PointCrow is the most genuine streamer i've ever seen. He really loves doing these things, and he's built up a wholesome community because of it. He really deserves to be treated as though he chose to do these things, to enjoy them with his chat, and to just have a good time! Please don't be toxic; if he wants your opinion, he'll ask for it. Hearing Eric being this afraid to talk about an issue that is based on someone not taking action against hate coming from their community just makes me incredibly sad and frustrated. I watched some of smallants stuff before and didn't think he'd let this happen, just makes you realize that, once again, you don't know the Person behind the screen just because you watch their stuff. Just remember we are here for you, and playing a game that someone else does too, doesn't at all mean you're a copy cat because at the end of the day, both of creators have a different type of humor and way to go about the game.
I personally don't blame Smant for it, at least not entirely. It is not his fault that his community is toxic and can't differentiate a joke from a real thing, but he did had as a recurrent joke in the past that PCrow was a copycat, and even when his twitch chat knows that he is joking, mostly because he does tell them all the time is a joke, the youtube subscribers doesn't since they only see the clips when he jokes with that. Also, even when is not his responsability to scold them for that behavior, he does have the power to do so, but still chooses to not, and I do understand why cus toxic communities take that as a reason to hate even harder or to stop following or starting to hate him too, but still is a bad thing to ignore it and being totally oblivious about it even when your friend is the one affected by it and is bassically begging you to take action on the matter. Smant is a great person, but is not really good keeping frienships, somthing we know by the many times he talked about people that aren't friends anymore.
@@TitomaticoVlogsOficial I think I'm with you in saying that Smallant isn't entirely responsible for causing the hate. Smallant's on-air character has a bit of arrogance and good-natured teasing that would be fine between friends in a private discord call but because it's happening with an audience the toxic elements of the audience take it as permission to pile on and hate on PointCrow. However I think Smallant is absolutely responsible for how he responded after the problem was made clear to him. When it gets to the point of someone coming to you and saying that your audience is harassing them and it's making it hard to do their job that's when serious action is required. That's when you have to turn the on-air personality off, make a video telling your audience to stop, and setting up enforcement with your mods. They could set up a system where anyone hating on either streamer gets timed out (or banned) from both as a show of solidarity. It would probably be a lot of work but it's part of the responsibility that comes with having a large audience.
@@CraftersClub A bit? SmallAnt is one of the most arrogant individuals I've ever encountered. Every story he tells, it's some incredible story about he's the best at something or how he bested a situation. He thinks he's the best at every game he plays. He won "Speedrunner of the Year" even though he literally BARELY speedruns and he doesn't hold any records, and he touts it like he actually earned it.
Eric is more genuine, earnest, creative, and kind than Ant could ever hope to be.
5 months ago, Smallant did make a post on his RUclips channel about not being toxic to Crow, so you can't say that he didn't do ANYTHING about it. However, he didn't keep that up, that's true...

I’m really sorry to hear that that’s been happening! I have enjoyed some of smallant’s stuff, but if he is letting that happen I don’t think I want to watch his content anymore. If you don't feel good about watching Small Ants stuff anymore after this then all power to you. But if you do still enjoy watching him then I don't think you have to feel obliged to stop. Eric himself actively advocated against starting fights over this, so for the sake of settling this peacefully and quickly I think a big unsubscribe motion for the sake of Eric rather than personal enjoyment of content would be misplaced.

Its about me personally, not about Eric, he just brought that to light. And I do agree with you, if its for Eric, it would be misplaced. I think parts of the community have started seeing that Smallant has let things very much get to his head, i personally stopped watching there because of that.

When I saw this video, I wasn't excited because it was subnautica, but because it was pointcrow playing subnautica. With deltarune, I had fun till you didn't. I'd rather watch a 1000th person play minecraft and enjoy it than watch the first person playing subnautica and hate it. Follow your interests, because the ones who watch you probably share a couple of them. The "you're copying" argument doesn't hold a candle to that.

Seriously, SmallAnt is as much a “copycat” as Eric is. There’s hundreds of content creators, big and small, who’ve already done content on these games. SmallAnt’s not the first.

