    If you do ladder drills you will get better at the ladder. It has a very low transfer rate. Do sport/skills specific training and get in the weight room and strength train and do Plyometrics. Make sure your times, loads, repetitions, intensity levels and recovery match the sport/skill you’re training for.

    • @jacobs3614
      @jacobs3614 4 года назад +2

      Finn Lum But you can do plyometrics that help you make sharp turns and transfer weight also, right?

      You guys are reacting as if the video is saying “ladder drills are the end all be all”. When combined with sports specific training, cardiovascular, mobility and resistance - ladder drills most certainly assist with development. There are always people in the comments who are going to try to be negative. Keep training everyone!

    • @aminalstudios7959
      @aminalstudios7959 4 года назад +1

      @Finn Lum They mostly have helped me with body coordination, I feel like I have gained more control over my movements rather than it helping my actual speed and agility.

    • @domesticatedape4378
      @domesticatedape4378 3 года назад +1

      You're right, training the ladder will get you good at the ladder, but quick feet are quick feet. As a personal trainer I have clients that don't play sports, most of them actually. But they love and are enthusiastic about ladder drills and cone drills.

    • @StarboyAce7
      @StarboyAce7 4 года назад +2

      Yes. But, it's not the quantity of the training its the quality. You must concentrate on every rep and not rush it. Furthermore, believe in yourself and don't lose motivation because it won't happen overnight. Hope this helps :)

      Yea bro, my mate applies these principles in rugby too with everything, he said if you can learn to rapidly relax and contract your muscles at the point of impact U can generate the maximum amount of force needed to increase your speed
