Thank you. Your video saved my money. It took me 40 minutes to get the job done under snow😊. Before the filter change, my engine will cutout at anything above 2000rpm. I felt so bad at vehicles behind me especially when starting to drive from a traffic stop. Today, my Peugeot 407 takes off like a jet plane 😮. Thank you dude
Great video, thanks for that! What I couldn't find anywhere was instructions on how to bleed water from the filter which you are supposed to do with every oil change. Cheers!
@@PiggyPower I change oil every 7,500km and a fuel filter is at least $80 AUD. Bit pricey to replace them every time... Thanks for the video. Excuse my ignorance with this question but would a clogged fuel filter cause loss of power in acceleration, and is this fuel filter replaced as standard during a major service? I’ve recently had an engine fault related to low DPF fluid and had the bag replaced. The fault code remained despite the mechanic clearing it and since then I’ve had that stated loss of power. Car is due a service, but wanted your thoughts given your obvious expertise. Thanks in advance. Loved your video.
Major service would include it. A fuel filter would have to not have been changed almost since new to be clogged enough to cause fuel pressure issues, which would log a fault. The dpf issue is likely causing problems maybe even low power. Fix the current faults. 🐖👍
Thank you sir, this saved me a lot of time and mental pain 😅 My 308 had "depollution system faulty". Does anyone know should the error message refresh by changing this filter or should it be manually refreshed?? Thanks!
It's good you've managed to change the fuel filter... but what lead you to believe that was the fault?? What was your diagnostic process? I'd be shocked if that code came up due to an old fuel filter. Like, very shocked.
@@PiggyPower I found couple of threads online suggesting that for reason. That said, it also might be several other things, apparently.. . But at least it would also match the mileage, since my 308 has 240 000 km and interval for fuel filter was 120 tkm if I remember correctly. Yeah this can be annoying. Couple tricks; 1) fill the fuel filter housing with diesel before installing (quite messy) 2) use a vacuum hand pump to prime the fuel filter once installed (£15-20 on eBay)
It would have to be completely clogged/disintegrated. Most likely something else but if you haven't changed it for a while...maybe some routine maintenance wouldn't hurt

Water sinks to the bottom, you drain it out if the housing has a drain screw. However, I'd simply change the fuel filter at every oil change.

Thanks for the vid! But the engine won’t start still. Been priming for 30 minutes. I got a good pump I’m my forearms now 😅 Any suggestions?
Primed with the bleeder open ? The primer might not be working. Try getting a vac pump to pull fuel into filter. Or prefill filter.
Do we have to unscrew the plastic screw on the top?
Why did you do it?
No and no I did not undo it. I explained it in the video why you wouldn't do it while bleeding and what it's for!!
