I made some really good friends in the crowd and I remember we were playing air guitar together in one of the pits when the lead solos were playing. it was so much fun headbanging to the bridge and stuff. such a fantastic show, got to love one of the OG's in the metal scene playing so well infant of 120,000 people!

@@LukeGibsonSS You know what, I can imagine that. But let's not forget the guy was 60 years old in 2023 ffs. He's doing his best and in these official Metallica videos, every little thing has to pull in new fans. I really can't hold a grudge to Ulrich, he's proven again and again that he loves what he's doing and, given that he could have simply retired living a lavish life, he's still up there representing the best rock band at the present moment.
To be fair, bands have been dubbing "live" performances since the dawn of time. However, it's a bold move to do it in an age where there are probably 1000 fan videos of this song on RUclips.
I was there and listening metallica for 2 days was amazing. However, i need to say that lars actually couldnt play the twin part live. But in video we can hear all kicks as normally it should be. I mean they edited some part of drum later.

For over a year and half they’ve been my all time favorite band in my life! And I feel like they will stay my all time favorite there just a perfect band!💖I’m 20 btw
I love this song, every time it always has a different and cooler intro, even in Florence the beginning was like here with the flames. very cool, let's hope they return to Italy soon.
Rob is the only man that has to pick up his bass and carry it when he wants to walk, even though he has it strapped over his shoulder. 😆 His bass tone is just massive in this. Long live Metallica!
Everyone saying the double bass section was over dubbed, no it was not. There was a technical issue with the PA and depending on where you sat in the audience, it sounded god awful, what you hear in this video is how they actually played, maybe cleaned up a bit, but not over dubbed. Let's get the facts straight here.
My dad bought tickets to see Metallica, Pantera, FFDP, and more in Dallas. I’m so excited! Best birthday present ever and I cannot wait. I love one it holds so much meaning, and the rest is just good ass shredding.
No song i know of captures absolute despair as well as this. It helps me to listen to this song to remember im not alone in experiencing darkness. Like all of Metallicas music does.
I can't remember anything Can't tell if this is true or a dream Deep down inside, I feel to scream This terrible silence stops me Now that the war is through with me I'm waking up, I cannot see That there's not much left of me Nothing is real but pain now Hold my breath as I wish for death Oh, please, God, wake me Back in the womb, it's much too real In pumps life that I must feel But can't look forward to reveal Look to the time when I'll live Fed through the tube that sticks in me Just like a wartime novelty Tied to machines that make me be Cut this life off from me Hold my breath as I wish for death Oh, please, God, wake me Now the world is gone, I'm just one Oh, God, help me Hold my breath as I wish for death Oh, please, God, help me Darkness, imprisoning me All that I see, absolute horror I cannot live, I cannot die Trapped in myself, body my holding cell Landmine, has taken my sight Taken my speech, taken my hearing Taken my arms, taken my legs Taken my soul, left me with life in Hell

