Instantly came to Comment Section just after seeing that xD
Yep, they just make water from electricity. E=MC^2 easy!
Yes and only power at night and he wonders why he then runs out of power in the day since he doesnt play in the night 'after dark'.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😤😤
I love how "crime rate is high" at the ferry harbor. Like people take the ferry to another island just to rob people there.
I was like "wow this guy sounds exactly like James from The Sim Supply" *reads description* "wait this IS James from The Sim Supply" 🤦♀️
OMG, That's exactly what I thought!! LOL
TMMCA THAT WAS ME LAST YEAR!
The "Hey guys!" totally threw me.
I'm new here and thought: "Woah, this guy really sounds alot like TheSimSupply..."
me too!
I’m new and I was watching and it was killing me that I couldn’t figure out who I was hearing until I checked the description and saw James and it clicked
Omg..
Omg same 😂

Imagine having 800 people on a bus stop, lmao
Fortnite should see this
average day in Russia
I laughed so hard at the thought of this, solid 5 minutes easily
I got 1k one time and 3k on a train station...
I had 3000+ at one before I had set up the metro for that area... Then I moved the bus stop because it was in the way.
And let me tell you folks, a 3.3GHz i5 is weak and pathetic when C:S decides to recalculate the paths for and move 3000+ people at once.
I really like this idea of set islands for each zone type! I wonder how far you can take this if you were to use the other islands on this map?
Cool idea, horrible city planning though
There is a road-type mod which can be used by both bikes and pedestrians. You could either use that one, or two different vanilla roads, to connect the two islands, and see if there are people using them.
Also, that pollution shape on the sea/ocean at the end though.
Do a city with only trams and monorail. No private vehicles allowed
*soviet anthem starts playing*
@@AleronWolf GOOOOOD SEEES AMEEEERICA!

Sadly, that's impossible. Roads are needed to place homes.
@@ninetails8471 But it's possible to ban certain vehicles from using the road
I think it's totally possible to complete this challenge without unlock all and unlimited money. Maybe start with everything on one island (including industrial) to collect some money and save on harbours. If there's not enough space, terraforming more land for yourself is acceptable within the challenge imo. Then, as you get high density, replace all residential, make enough money to sustain the harbours and ferries and move industrial to another island. There's probably something I'm missing, just my thoughts here
Yes
Isn't a problem playing without everything unlocked that you can't get harbors until you reach a certain population milestone and that you can't get any people moving in without the harbor?
"I'm having garbage problems, SO MAYBE WE SHOULD PUT A POLICE STATION"
Was there a cut there? Cause I definitely put in garbage dumps and that, may of cut it out though haha
Arrest the garbage
Arrest those who complain about garbage problems
He actually said he had crime problems after it only quietly
that poo spill at 30:10 is... a shape
i cant unsee
Bro i actually came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed it haha
Big thick black dick
Hahahahhahqhqhq
Was going to say the same thing haha
These challenges are fresh to watch. Speaking of fresh, I think Dirtroit needs to be written on the history books now and start a new city
Ruri Shironeko i like dirtroit so far. he should stop around episode 50.
I WANT MAPLE LEAF CITY 🇨🇦🍁NICE AND ICYYY...
Seriously? He's building some awesome stuff in Dirtriot and he's not even close to finishing it.
Very fresh to watch👍
The water pollution keeps growing and its ridiculously funny
Alison Drake That’s what the governments say every day
It got really big in the end
not even trying to be that person or anything, but the sewage dump water looks VEEEERY phallic 😭😂
Thank you. I was hoping I wasn't the only one who saw that...
you should start a series using all 27 islands
Oh YES!!!!
I agree, with no bridges between them! Because Boat lives matter! 😂😃
Also please clean up that water pollution from the Industrial island! 👍
@@ChazEvansdale thinking about isolating the islands
City Skylines but James builds a poopier version of Staten Island.

you should make a series with this map
Yeah, maybe slightly more and larger islands. I think a few of these smaller islands are fun, but for larger cities it'd be nice to have a larger island. Kinda like a Caribbean setting.
@@JoshuaHere good idea
would be a short series tbh
Caribbean setting would be awesome tho
Small(ish) Islands, No Roads connecting the Islands, Importing Everything, Doesn't that sound Familiar? *Cough Cough* Hawaii *Cough Cough*
Hawaii does produce agricultural goods last I checked or something like that but yeah imports a lot
More like Trinidad and Tobago
Yeah but Hawaii doesn’t use ferry’s, it uses planes. Only two of the islands even have a ferry between them.
@@brendonhalverson5178 I'm surprised by that it would be a lot cheaper to use ferries instead of aircraft would it not?
Sounds like Malta and Gozo to me
The water pollution is a little questionable...
OWO
I noticed when I edited 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
shh, no one needs to know. dont worry about the fishies. shhhh it will be ok :D
Lol
it looks like the St Lawrence river with all the raw sewage Quebec dumps in it
Lmao
Loving these little challenges! Looking forward to more of them with even stranger map types! Maybe a bigger challenge with a large city spread out over hundreds of tiny islands like these ones? (But where you're allowed to use roads and bridges). Consider making that your next project after Dirtroit, it would be a fun new take.
This is Cities Skylines trying to be like Anno 1800+Tropico 6 lol
Great idea!
Why Anno?

