    There is a little priming pump on the top of the fuel filter. You can prime the filter by pumping with hand about a minut. Pump is the big knob between hoses with white and green clip.

    Can I just say if I may ! There is a priming button on the top of the housing ! You touched as you said there wasn’t 👍🏻, it is an easy job without removing the wipers and plastic section , also leave the pipe on the turbo itself :) .

    Thanx for an excelent tutorial, even if you have a lot of experiance with mekanics it saves a lot of time and extra work if you can see someone do it proper before going at it yourself without a clue. This is especially true with all panels and stuff that is so easy to damage if you don´t know how it is meant to be done.

      Thanks for your input Colin, I since found that have seized/in operational primers. I am not sure why this. They were not on a 3008 but same type filter system.

    Don't replace the oil drain plug until you've removed the oil filter as the filter retains oil until removed and will dump 2-300ml of old oil into the sump

    Good guide thanks. Also if you switch ignition on and press the accelerator pedal down 5-10 times before trying to start the engine, it will run the fuel lifter pump again for 20s or so

    I got to 2:38, to remove the plastic panel to get more access, but it seems stuck to the glass and I'm afraid it might break the seal between the windscreen and the panel. Peugeot 5008.

    • @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage
      @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage  6 лет назад +1

      No it is not a primer, it is a solid black plastic piece but not a primer, it is like this in many of these type fuel filters. Easy to get confused if not used of them and it certainly does look like it could have being one.
      Hope this helps

      Gerard Burke I serviced 2012 Citroen C4 1.6 dsl a few months ago and that was how i bled it by priming that button i never thought it was there i thought it was part of the filter housing...it was a Citroen mechanic that gave me the tip when I bought the filter in the main dealer.

      Thank you for your reply again, here is a link of another fuel filter I done, this one is on a Peugeot partner/Citroen berlingo
      ruclips.net/video/zlndzsu5XHo/видео.html
      In this video you can see me use the primer you are speaking of, I am familiar with these types of filters.
      I have also linked this other video with a Citroen DS3 that had the same type check out from @10;25 onwards for the fuel filter
      ruclips.net/video/BdJjhegpNRE/видео.html
      In any case, I tried that way on this also but it was completely solid and no priming action was possible, this is not the first time this has happened where I came across a solid type with no primer (link above) BUT I will check the housing out of interest next time the vehicle is in, maybe it is a rock solid jammed primer, I did not look on the underside when I had it out to confirm.
      All good info and that can help people so thumbs up for taking the time to comment. I hope you have enjoyed some videos on my channel.

      Gerard Burke thanks for the info and also taking the time to reply... I’ve subscribed to your channel and found it very good so big thumbs up 👍 I’m in this trade 30 years and picked up some useful tips from you 👍 as the saying goes you learn something new every day. I hope you didn’t think i was being critical towards you in anyway because i wasn’t. Look forward to the next video. Regards Eric.

      Never thought you were being critical, it felt like you were trying to give me info on a job to make it easier, I try and take in whatever I can in all jobs & in this game nobody knows everything. If someone knows an easier way then that's nothing but useful.
      Thanks for your kind words, it is appreciated. I always try to reply when I can. Thanks again Eric.
      Regards

    I have just changed the fuel filter and the car won't start. I didn't add any diesel to the filter. Is this a reason why car won't start?

    • @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage
      @GerardBurkeBurkesGarage  5 лет назад

      To help get it restarted again, check to see if the primer button is functional on yours, prime/pump it until it gets solid and the filter will be filled, see if that sorts your problem, will take a good bit for engine swings to go. I hope this helps

      You can drain the engine oil quite sucessfully through the dipstick tube with this...... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7L-Manual-Pump-Fluid-Extractor-Vacuum-Oil-Transfer-of-Car-Diesel-Fuel-Litre-Tank/123531232777?hash=item1cc3090609:g:pvEAAOSwT9Zd6b3S

    Hi stupid question :) where is fuel filter on Peugeot 3008 2012 Vti gasoline engine? 🤔

    • @GymChess
      @GymChess 4 года назад

      Since you havent got an answer to your question: it's most likely inside the gas tank. That means in order to change it, you have to gain access to the pump inside the tank. Only rarely is it even necessary to change it, if ever, unless the fuel for some reason is dirty.