my phone got stolen the day before this show was on, and to be honest in some ways it was a blessing in disguise. it forced me to keep the technology out of it and enjoy every part of this gig, and boy was it good. I made some really good friends in the crowd and I remember we were playing air guitar together in one of the pits when the lead solos were playing. it was so much fun headbanging to the bridge and stuff. such a fantastic show, got to love one of the OG's in the metal scene playing so well infant of 120,000 people!
These guys are on my bucket list to see play live. Incredibly professional band.
Hoping for a DVD of both nights! It was phenomenal.
You can buy the audio of this, and let's hope they release a dvd.
I'm of the cd and dvd age. I got and collect music. Unfortunately now in the more modern age a lot of people just watch things on RUclips and other websites and stream and download stuff so bands releasing DVDs is more of a rarity nowadays.
What i love about Metallica is that every time they play their songs live its like they have never played them live before. They have the same passion they had 30years ago. They stay true to the original versions of the songs and they are not bored of them like other bands. Amazing job guys your the BEST❤
Just epic, nothing more. Metallica still here and we have to be thankful.
35+ years ago, I listened to this band on the tinny radio of my 81 Ford Escort. These old guys still draw a crowd. Rock on boys!🤘🤘
Love that you can hear the bass. And Justice for Jason!
First Metallica I learnt on guitar. Amazing song ever and first ever Metallica song I heard and how I got into them. Legends
5:43 this part is sick!!
Art, love, culture, pure art. Love u Metallica
best song EVER written. the video just enhances that. amazing band, through good times and horrible loss, theyre still giving us the best shit we're ever gonna hear!
We won't be able to see a band like Metallica again in the entire world, juat look at them, performing during 40 years and still getting better and better, i think they are unique in the world.
Nice to know that even with the new stuff, the old legends aren’t forgotten
James looks absolutely fantastic and very healthy.
Incredible live performance (i screamed my lungs out during that one part)
Pun not intended, of course
My voice was broken after master of puppets on night one 😂
We all did
@@joefoley9894that’s the way to enjoy a Metallica concert rock on man!🤟
LANDMINE, HAS TAKEN MY LUNGS
Beautiful double kick drum part straight from Pro Tools :-)
Yep, I was there and live it was out of time as shit
Absolutely gorgeous!! Love James, he's fire!! 🤘❤️🔥🔥❤️🔥🤘
The crowd is absolutely awesome, too, this rooocks!! 💥💥💥💯
The harmonising with the guitars is so beautiful
Absolutely amazing rendition. Everyobody was absolutely one fire ! Lars, Kirk, Rob, James... Amazing !!!
Lars on fire? Double kick was added in studio. Its fucking fake. Take a Look at shots from People phones in worse quality
Not Lars tho, he was f dubbed, unfortunately.
I was there and listening metallica for 2 days was amazing. However, i need to say that lars actually couldnt play the twin part live. But in video we can hear all kicks as normally it should be. I mean they edited some part of drum later.
They absolutely sound better than ever-!!Incredible!!! 🔥
the kings of metal!!! I love the small tweaks to the song, the more melodic vocals...this is one of their best performances of ONE. in my humble opinion. it was flawless.
The best concert ever was seeing Metallica outdoors around 18 years ago. I've seen other bands since and none have come close to the mighty Metallica 🔥
What a presentation… What a performance… What a song… what a band! ❤
One of my favourite songs from metalica
my first time seeing the guys live after 20 years being a fan, the whole two day experience blew me away and i am not in the slightest bit ashamed to say when they hit the stage i was tearing up like a kid.
You weren't the only one. It was a very emotional moment for a lot of people when they appeared on stage. I think that's part of the build up, when we hear ACDC then Ecstasy we know what happens next! Love these guys 🤘🤘🤘🤘
MetallicA please never retire 🤘
Pure brilliance hurry and bring this to Australia 🇦🇺
LONG LIVE METALLICA 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'm a roadie with Metallica. I wasn't able to do the European leg of the tour due to my fifth and sixth hernia surgery.
I'll be back in the USA and Canada tour.
I'll never quit 👍
Listened to Metallica for the first time in middle school and became a fan right away. I’m now 30 years old and still devoted to their music. I’ve seen them live several times and even met the whole band on March 2nd 2019 in Lubbock during a meet and greet session.
Metallica has been a statement in my life for over 7 years now they will always be my favorite band of all time ❤❤❤
For over a year and half they’ve been my all time favorite band in my life! And I feel like they will stay my all time favorite there just a perfect band!💖I’m 20 btw
@@goldenwolf8081 nice I’ll be 21 in August
33 years for me.
I have felt this way for 38 years.
Never let it go away.
about 7 years for me too, discovered them at age 13 just before hardwired
I love this song, every time it always has a different and cooler intro, even in Florence the beginning was like here with the flames. very cool, let's hope they return to Italy soon.
My song favorite one forever 😮
Best band to ever grace the planet, long live Metallica
Rob is the only man that has to pick up his bass and carry it when he wants to walk, even though he has it strapped over his shoulder. 😆 His bass tone is just massive in this. Long live Metallica!
Everyone saying the double bass section was over dubbed, no it was not. There was a technical issue with the PA and depending on where you sat in the audience, it sounded god awful, what you hear in this video is how they actually played, maybe cleaned up a bit, but not over dubbed. Let's get the facts straight here.
still going strong, stronger that ever, and the next albums will change everything and rock the world.
Mey-guh-theriummm... eats. No. Meat.
My dad bought tickets to see Metallica, Pantera, FFDP, and more in Dallas. I’m so excited! Best birthday present ever and I cannot wait. I love one it holds so much meaning, and the rest is just good ass shredding.
James voice is better than ever!
Metallica forever ❤
Rob sounds absolutely killer on this, the bass is SO thick!
Greatest ever
No song i know of captures absolute despair as well as this. It helps me to listen to this song to remember im not alone in experiencing darkness. Like all of Metallicas music does.
You're not alone. The Metallica Family is here for you. Sending you love 🤘🤘
I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or a dream
Deep down inside, I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me
Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there's not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please, God, wake me
Back in the womb, it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live
Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please, God, wake me
Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh, God, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please, God, help me
Darkness, imprisoning me
All that I see, absolute horror
I cannot live, I cannot die
Trapped in myself, body my holding cell
Landmine, has taken my sight
Taken my speech, taken my hearing
Taken my arms, taken my legs
Taken my soul, left me with life in Hell
Just came across this vid. & out of the music scene now but remember Donington 1991 & good to see they"ve still got it 👌