Build a city that is fully self-sustaining! Where you can let, say, a full year of in-game time pass without doing anything because the city's needs are fully balanced
*Thanos wants to know your location*
So nothing happens?
As all things should be
The residential island could definitely use more footpaths, a pedestrian path over the sea to the smaller island, and roads with cycle paths would really help to declutter the place and lower traffic 🙌🏻
This gave me an idea of banning trucks on the main city roads and just directing all trucks to a nearby cargo harbors instead, take the traffic to the sea! This is genius! Of course you'll then need a dedicated commercial area with another cargo harbor and a third one for interstate cargo.
Try redo this challenge but use all the islands with the most population possible and only have public transport to get arround

You need to sale this idea to the Governor of Puerto Rico to connect the big island of Puerto Rico to the island of Vieques and Culebra Island and it's 199 inlets and attols. The people are upset with boats not working all the time to transport them to the big island, where they work every day.
just got the game, watched a ton of vids, you´re the first one that sounds like a human beeing, calm voice, explaining proper, funny, thank you =)
Imagine, if you start up a low-cost car rental business on both sides of the bridge renting Smart and Segway.
“roads a little steep but it’ll do.” Tennessee: nice thinkin
You should expand to the other islands with the same general concept of avoiding bridges!
Show us the city after dark. Do that for all your creations, I love seeing the lights of civilization from the air.
Love the vid and the commentary. Entertaining little challenge jumping rapidly from issue to issue with a generous helping of Flabiliki-chuckles (flabi-chucks?). Nice addition to the more regular longer form content (which i also greatly enjoy).
The Dock is just VOMITTING cars onto the island ROFL =DDD
That's only because he stupidly placed a bridge that had no pedestrian path.
You should do a map that is just completely split down the middle by a massive lake / sea with only port connections. Make it like two continents
Istanbul
Im liking these challnges and also i think its time to start a new city
Nah, Dirtroit is way too unfinished
Imagine having to go to work on a whole other island and you miss the only ferry to it.
I was just thinking. If you were to disallow cars on the road leading away from the ferry on the residential island, you could, in theory, make that island 100% public transit and delivery vehicles. The idea being, if the cars can't leave the ferry area, they can't be anywhere else on the island.
For your next long series it would be cool to see a city like this. Maybe more islands on a larger scale. If you kept commercial and industrial on one island with residential on another you wouldn’t even need cargo delivering between the two, just passenger lines.
Before I saw his other channels, I was like:
"this sounds like a youtubers that does the sims"
*looks*
HELLO JAMES!
ngl until he said "dollars" I was completely oblivious to the fact that he's an aussie, like I just never thought about it
I love watching all the little ants walking across the bridge.
Wow...this island setup, kind of reminds me of Malta (Malta, Comino, and Gozo)....very nice
All that poop really started to look phallic by the end of the video
freaked me out with how similar you sound to the sims supply, then i was like "oh WAIT"
Next time, ban CARS on the road that is attached to the harbor, so effectively NO cars are allowed on your island. Those islands are so small, people can walk, or even take a metro. But just ban cars on any entrance area.
liking these challenges do more please
Wow you sound exactly like The Sim Supply!
*looks at YT name* wait...
Not gonna lie, when I subscribed to the sim supply, there was a significant period of time during which I was confused by how similar he sounded to Flabaliki (who I had been subbed to for a while) before I finally figured it out
Omg I just had the same realization....
@@junniperjess1639 ME TOO it took me ages to realise! Always thought how strange it was that they had the same voice, vocabulary, face.... everything.... LOL
Ohhhhhhh
James, You should have put a bus route on the industrial island, from the port and up looping around. because the people that were bussing to the port in the residential island were then suddenly driving from the port to work on the industrial island
Oh so literally the colonial era of Tropico in the first mission.
Glad to see you changing it up.
The harbor is basically your highway connection to the outside. Game mechanics wise, there was no way for people to get into your map and then onto that island because you didn't have a road connecting the starting highway one of the ferry points.
Dude, James, There's a guy with a channel called The Sim Supply, he sounds just like you!
He is the sims supply like yttwm 🙄
thats... the joke..
Never saw a gameplay of this game before, and oh God, this thing is beautiful! Nice ideas by the way
the reason nobody was moving in at the start is that neither of your islands had a connection to the outside world until you added the harbour, so nobody could get in (or out)
Looks really nice actually. Of course, the tradeoff is having to take the ferry if you're an industrial worker :P
