I like joking, dry sarcastic humour nonstop. Many don't get it, I try and reel it in a bit or dumb it down. But when I meet a person that not only laughs but also builds on the jokes, the connection is so... comfortable.

In my experience men absolutely do not like funny women. Maybe a small percentage, but it’s so minuscule the chances of you finding one are null and void really. Marilyn Monroe said “if you can make a woman laugh, you can make her do anything” never the other way around. There’s a reason for that. It’s an inconvenient truth, but a truth nonetheless

I love how she doesn't set up punchlines or tell jokes, she just sneaks them in and you don't even process it until a second or two later and she just keeps going while everyone laughs

That is Conan's fake forced laugh. Conan's reactions look more like he's annoyed by her. His assistant is much funnier & spontaneous. She always makes him laugh.
If you are funny and gorgeous the gorgeous supersedes the funny so you will be ok. She isn’t wrong about the concept however.

In a majority sense she's not necessarily wrong, but blanket statements should almost always be avoided unless it's something like "men and women need oxygen to survive." I wouldn't define a sense of humor in a woman like that at all. Then again I grew up watching Carol Burnet with my grandmother.
This is 100% true. Looking back every woman I’ve been attracted to and said she has a great sense of humor was more about she thinks I’m hilarious. We’re all a bunch of narcissists.

There is a huge amount of ego that goes into being a comedian. Top comedians are in tune with idea that they have to have an ego/ persona, that they have to control a room by framing/controlling the conversation and to an extent they have to appear as the wittiest person in any given situation. Notice how Conan takes a back step to allow Nikki to get her material out, whereas if he was interviewing an actor he would be more forward with framing/ controlling the questions and conversation. For men, it's more acceptable to dictate the dynamic of a conversation with good conversation and wit but with women it is seen as being yappy as Nikki mentioned

It's yappy if a man's doing it as well. The question boils down to: is the yappy person entertaining you with their yapping? If they are, you don't care. If they aren't, you will be bored and complain about their yapping, regardless of whether it's a man or woman doing the yapping.

The girl I'm dating now is very funny, it's one of my favorite things about her. But she's not raunchy, she's extremely smart and witty, and all her jokes are intelligent and done with no hesitation. I love it.

Anytime a woman makes me laugh, she owns a piece of my heart forever. In every sketch show I have ever watched, I'm always attracted to the women on it. No matter what they look like. I don't know how this stereotype of men not being into funny women started.

It's an extension of the desire to control women. To be sure, that's not all men. But a man who wishes to control women has little interest in a woman with her own personality. However, men who seek intellectual equals have little issue with women who think for themselves and craft their own jokes.

Therefore, it would be fairer to say that women are attracted to men who are not attracted to women who are funny or that women don't like men who like funny women. I think at the end of the day that's where all the complaints about men really come from. Women just wish that the men they find attractive were more like the men they don't find attractive. (And of course, the same could be said about what men look for in women).

As a scientist this makes my skin crawl. As I am sure every other scientist who sees this will immediately do, I read the article by the Atlantic:

The "publication" this article references is being wildly miss-represented. A Northwestern assistant professor merely reviewed the words used to describe male and female teachers in year end reviews from a website. This is not validation of a bias, as the representation would imply. It would require much more targeted and refined testing to be able to support that assumption. The descriptions given were from college students, a population that is still currently more female then male. So, if I made the same "jump to conclusion" style of assumption, I would be well supported to say that women do not find other women funny. But... since I don't make assumptions... I wouldn't say that, because it would not be sufficiently supported by the literature.
This is an extensively researched topic, and there are many hypothesis surround the difference in humor perception. That being said it is a wild

I live to make people laugh. My father once said "I love my kids because they make me laugh." I thought that was a great compliment from a parent. Why is she so much funnier on talk shows than when she actually does her job. I certainly do not think that women cannot be funny, and I have seen her standup numerous times and havent laughed once but anytime she's on Conan, I burst out laughing every 10 seconds.

Maybe it's the difference in format, but i don't think you can say that her writing isn't great. To me she definitely has prepared material in this conversation. It's SOP for most comedians at talk shows.
