thing that came to mind.
I’d be super curious to hear a hard rock album from her. Something in the vein of the pretty reckless or halestorm. As far as I’m concerned the change couldn’t have been better. She went from great to original which is way better IMO. She found her voice.
Have you heard her album plastic hearts??
@@amberv4102 I have not, I'll check it out
I agree. The evolution in her voice will inevitably lead to an evolution in her music in the sense that (hopefully) her songs will be used to best accentuate this talent. Her voice is fucking badass.
I don't think she's intimidated at all. She's done zombie, heart is glad. Maybe by Janis and the Lost goes on
What a voice! 🌺 I cannot even imagine what it must be like singing after vocal surgery.
I love your videos, always so clear! Hughes from Argentina. 😊🥰
I’m an alto and it is unbelievably difficult to sing this low and project. Really interesting!
Me too and I love what she’s doing now. It was hard for me to except my voice actually, I was confused why pop songs didn’t suit me most of the times.I used to sing a lot of rock songs by male artist too.
Love for her and Angelina Jol, er Jordan to collaborate on something as they both have "low" ranges(see AJ's monochrome of I Put A Spell On You).
Miley's look reminds me of Debra Harry. She fit right in I thought.
im a simple man i see metallica i clicked ♥️
so do i. But i also stop'd 5sec after Miley opend her mouth. Cant hear it
You really have to check out PLUSH!! The lead singer, Moriah Formica was on The Voice on Miley's team. Now the student has become the master. Check out their song Hate (live siriusxm version)
Not a big fan of Miley, but I'm coming around. I like this a bunch, and her cover of Jolene is great
Yeah. I never was a fan until recently. Her lower voice has a velvety Stevie Nicks quality, or even Tanya Tucker. Her fast vibrato is awesome. Listen to her sing Jolene with Dolly Parton. Amazing.
It's not anything all that crazy or bold vocally, but I'd love you to do a video of Miley performing Just Breathe. It's a Pearl Jam cover and should be available to watch on her channel. It's so simple, but it's a really beautiful song that Miley just nails.
She is really good when she does simple songs in a simple way. Her own songs and this Metallica cover sound horrible to my ears.
@@JackFate76 I kinda like the cover. When she gets lower like that she sounds exactly like a Stevie Nicks type sound, which I love coming from her, and something I would like to see more women singers do fasho
@@JackFate76 so you dont like this performance?
Eagerly waiting for the second video of your new channel!
I really enjoy your channel. Sorry I'm English!
it so nice to see Miley seems to have left the crazy behind and tilted into her amazing talent (I'm such a granddad)
Lol, I’m such a grandma because I feel the same way. My kids loved Hannah Montana and I was really sad to see Miley spiraling. She is so talented.
This performance is incredible. I always get chills. I’m a contralto by trade but w age and smoking I can’t sing very well now except in full voice which doesn’t work for softer parts. I also scream bunches at sporting events & often lose my voice. Concerts too. Anyway, thank you for putting a name to what I figured out: guttural stop. I realized I can’t hold notes so stopped trying. When I sang in Church choirs I learned the vowel tricks but all the hymns were not in my key. I always sing male songs better. Think Ian Anderson. My range has always been limited even in my teens. I love your analysis. You’re my fave. I change keys on my guitar w a capo.
The best cover from that album is Enter Sandman by The warning, even Metallica picked it as the soundtrack for a Marvel video game and for the NFL matches on TV by Fox sports, but you haven’t reacted to them /:
If I were to have stopped to consider the ramifications of Billy Ray Cyrus' "Achy Breaky Heart" back in the day. This would not have been a possibility I would have considered.
Lol I love that
If you do a Ayreon reaction no lie, its the perfect Avenue for Miley. She's perfect for Prog or Power Metal. Young Stevie Nicks.
That's a perfect comparison. She sounds just like a Stevie nicks type. If she'd get into that groove I'd definitely listen to that style of music if she sang that.
This is one of the better covers on the Metallica Blacklist. But the best IMHO is the one of Enter Sandman with The Warning & Alessia Cara. It's such a great deconstructed version of Enter Sandman
Very good
Have you seen her performance of Summertime Sadness?
I'm a simple man.
I see Beth, Metallica, and Miley - I press "like" 😻
Ngl, 16 years old me didn't see the "Miley" part coming 😅
Love Miley
You gotta understand that James YEAH is a trademark.
I know you're not taking requests, but the Blacklist cover of Enter Sandman by Alicia Cara and The Warning would be interesting to see if you have an interest in that.
Good review as always!
Please react to The Warning: CHOKE, EVOLVE, Disciple and Enter Sandman Metallica Blacklist.
Please react to Miley’s cover of say hello to heaven 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼which was before her surgery. She sounds almost the same
@BethRoars you really know your stuff. I learn with every video.
Magy from Nightmare who does a few Ayreon Universe songs and albums, has similar cleans and rasp again Miley should do Prog and Power Metal.
I love Myley , she for me can sing the phonebook, that song with metallica is just brilliant...Top notch for me...
Love Miley. I never watched Hannah Montana, I was a bit old for it and I wasn’t a fan of her kind of teen pop years. But the last few years I’ve really got into her. She has a unique voice and I just think she’s super cool.
