I think in the last 20 years they have really been listening to the complaints about how week the bass sounds, when Rob joined you could barley hear the bass live, and for the last few years it's been sounding good but this is probably the best I've heard Rob ever, apart from the Howard stern show Rob always sounds great on that show.
I saw them on Saturday and I love the bass in the bridge of " you must burn" before the solo, I thought I'd never hear it live. And it was so clear, so perfect
I am 45 years old. For about 30 years I've been listening to heavy metal and its subgenres. It's impressive. Nothing, absolutely nothing that was recorded or that is recorded surpasses: "Ride the Lightning", "Master of Puppets" and "... and justice for all". They are eternal albums. In 100 years when they talk about heavy metal, I'm sure these 3 albums will be cited as a reference. Metallica is the greatest metal band in history.
51 here and isn't it amazing that we can still rock out to these guys. Fully agreed, the best of all time and they'll probably never be surpassed by anyone ever. Their live performances are legendary. Hope they can go on for years to come!

I was there and I 100% confirm this. Especially on that night (first one) I kinda got sick of the crowd as I was the only one screaming on the spot where I was standing which was not far away from the stage. On the second night I went up front and it was much better.
I know, I was there as well. It's the bands I feel for when they look out and see a sea of people just standing there holding their phones up, instead of losing themselves in the music. I don't know what the answer is.

It's hard to argue they ever "went away" so to speak but this seems like a new level they haven't had since the Black albm. 72 Seasons are great, the live performances they've been uploading have been great, and somehow at ~60 years old these guys feel like they're in their prime.

One would think that as they are older, their performance would go downhill, but these guys sound better and better on every tour, they already sounded awesome on the Hardwired tour, now they sound even better. I'm so happy that I'll get to see them in September 2024!

For sure. It's the loud bass, no other version has this much bass guitar in it. Even the album version with Cliff playing doesn't have this much bass. Sounds awesome.

I've always felt this was the greatest song on the album. It's super heavy (my favorite riff is the bit Kirk plays at 3:20 and 4:23) and the lyrics are more relevant today than they ever have been.

Kirk looking pretty good for 60. I saw these guys live for the first time in a little 200 seat theater when Cliff was still with us. First time they played Vacouver and we were so stoked to see them. I really cant believe pretty much 40 years have passed. Not as big a fan as I once was but I'm glad to see they're still going strong.
Sound is incredible. They are playing these songs with precision, clean and tight. Metallica always sounds better live. They got some cool audio configurations to give the audience the best sound possible. Lars is doing some cool high hat stuff here 3:42

A good friend of mine K.J. ran their fan club up until Justice, we used to listen to practice tapes of the Puppets material and so many other things. I have only seen them live once, but they have been favorites for decades now, and I’m so happy to see them impressing everyone right now on this tour.

@@yourmetalsister2958 that is so awesome! I have a tape of their legendary Castle Donington show from the mid-80’s. A good friend of mine K.J. ran their fan club up until Justice, we used to listen to practice tapes of the Puppets material and so many other things. I have only seen them live once, but they have been favorites for decades now, and I’m so happy to see them impressing everyone right now on this tour.
I was hesitant about this performance before watching the video but i was shocked. From the middle to the end of the song is an adrenaline shot. Fucking great
