Hearing your excitement validates the love I have for artists like Shakey, Tyler Childers and Colter Wall. Rock on, brother!

It’s so cool to see someone be able to explain this music with words, because to me it’s just magic. This is my favorite song in the whole world and this version of it specifically where he just goes into this groove where he literally is the music. This song scratches an itch deep in my brain and it’s really cool to have someone explain to me why!
Been following him for a couple years… I’ve loved his music, but reactions like this make me REALLY appreciate and understand what these musicians are doing in their songs.
Yesss!, I’m loving this new age folk/country vibe you’ve been exploring on the channel lately... we get so technical as musicians it’s been refreshing to see some artists that are 100% focuses on the soak of the song rather than every note being in tune or playing some “impressive” riff... strip it down to the bones of music
Love Shaky Graves so much. My best friend bought tickets for us to see him live a couple years ago and it was one of the best concerts I've been to. Also I think his audiotree sessions are some of his best versions
Have admired this song for a very long time - very fulfilling watching someone who understands the talent you must have to play, let alone create, music even close to this. Shakey is one of a kind and very underrated.
One of those that grabs you from the opening beat, the guitar pulls you in and the whole thing just pulls you along with it, dynamic, musical, subtly raw...great performance!
I've been dabbling with guitar for about six years and I learnt more from three of your videos than the collective total time I've spent trying to learn music theory. LOVED seeing someone react to shakey who can truly appreciate just how great he really is. +1 subscriber 👍
14:05 I know this vid is years old, but as someone whos been a shakey graves fan for a decade I have to say this is pretty spot on... I think it's pretty common that his fans don't have "favorite songs" but rather favorite versions of songs.. Some performances are completely different than the "original", presumably just based on how he feels like playing at that moment. 10/10 S tier underrated artist.

Saw him a few years ago open for Shovels and Rope in Charleston SC. Absolutely blew us away. So dynamic with just guitar voice and and a beat up aquamarine Samsonite. Got a standing O grime the crowd.
As an ameteur guitar player and long time lover of music..
You clearly have a high level understanding of guitar, so I appreciate your enthusiasm for these guys who make music that I respect and emulate in my own way.
Hearing your excitement validates the love I have for artists like Shakey, Tyler Childers and Colter Wall.
Rock on, brother!
Seeing your excitement for the magic on the screen is every bit as great as the talent to which you’re reacting. I love your enchantment for the creativity you’re witnessing. It’s infectious! As a songwriter, I dream of people listening to MY stuff with such fervor!
Finally someone who is not pretending to have a reaction to music
Yesss!, I’m loving this new age folk/country vibe you’ve been exploring on the channel lately... we get so technical as musicians it’s been refreshing to see some artists that are 100% focuses on the soak of the song rather than every note being in tune or playing some “impressive” riff... strip it down to the bones of music
Love Shaky Graves so much. My best friend bought tickets for us to see him live a couple years ago and it was one of the best concerts I've been to. Also I think his audiotree sessions are some of his best versions
"He is the music."
Nailed it.
Shakey Graves is all like this with the crazy third movement. Love this band! Glad someone is recognizing their musicianship and writing!
The vibe I get from this video is a kid on Christmas, and it’s fantastic
2:40 this beautiful moment when he stopped covering and just kept listening, simply appreciating his fellow musician's art.
"i didn't know it was gonna keep getting cooler"
ha - that was cool all by itself!
Ahhhh, I love seeing someone being introduced to Shakey Graves. I saw him live with a 3 piece band many years ago. He has a natural soulfulness.

When you said, "I love this guy!"
I was thinking the same thing about you!
I'm telling you, Shawn James is who you wanna look into next. Either Delilah or Through the Valley. You will not regret it.
Or flow is super badass also
Midnight dove is another goodie
Shakey Graves is the reason I began learning Guitar.
Also, how I found this channel. Nice choice. New sub.
As far as learning to play ruclips.net/video/E0rcaJ9YInc/видео.html
To see him live in concert is beyond surreal!
Have admired this song for a very long time - very fulfilling watching someone who understands the talent you must have to play, let alone create, music even close to this.
Shakey is one of a kind and very underrated.
It’s taken me 7 years to build up to even try playing it
One of those that grabs you from the opening beat, the guitar pulls you in and the whole thing just pulls you along with it, dynamic, musical, subtly raw...great performance!
From the beginning of this channel I've been holding my breath waiting for this audiotree session of Shakey Graves hahah
Finally!!!
It’s so enjoyable seeing people’s reactions to music that blows their mind!!! 👍🏼
He’s revealing his own process of understanding, it’s quite useful to the outside eye!
I had the same reaction the first time I saw Roll the Bones and I don't know nearly as much about playing music. Amazing stuff!
I’ve loved Shaky for about 4 years but you gave me a whole new appreciation for him with your enthusiasm! Great reaction!
Every person's reaction the first time they hear Shakey. ^O^
Wow dude thank you for this I’ve never even listened to this dude I sure as hell will now!!! Rock on dude!!🤘🏼🤘🏼
I've been dabbling with guitar for about six years and I learnt more from three of your videos than the collective total time I've spent trying to learn music theory. LOVED seeing someone react to shakey who can truly appreciate just how great he really is. +1 subscriber 👍
Dude. You made my day. This is why I teach!!
Glad so many have been turned on to Texas greatness!
This is so true. 😂
Shakey Graves - Late July, is a must do.
Check out late july by shaky graves next, you'll love it.

Just did Ocean! ruclips.net/video/_TxwEIyq-Wg/видео.html
My daughter introduced me to this bloke via THAT clip a few years ago. Blew my mind. Still does. 👍
Saw him twice in Hamburg, Germany. He is one of the most enjoyable musicians I’ve ever seen. The band is really cool, too.
I love how you break things down. this is top notch content. I would watch you break down a song I hate.
sweet! You finally listened to Shakey Graves!!
Check out Pokey Lafarge sometime :D
I hope he does, love ole pokey
Post a link
Literally just got introduced to Pokey LaFarge today!
@@The1mpa1er we saw him solo back in 2008, and it's been amazing to watch his band grow and his music evolve.
Seek out the album "marmalade" if you can,
It was his 1st album, and quite unique.
I would love to suggest it for this channel, but there is no videos of that era.
@@The1mpa1er this is a GREAT example of early Pokey:

He needs to rename this series, "Trying Not to Fall in Love with These Singers"
Getting to watch someone discover Shakey for the first time is such a treat
This song is chillingly powerful. I love seeing someone else feel it.
its crazy how folk music has made such a big comeback
Mandolin Orange, "Wildfire"
Lost Dog Street band, "September Doves"
Benjamin Tod, "we aint even kin"
Second on all
Your channel has now become part of my day ,,greetings from lockdown ,Ireland ,
As a Guitarist 🎸 and Drummer.. this guy is extremely talented… LOVE IT!! 🤘🏻
This is still my favorite youtube video of all time. From Shakey to MP.... amazing.