‘We are running out of water let’s increase the water budget’
1. The city is literally surrounded by water!
2. You raised the electricity budget...
I was like: I remember that voice from somewhere, now I know you are that sims guy.
That sims guy
That pollution tho. RIP those going to the beaches in neighboring islands
3:10 We will start off with windmills.
**Places wind turbine**
Not seen a video of you for quite a while, probably since sedona, but this is good fun!
Jee Aa En Lourens : You're missing Dirtriot
Lmaoooo at the giant shit smear on the industrial island. Lol this video is gold
For power, use landscaping to make poles in the water and build Wind Turbines on top of them
I always find it very satisfying to watch the people move between places without a road connection lol
>click random Cities Skylines recommended video
>It's James
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
You could've moved your ferry building on the residential island off of the commercial section so that all the guys going to work on industrial island don't have to cross the bridge to get the ferry.
The reason you don't get a lot of industrial demand is because you have built a harbor, in that time the game thinks the city's now relying on turism that's why they are unlocked mid-game because at that point you are supposed to have a propper city and enough turism activities and attractiveness.
Also to fix the trafic, promote public transportation, the more the merrier. Or allow the policy of bicicle encouragement. Or you could also connect the entire island with pathways so civilians don't have to use vehicles all the time, this one is somewhat difficult to manage but is the more profitable of all. Vehicle ban is also an option, but not viable for the city economy.
This video popped up on my news feed. I clicked on it. Heard the voice. And it took me a minute. But. Sims supply.? Yes!😂🙌
I think a cool idea for a normal let's play on this map would be to turn those two islands into high density residential areas. Or maybe tourist areas.
It was the wind turbine making all that noise you didn’t have to move the residential area Just move the Wind turbine
Interesting experiment. A shame there's no scale to the ports, like having a smaller one with a smaller capacity and smaller upkeep. I think it would work if you worked up to it by settling the larger island first to set up your economy to support something like this later.
One of the coolest City Skylines videos! Makes me want to pick up the game again
All your traffic is deliveries. Makes sense. Port-to-Commercial. Make it delivery-only roads and get the few cars off. You'll still have tons of deliveries though. Island isn't big enough for a cargo terminal. Not sure how to solve that problem.
I really like this smaller challenge type city projects they add variety to your bigger city series.
Should do a replica of the Hawaiian islands with each being unique. Sort of this but larger scale would be a fun series with the right buildings
Cities: Skylines 101 - consider building offices before putting down a primary school
It is you! Used to watch the Sim videos, then found some Cities by another RUclipsr that really reminded me of you (Biffa) and then stumbled upon these yes! Now I get Cities but with James. I'm complete.
actual place where noise comes from: that wind turbine
Okay but that road to the ferry on the smallest island is terrifying. Very steep with a sharp drop off to the ocean RIGHT next to the road.
I'm really keen for these challenges/scenarios! More please.
i was just about to say that you sounded just like the sim supply and then i realised that you were the sim supply 😂
First time watching Semaj not on sims supply and I gotta say, the "hey guys, flabaliki here" reeaallly caught me of guard haha
After only watching The Sim Supply for so long it was weird hearing him say "hello flabaliki here today"
You need to sprinkle commercial areas in your residential areas to reduce traffic so they can walk places
He says: we don’t need to dump it on residential.
And then immediately points the sewage outlet towards residential.
Hm.
Classic james
This is like a poem I’ve read called the tale of two cities where one island was purely industrial and one was more of a green environmental friendly island
What about a three tile challenge? One mainly residential, one mainly commercial and one mainly industrial.
haa haa 4:14 first discussion about traffic. LOL :D Traffic in this size of a city should be almost nothing.
Although, now that I look at your res/com area. Perhaps you should have a 4 lane the length of your bridge connected road.
Redo this challenge but: Use trains to get from 1 island to another whilst only bringing folks in via an airport?
Sounds simple really... but can be challenging as you have to use 3 islands: the biggest one for the airport then the 2 you used in this video - just so you have some space - if you want to use all the islands connected via trains, that's fine too
30:17 that's one big black polluted water you got there
I have one city with one section that is an archipelago with one ferry route connecting all the islands to the mainland. I created service tunnels for only trucks, but now that I know that you can locally deliver cargo I might just remove the tunnels.
i would loooove to see you complete this map in the same fashion, maybe turn off unlimited money to continue the challenge and then you also have to clean up that poop :D