Check out the chris Stapleton version its amazing
I’m so glad that you reacted to this. This is my favorite version of this song. I think her voice adds something wonderful to this song… I think she’s sound unique sound for herself that will set her apart from her contemporaries.
I'm feeling sick, my idols together, the Marvelous Miley Cyrus and the legendary Metallica.
Stevie Nicks 2.0
I absolutely love Miley’s voice now and the classic rock covers and samples she is doing.
Is it lazy to compare Mylie to Melissa Etheridge on this track?
I've never really been a fan but I saw Melissa Etheridge live a cpl of years back and she blew mind! Such a cool singer, performer and guitarist
love miley. would love to see you reacting to louis tomlinson as well!! i think you'd like his most recent stuff "copy of a copy" "change" and "defenceless"
The song that changed my mind about Miley Cyrus as a person and a singer was midnight sky
This is a Metallica song which is awesome. On the Howard Stern Show Elton compliments James Hetfield and Hetfield becomes very emotional from Elton praise of the song and the band. It's truly moving. You must watch.
Thomas Dutkiewicz
Miles has taken on a very Marian Faithful quality in her voice, which rather hot
React to Miley singing Maybe by Janis Joplin
Miley has always been to hit low notes. She actually doesn’t even go down to a B2 here. Since 2014 she’s been able to control down to a B2
Shes got notes down to a G2 on Cyrus Skies.
She hit B2s in 2012
Actually better then i thought it would be
At the first time i heard this feat i hated it, but then i listened it again and realised how well Mileys singing fits this song.
Female version of Chris Cornell. Amazing.
When did Miley Cyrus turn into Marianne Faithful?
miley cyrus una de las mejores voces de esta generacion que merece mas reconocimiento ! ella puede hacer cualquier genero de musica y le queda genial!
I am an old timer and for years ignored Miley because of for lack of anything else I will call it "lifestyle". Backyard sessions made me realize what a really good singer this young lady is. I have had to change my opinion on others as well, Pink and Gaga for sure
Yeah I'm the same, it takes me a while to get past all the bull to see how good a lot of artists are.
Am actively trying not to be like my grandad who insisted that the beatles and the stones were just copying each other lol.
a little sugestion for you Beth: Mars by Liliac. I think you might like it and find it interesting.
Honestly, when I first heard she was covering this for the Blacklist I was fuming. Then I heard it and was amazed by how good her and Elton’s version is.
She goes well with the melody
she is sounding more and more like Marianne Faithfull
Should hear her do zombie by the cranberries
React to Brent Mydland of the Grateful Dead 💀🌹
Blow Away might be a good shout.
Could you react to "I should have been me" Miley Cyrus????? Pleeaasse
Miley needs to start a band
Please react to Dulce Pontes- Canção do mar (2005)...your jaw will drop.
Please.. Subtitules in spanish..
❤
You should react to Miley and her backyard sessions.
Miley is the Lars of singing.
Phoebe Bridgers also covers this for Blacklist. It's beautiful.
REACT MARILIA MENDONÇA- BEIJA FLOR / ESQUEÇA ME SE FOR CAPAZ / ESTRELINHA she died in the last week :(
Plz react to lama bada yatathana covered by Tallia it’s one of the oldest Arabic song it’s over 1000y and it’s sooooo good
Kirk was a little sloppy on that intro, but still an awesome performance.
I loved this. It was strange yeah but. I love Metallica so much and I really think that Miley would make an amazing rock singer. Beth have you reacted to Pretty Reckless??
I recommend you to listen to Enter sandman by The warning and Alessia Cara. Metallica loved it, then look up the Warning original music, and they will rock your head (:
James playing that guitar made from the scrap wood from the garage where master of puppets was written.
Big Naked covered this as well. A fantastic cover imho.
I'm a Metallica fan and I think Miley has an amazing voice, but for me this doesn't work.
True it doesn't work
😎✌🏻
This song was not even supposed to be on the Black Album. James was writing a personal song !
Is it just me, or is this Stevie Nicks ?! lol.....anyways...Great performance.
I love your content. First time hearing this version. I'm sad!
First Gaga now this. Cliff Burton must have been rolling in his grave, and Jason Newsted must have vomited non-stop since this ABSOLUTE garbage came out. Don't get me wrong, nothing against Cyrus. Bet she has a strong following, but she can't sing music with soul, and singing rock music, with all its metal genders and sub genders, takes soul. I wish the band would stop humilliating themselves in their effort to stay relevant. It's okay to grow old!
Her voice reminds me of Stevie Nicks.
Wow, had no idea Miley Cyrus is so very different now! I was just talking about her grindin on Robin Thicke way back when... but I guess those days are over... and it's back to Ackey Breaky Heart.
I definitely recommend watching the interview. Elton John makes James Hetfield cry.
Greatest band in history!
She can flat out f'ing sing. Pretty much anything. I used to be a hater. Nope...her covers are off the damn charts. Whew.
Am I the only one who didn't like this collab? I don't like the vocal fry in her low register. I don't know if I'm expressing myself right but it sounds boring and kind of annoying to me. I love everything else she's been doing tho.
Pretty cool. But, James Hetfield is anything but a nice guy. He's a real jerk.
should have done the version she did with Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma and a few others, it was really well done
