You explained shooting in SLOG-2 (8-bit) simpler, quicker and more effectively than most of the other content creators twice your age. Well done!
I recently bought my first camera, ZV E10, so Im new to all this camera stuff. I started playing around with PPs unedited and edited. I tried different settings recommended by plenty of "experts" but I found your basic PP6 profile with basic color grading or using a free LUT I found, works great for me. Thanks for the video.
Thanks mate, very pertinent and usefull
Great 👍 video thank you so much for explaining everything so well, it makes it so easy for me to understand.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the video omg
I have no idea how to use picture profile and I recently bought a sony A7III
Great video it’s really helped me choose how to start off using picture profiles, I have a question with the Cine4 profile, what do you put the other settings to be? Like exposure, zebra level, detail?
thank you, i did find what i'm looking for here! 💙💙
Amazung informative vid man, thanks!
*I use S-Log 3 because I love the flat look and I like to learn and still learn Color Grading. But I Have the FX30. Nice Video*

very well explained
Thanks!
I love this kid
Good luck ❤
Hey, fantastic video! I was just like you, using s-gamut color until DSLR Video Shooter recommended the ITU709 Matrix for 8-bit Sony cameras. I use it on the A7ii and it works like a dream with S-LOG 2. With that, there's always enough 8-bit color detail to push and pull. Thought this might help you, and good luck!
Basicall,y the S-Gamut color space is only in the consumer Sony Cameras for compatibility, and those cameras can not properly record all of the color data needed to properly use the S-Gamut colorspace. The result is awashed-out image, without much color to pull.
Thank you, I’ll have to try that out!
Nice video!
Hey mate, i just found your channel!

When you film yourself, do you film with AF-C or M focus?
When I film myself, I usually use Eye Autofocus to make sure that I'm always in focus. However, that's the only thing I leave on auto. I have my camera mode set to manual so I can set my shutter speed, aperture, and ISO and make sure they don't change throughout the video.
@@imdanielduncan Ah I thought you put your ISO to auto so you can overexpose by two stops as I saw that it is recommended for SLOG-2?
@@jaysonblando1338 If I’m using the exposure compensation to set it to +2 exposure I’ll set my ISO to auto, but if I’m using zebras I’ll set it manually.
@@imdanielduncan So it's basically either one or the other. It is not necessary to accomplish both at the same time. So, if I were shooting myself in a documentary manner or merely filming my face, I would choose ISO auto with exposure 2+, but if I was capturing stuff around me and specific items, zebras would be more helpful?
Great video!
Thank you so much!
hey man, you might be the first person on youtube that's actually explaing colour profiles on sony cameras. big things coming your way!
One question do you record videos in video mode or the M dial? and also raw compressed or uncompressed?
I shoot all of my videos in Manual Mode at 4k 24fps in S-Log2. I’m not sure about RAW compressed or uncompressed, I’ll have to check.
@@imdanielduncan cool thanks
One more thing can you make a tutorial in Davinci resolve on how you sharpen your footage and get a clean image
@@GottaVision I usually never sharpen my footage, it’s almost always straight out of camera (besides color correcting/grading.) Sometimes I might add some noise reduction in Final Cut Pro and set the sharpening setting to “very low,” but I usually don’t.
@@imdanielduncan 🔥🔥 keep up the good work and thanks again
Why you choose use s-log 2 in 8 bit camera?
S-Log2 just works better with 8-bit cameras. You can shoot in S-Log3 if you want, but the image may start to fall apart a little bit. I recommend S-Log2 for 8 bit cameras and S-Log3 for 10 bit cameras.
When should we you cine 4
Cine 4 is good if you know you don’t want to have to convert your clips to overexpose by +2 stops and convert your clips into Rec. 709 in post. It gives you some really nice colors and all you have to do in post is add some contrast and saturation.
My camera is A6400
Same possible?
Yes, you can use the same picture profiles/get the same results with the A6400
Im impress with you young men
Ur going to be big one day keep grinding
Thanks!
is there picture profiles that doesn’t need much editing and look good straight out of camera
If you have a camera that supports it, S-Cinetone would be a good one. However, all Picture Profiles require at least a little bit of editing. I’d say Cine 4 probably requires the least amount (if you don’t have S-Cinetone.) Just add some contrast and saturation (which can be done in almost any video editing software.)
Nice brother
Thanks!
This just convinced me to not get sony😅 but good job 😉
I came from threads nice vid
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
So what 40+ year old man wrote the script for this tiny little child?
I script, film, and edit all of my videos by myself.
Who is forcing you to film these videos D: hopefully your not making these videos against your will! You need to enjoy your youth!!
Wtf
😂 wtf are you saying?
