    thanks for the answer I was looking for to my engine oil concerns - got my peugeot 2.0 bluehdi serviced last week, did only about 40 miles and thought to inspect the oil on the dipstick which to my surprise looked as black as before, so started digging through internet to find out if that can be right or I have been scammed, found some contradicting articles but I'm finally happy after seeing this video right there it's nothing unusual. thanks for posting this!

    He's a one of best mechanic for Peugeot/Citroën/Volvo/Ford. He did the job 100% professionally for 1.6hdi engine.
    I sold/px my peugeot 307 1.6hdi 90bhp 2005 last week with 182000+miles (CK55PKC anyone can check mot mileage history) with original engine + gearbox + original turbo +original injectors with perfect mechanically fit. I do service between 3000 -----5000 miles every single time with engine oil flush and use always c2 low saps oil and tight up nicely injectors 8 bolts without torque wrench. I bought in 2014 with 123000 mileage after buying change oil pick up little pump located in sump and change turbo oil feed pipe and remove plastic filter from new banjo bolt n old one fitted with mesh gauza type filter ( when you use c2 oil and service under 5k miles then no need filter in banjo bold this little piece of s*** kill the turbo. I change fuel filter twice in 60k milage. I bought again peugeot 2008 1.6hdi with 8v 92 bhp. Let's see how this goes 🤞👍🙏 in shaa Allah hope for best.
    I am not a mechanic but always try to learn from professionals ( i learn this schedule of serviceing and things from respected Irish mechanic )

Not sure if that's the case, but would be eager to keep it well maintained in any case. Am used to doing Audis, but that 1.6 hdi looks handy enough. Thanks for the full and thorough demonstration

    I also like Blue Print filters; just replaced the cabin filters in wife's C3 with Borg and Becks which are much firmer than other makes.
    On our C4 Picasso 2017, the cabin filters are in the driver's footwell behind the heater, you need to be double jointed!
    I always put a new copper washer on the sump plug - the time I didn't I got a leak.

    thanks for the video, helps me as I just moved from the 16 to the 8 valve HDI. The change of the fuel filter is for the worse, big mess. What you called a sensor is probably a heating element.

      Is the 8V engine better than the 16V? No injector seal problems?

    • @cyberbob4111
      @cyberbob4111 Год назад +3

      @davidk.713 the 8V version has no (0) power below 1.200 rpm, while the 16V stormed ahead, right from idle - VERY BAD!!! As mitigation a 6-speed gearbox is installed, which shifts somehow unprecisely and stiff. The 6th gear however adds cruising comfort. Many components (glow plugs, high pressure fuel pump, rail) allow for much better maintenance access. DPF regeneration takes only half as long as for the 16V, while less additive is injected, I wonder how that works. The fuel consumption of the 8V is significantly (approx. 15%) less. While I believe, that the engine (minus 1 camshaft, 8 valves, rockers and hydros) should weigh less as the 16V and the car feels as if they traded stiffness for weight reduction, the car (identically configured) actually gained 13Kg according to papers - very strange. No seal problems yet. The cause of that one were the engine vibrations loosening the injector screws. Once loose, the exhaust pressure lifts the injector and causes hot gas to penetrate the space above and below the seal, burning gaps and channels into its copper. This can be avoided by regularly checking and tightening the screws.

    When adding the new oil filter should the oil filter first be drenched in oil to avoid air pockets forming which risks dry engine start up? Should I pour oil into the center hole of the filter until it’s about two-thirds full and let it soak in for a minute or two?

Oil filter and air filter went well but once i took the fuel filter apart i noticed that the long bit that runs right through the middle had snapped or looks more like its been sawed off!? Had no idea what it was for so bought a whole new housing on amazon but now seeing your video explaining what its for i realised that there was also blue tac or something squished around the drain pipe of filter! Had the van 6 years always serviced at same place till this time and feel robbed. Dont get me started on cabin filter, looks a difficult job to do but wanted to try anyway and loan behold the filters have just been crushed inside and there is no way to retreive them

    What a pig of an engine bay to work on. My LHD Multispace doesn't have access to the pollen filter like this one. I spent 45 minutes removing all the fecking trim to find no access panel. F*uck knows. The last garage we took it too did up the oil filter with an air gun as I could barely move it with a 1M bar!
    Im not having fun working on this. My 2007 Fiesta is just as bad for the pollen filter but the rest is easy even with a 2.0 in the tiny bay. My lovely old Escort (1972) is a piece of piss in comparison. Im sure the designers make them this awkward to charge more labour.