I love the fact that he has the courage to talk about the issue and bring it to light while also discouraging negativity to the community giving him hate. It takes a very mature person to do something like that. Also, I think it's great that he went to SmallAnt in private before bringing it public.
You and SmallAnt occasionally do similar content, which is absolutely ok! So that’s why people compare. But if they watch your content they’ll realize you do things completely differently and that makes the content you make different and fun in their own ways. Even if you’re playing the same game it’s still unique to you. There doesn’t need to be any comparison or name calling or toxicity because at the end of the day people are only here to watch your content and if they don’t like it there’s plenty of other creators. You’re great Eric, an amazing storyteller and a super fun personality, but something that makes you special is that you don’t disconnect yourself from your audience. You keep your distance but you’re always interacting with us and that’s special not everyone does that not even Ant. We feel more like a real PointCrow community rather than just an audience and we love you :))

Dude Subnautica isn't his game, even if he gave you the idea to play it, it's still your right. These people are toxic, just massively block them until they don't exist anymore. Subnautica is one of my favorite game and I think you're really funny and entertaining, it's a pleasure to watch you play this game, so don't bother with these people, they're not worth it

Who the fuck is the guy, im confused
The guy is SmallAnt, a fairly popular RUclipsr and Streamer and formerly held the world record of pencil sharpening. Ant is also recently playing Subnautica, and so did Crow. Since then, people thought Crow was copying Ant and that they claimed that Crow is faking his reactions and already knows the game, those people in turn harassed Crow. The likely reason Crow played Subnautica on the same month as Ant did is probably from direct inspiration, curiosity or plain interest (could even be a coincidence), he has every right to play and stream Subnautica. Ant and Crow aren't even fighting themselves, just those gullable people who are harassing Crow because of claims without solid proof.
@@justinwolfy6197 Also, Ant is aware of the harassment and has done nothing. Ant is a decent RUclipsr/Streamer, but him not dealing with the complications with Crow makes me think twice prior to my subscription to him.

Do you happen to use any wrist-rests (cushions) for your gaming rigs?
If so: get rid of them and just make sure your lower arms can comfortably rest on your desk.
Those cushions are extremely unhealthy by the way, so anyone reading this who uses them: they "close" your main artery a bit, causing less oxygen to reach your muscles.
Same if you wear wristbands or a watch, and let your arm rest on that.
Basically: make sure nothing is on your wrist or supports your wrist.
If non of the above apply, then I'm simply no longer qualified to talk about it and would recommend to ask your doctor 😅

It sucks that it came to this between you and Smant. I really do enjoy Smants content as well, but I do think that, as a content creator, you should try to keep your fanbase in check. Charlie is a great example for that and you, as well, advocated against hate in this video which I find admirable. I don't have a lot of insight on Smants approach in that regard since I don't watch him enough for that to be noticeable but if I take your word for it then I do believe you are in the right and he really should do better.

It’s honestly so heartbreaking that Eric has to address this in the first place. My heart goes out to him. People saying that he is copying someone else solely because they end up playing the same games is ridiculous! If playing the same game as someone made you a copycat, just about any players from any video game fanbase would be considered such. But they aren’t. It’s horrible that it’s perceived the exact opposite when it comes to content creators.
“Copying” games aside, Eric has such a wonderful personality in his streams and the fact that he is being the bigger person and addressing his situation while actively saying to NOT start fights or attack anyone is amazing. I hope that eventually, everyone will get their heads out of their asses and realize that people can play the same game differently from others.
Eric, your play style is always enthralling to watch, and I love how in so many cases you actually apply logic to your choices. The way you go about so many games is so different from how I or others would play them, and honestly, it makes them so much more enjoyable. I’ve always been a silent viewer, watching videos and vods since you started streaming, and with that, I’ve seen the way certain communities react to you. It’s genuinely horrible and no person should be treated such way. Keep your head up man and don’t stop being YOU!

Personally Subnautica is one of my favourite games and I really hope streaming doesn’t ruin it for you, but on top of that, it’s incredibly disheartening seeing stuff like this happen, especially to the point of you having to talk about it.
I’m also disappointed in the other half of this, where other content creators are aware of it happening and yet don’t do anything about it.

I feel like it doesn't get said enough, having an audience is STRESSFUL. Dealing with the hate and trying to foster a community while keeping your online image in top shape is INCREDIBLY difficult. And honestly pointcrow does an incredible job at this. I'm not just saying that for pity, it's just true. When I first watched undertale and pcrow told his chat not to help or spoil I thought to myself "there's no way that's gonna work. It's undertale one of the most backseaty games of all time. He's probably gonna end up turning off his chat" and I watched in awe as the chat was almost completely rid of spoilers
Pointcrow, you've got something really special going. You're fostering an incredible community, your charisma and optimism is unmatched and completely unique. So keep going and stay strong.

