Man dale is very under rated. He right about everything he says.
I agree, I think he knows turkeys better than anyone on RUclips.
Header "All day" yeah its Dale he has a iron rear end and mental focus of a Delta operative. Me my sciatic starts hurting and the ADD gets working.
Best turkey hunter to ever live I recon
I would really like to see a video on how you do your turkey pelts
I’d like that also
Saw you were doing a workshop for TWRA the 4th. Can't wait to see it!
Good video Matt as always. Very informative. I agree with you 100% regarding hunting near roost trees. Keep up the good work.
Thanks brother
The first 2 weeks in pa are til noon then the 2and week is all day. I love the videos Dale Outdoors. I have been learning more and more taking notes especially on turkey behavior. Good luck to everyone on the upcoming seasons.
2nd
All day hunts are challenging. Tough to keep your focus sunrise to sunset. Small sized property access permissions are tricky. But when the gobbler is willing to move to you, you need to be there. Thanks for the great
Very helpful videos buddy. Everyone of them have tips and tricks appreciate ya and good luck this spring
Great information, spot on.
I just wanted to say thank you for this info. I watched this while eating lunch went back out at 130 and my 7 year old daughter was able to take an Oklahoma tom at 220 because I used your lesson to call him in 20 minutes
first half of the season in pa cut off time is 12 noon then the second half of season is all day
We always enjoy your tutorials ! You provide lots of great knowledge and tips to make us better turkey hunters ! Thanks and have a safe and successful season !!
Dale.you.are.the.man.the.best.thank.you.tom.hudson
The first turkey I called up and killed by myself gobbled 3 times at 4:00 PM. Soft purrs and clucks and a 3 year old stepped out in full strut. He would strut, drum and almost run about 10 steps & repeat, until he was 15 yards away. I also don't believe in killing a turkey by setting up and waiting on one to feed nearby or return to roost. If he ain't coming to me and making some sort of noise in response to me, that just isn't fun.
Got one of your tank tops this weekend I don’t normally buy merch from pretty much anyone but I’ve been watching for 4 years now and you inspired me to go buy a grunt call two years ago which I called my first antlered buck in with so i pretty much owe you for him! Least I can do
Good video Dale keep up the good work
These videos keep getting better and better! Just when I thought I knew something you teach something I never thought about. Thanks for these videos so much
Really great video! Your videos are the best educational on turkey hunting available! Keep them
Coming please!
Dale I have followed you for years and a better turkey hunter for your advice Thanks
On this video I don’t understand how sitting near a tree with a turkey on roost is any different than sitting at the same tree in the evening waiting for the bird to return is any different ethically
Looking forward to your response
Thanks
Great content!
As always really enjoy your videos very informative and helpful definitely get the wheels turning in my approach to hunting Turkey. Here in WI we can hunt all day I've taken 2 Jake's and had a big Tom come in with 1 hen last year 1st period last year could hear him spitting & drumming was really cool unfortunately had malfunction with my gun buts that's another story lol. We're expecting our second born beginning of April only gonna get up for the fourth period can't wait.
Good luck all hunters
Thank you for the video on evening hunting.im from n.e pa and the second half of the season is all day hunting.i only tried evening hunting a couple of times with no success but I'm going to keep trying.i noticed the scope on your shotgun it looks like a bushnell.a very good scope.1.5 to 4 power I have.also on your I noticed what looked like a gun camera.if I'm correct could you please tell me the make and model of the camera? I'd like to start filming my own hunts.thanks for the videos I enjoy watching them.god bless!
You ever shot a squirrel 🐿️ out the tree or strictly off the ground?
Very informative vieo. Thanks. Quite often on my trail cam during the spring, I'll pick up a lone hen feeding. Then, minutes later, a gobbler will come by strutting. My guess is the gobbler heard the hen purring and feeding and such from a distance, and then came in looking for her.
I’m hoping to get my first gobbler this spring and your videos been very helpful! Keep em comin!
I’m 18 and I’ve killed one gobler as a kid, but this is my first year mostly hunting alone and I know exactly how you feel. This channel is doing such a good job of walking people just like us through what to do without glossing over any details. Absolutely love it!
@@hardyharris1756 good luck to u!
@@donaldjones5701 You too hope you get your first one this year. Good luck and be safe!
Did you kill one that year?
@@cottoneyed_joe4247 yes I did actually! 24lb 11 1/2” beard 1 1/8” spurs he was a giant turkey for my first one and got it done on indiana public land I’m quite proud of it. Got skunked last year but hoping to get another this April
Carl childers calls turkeys orit den lol sounds great good info you can tell he's been in the turkey woods a time or two
I shot 2 gobblers in the evening this year. I have had really good luck with evenings. They don't gobble much but I usually just camp out in a known turkey area, put out a couple decoys and soft call. Seems to work pretty well.
Dale, come up to Ontario and put those skills to work.
We have alot of 25+ lb Easterns
Great vid the property i hunt tends to have 5 gobblers that go off in the evening i think there is a huge tom that patrols the property cus the others wont come on the property and if they do they move thru fast any adivce on how to get the dominate or the others to come in
Dale hey
Gettin fired up folks!
The reason that old gobbler does not gobble much in the evening is, that he wears himself out in the morning, most or all hens in his area have been bread. He knows another busy morning is coming so he better eat & rest.
Killed one tonight opening day at 7:41
Called for 45 minutes using a slate
Last 15 was a slate call then gobble called 3 times had 8 long beards sprint in
I've killed more birds just with clucks I think it's an amazing call that is overlooked
There is no better thrill then a gobbler busting a gobble 4ft behind your blind.
I'll never forget when I killed my 9 bearded bird from Tenn.
Here in va we can’t hunt till the beginning on may, any tips for specifically morning hunting only?
All the videos are for mornings . Anything you find will work in a morning cause that’s when most turkey hunting is done. Just watch the videos and learn ! Thanks for watching
So I have just started hunting this year and a coworker seriously swears to putting a red dew rag 10 yards off from where you are instead of any decoys. Any opinion on this Dale?
How often should I call?
So, you can set up near a known tree and shoot him when flies down but it's unethical to shoot him from the same spot on his way back to that same tree. What??
So, what's the difference in setting under the roost tree in the morning and saying you don't think it's ethical to sit under at night? Same thing to me.... you're still hunting.
Cause your not shooting him off the roost and usually your not right under a Gobblers roost. If your setting up underneath the roost you don’t have to call or work the bird in. Kind of shooting a sitting duck. Mornings near his roost he may fly towards your direction or he may fly away from it. So I agree with Matt I think it’s more sporting working the bird in. Just my thoughts.
I wish New York State did not close at 12 Noon.
Now New Jersey is open to 12 Noon also. Last 2 weeks of New Jerseys Spring Season however goes to Sunset now.
New York should really follow what New Jersey has done
“Hunt the gobbler the way he wants you to hunt him.” Great advice and a VERY underrated line
Have 550 acres of private land in Georgia full of turkeys if you ever wanna hunt !
I hear more hens and see more hens then gobblers
Hey buddy would love to see a video of how you feel when someone misses a turkey , my dad missed one and is really down about himself , feels the turkey will never return etc
You hunt with longbow need be in tree with bird son with gun yes be out 50 70 yards
