They could thrash with the best of them, they could slow things down and make it more brutal, the dynamics and hooks in their songwriting have always been on another level. This song is just a masterpiece.
Man, this song seems that has special place in James heart, he react the same when he played it back in the day. At Moscow 1991. Same action on stage, same body language. and it’s spontaneous.
Kirk Hammett' concert version of this guitar solo is amazing. I still consider him as my favorite electric guitar player in rock music after 17 years of listening to rock.
No. What he did here had no feel, and it didn't fit the song like the original solo which is much darker. Basically he messed up so he played gibberish. He does it to often now a days unfortunately. If only he would actually practice and care about his guitar playing. It's unfortunate.
@@lovemetal2467Kirk didn't mess up. He's always said he plays creatively live. Just because it isn't exactly how it's played on the album, doesn't mean it's gibberish.
@@yourmetalsister2958 You missed my point. As a lead guitarist he's literally become worse over the years, he messes up often live, and plays it off like he didn't mess up. I don't want to admit this, but when he started doing it more and more frequently about 12 years ago now, it was clear he wasn't practicing and becoming complacent as a musician, and that's the sad part that a fan for 26 years like myself doesn't wanna see. There's a reason why "Death Magnetic" has his best solos since that album, and some of those solos I think are the best he had ever written, like his solo in "Judas Kiss" it's mean, dirty, Bluesy, aggressive and raw. He's lost his feel for what he does. Sonically "72 Seasons" is brutal, dark, honest and heavy, but some of Kirk's solos almost make no sense for the atmospherics of some of the songs. It's easily the best sounding album they've ever made, with no dubbing, every guitar track is played all the way through, same with how James recorded the vocals. Hardwired was the first example of Kirk writing terrible solos with zero feel. I know Kirk has said he likes improvise live, but he's not in a Blues band, so playing a solo you already recorded off the cuff live doesn't fit the narrative or direction of the song and music. That would be as if they put Gary Moore in there to play an off the cuff solo, it wouldn't work. I've been a guitarist for nearly 23 years, and James and Kirk are the reason why I started back when I was 16, so seeing someone you always looked up to fall of his horse like that when he does, is kinda frustrating, because as a guitarist you just wanna see him nail every solo. So that's where I'm coming from. Sorry I wrote so much, I'm just a very passionate musician and lifelong Metallica fan. Take care man.🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻

I love your story about your 11 year old self. I was at this show, they were awesome. Long may they continue 🤘🤘🤘🤘And kudos to all the Met crew. They couldn't do this without them.
Kirk’s microphone is working!!!!😳😱🤯
seen them over 5 times. each time was just as good as the last. the crowd sizes never changes with these guys....compared to modern artists who couldn't sell this out even if they paid people to.
My greatest band of all time. I can only hope that their current tour can include a date for the hicks in Ottawa, Ontario
Legends. When I grew up my dad would play me Beatles, who by that time (80s) didn't exist anymore, same with led zeppelin, deep purple etc. But I grew up with Metallica and 40 years later they are still playing and kicking ass. Thats why they will be the greatest band of all time
They are and always will be. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm desperately waiting to hear ROOM OF MIRRORS LIve!
Моя любимая песня!!!❤❤❤❤
Wow Wow Wow. This is how tight you get after playing for 40+ years. Just incredible players making shit hot music look easy to play. This is maturity at another level!
One of my most favorite songs ever. Probably top 5. Love it live!!!!!
It made me shiver. What a damn riff