In my experience, one of the best ways to combat hate is to show compassion. For the past few months, every time this one person sees me in the hallways at school, they call me names like "whore" and "creep", but every time I see them, I smile, wave, and ask them how their day was. I don't mean to compare my struggles with yours, but I do feel that repaying toxicity with more toxicity only adds to the hate. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't, but know that we're all here for you.
Compassion is not a good way to handle hate I'm sorry, separation is. Waste no energy on those who hurt or abuse. Compassion doesn't help people in abusive relationships, nor would compassion help places like Ukraine who are fighting against extermination.
I had a really mean girl in class when I was younger. She was always looking for drama while everyone else in my class was super chill and it really made for an unnecessarily hostile environment. She made up rumors about my parents being murderers etc., she was really whack. One day I had enough of it and me and her got into an argument and she grabbed my bike when I was trying to leave to go home, I smacked her hand off of it and grabbed her by the throat and told her to leave me alone or else. She never even dared to look me into the eye after that, sometimes violence is the answer lol. Acting like Gandhi isn't always the answer, not every situation needs a similar approach.

This level of negligence from a creator when dealing with their fanbase is unacceptable honestly.
When you have influence, use it wisely. Use it to bring people up, and bring your fanbase in and talk with them if they step out of line.
This isnt a rag on anyone, and im not trying to be toxic. Im just saying this is dissapointing behavior from a streamer i used to enjoy.

Yeah I think I'm gonna unsub too... I just can't respect someone who can't do like a bare minimum for someone who should be a friend. It's his responsibility to control his fanbase, and the fact he won't shows a pretty distinct lack of caring. Especially if it has progressed this much.

As viewers, we all need to understand that more than one creator can enjoy and make content about a certain thing. As viewers we can enjoy different creators doing the same thing.
You are not a copycat. You're a content creator just as valid as any other content creator.

I'm so glad you decided to keep playing this game, I don't really care who's played it when and people shouldn't because that's not the only reason we watch playthroughs. I personally watch to see numerous people's perspectives and experiences, not for the gameplay, I experience that on my own laptop. It's very disappointing to see well known influencers and entertainers abusing their power like that especially when they'd previously had a positive relationship with that person. It's unfortunate but again, thank you for continuing to play this game because I'm so ravenously hyped to see your reaction to a lot of Subnautica's incredible moments and story!
As a viewer of both of you i watch you for your character and your personality i really dont understand the need of people to compare you and your content to someone else, you bring different things to the table as content creators even playing the same games. Subnautica has been downloaded 4.5 million times. If playing it is copying someone else then we've all copied someone. Streaming playing subnautica is stealing of anyone it's who streamed it first. That's neither Pointcrow or Smallant.

Just to double down on what everyone else has said: playing games that other people play is just, how it is on RUclips. I, love watching multiple people play the same games bc everyone plays and interacts with the world differently. I personally have been waiting for more of my fave streamers to play this one, it's one of my all time faves. I too thought that some of that bullshit was 'a bit' between you and some other people, and I'm glad you spoke up about it because it has gone on for way too long and gone WAY too far. Even if it did start out as a joke, it hasn't been funny for ages :/. This vod is not new so idk how likely it is that you'll read this Eric, but if u do happen to see this: i get muscle spasms in my leg bc of anxiety and stress and caffeine can make it worse, and apparently that's not unusual for ppl with a lot of tension in their bodies. Maybe that's the reason or part of the reason why your arm spasms

Its likely because Smallants audience is a bit on the younger side, and they tend to be a bit more unhinged on the internet
You're definitely not playing too slowly, I promise! When the game first came out, the first playlists of the game were like.. 70 half-hour parts, and those parts were edited down. Subnautica can be a bit of a grind at the beginning, especially since the player isn't sure what to do, and there's so MUCH to do! I really appreciate the VODs and seeing the entire journey!
Also glad you're enjoying the game so far, even if it is scary. The moment I saw those purple warping guys, I cheated and turned on God Mode hahah. I kept God Mode on for the rest of the game, and I was STILL scared :'D

Fandoms are a double-edged sword. On one end, fandoms can create amazing works driven by passion for, in this case, a streamer they enjoy. I am also one of the silent viewers that enjoys the VODS and have watched your videos for the past 2 years. I am happy to hear that you are brave to express your concerns to your viewers that the viewers will support whatever decision you do. I feel sorry for the drama that has been going on for years and the streaming culture reminds me of ... well any gaming culture where competition is involved and people going straight to compare to see who is better. Or having that "Idol" mentality to bash anyone who attacks their "idol." Or anything with this "cancel culture" mentality. I don't watch SmallAnt, or never was a fan of SmallAnt based on initial videos. His content never clicked with me. I agree with other viewers to always continue to keep Chat in place with rules and social regulation, whether it's you or your moderations to remind the viewers.

I’ve been saving the subnautica playthrough for a while. It’s the best feeling to just binge a super fun series of a game I’d normally be too afraid to play (I don’t normally like horror or thrillers but subnautica is a different flavor). Both goes along the line of not being able to afford the game (time-wise and money-wise) cuz of college and just being fucking terrified.
