"Some jump starter packs have a 12v outlet, there are 120V ac to 12V dc adapters, you could use another car, or build a 12v power source." You did NOT EXPLAINED WELL
I just used it to replace my 2022 Subaru Ascent. Thank you for the video. Work as described. Old Battery replaced without any interruption and keep all my settings
You don't really need to warn people that have cars built prior to OBDII plug inclusion. Other than resetting the radio channels, you have no CanBus microprocessors that need reprogrammed. Times were simpler back pre-1995
@@OnTheWorkbench replaced old with brand new and now car is possessed. Windows, locks, radio off and now car won’t even start. Fob doesn’t even lock it.

I just ordered it. I have a 2018 Chevy Malibu LT and want to be prepared ahead of time.

glad to hear your success!
Wait.. why are you plugging the power port and the obd2 connectors into the same car?
Again, what power source? An important step since most of us don’t have a 12v source laying around.

This is a really clear explanation on how to do this procedure, as opposed to several other videos which are kind of confusing.

Why the secret power source? Nice effort but leaves some of us hanging. Power source, what power source!
😃
Definitely going to have to pick one of these up. Wish there was one I could power off my kobalt batteries or usb.
Did you see the last few seconds of the video? 😉 I left an Easter egg there....
@@OnTheWorkbench haha not until you mentioned it
It did not work in a 2009 mariner premier. The 5 amp fuse blows in the OBD.
You didn’t plug the thing into the cigarette lighter in the same car you were changing the battery in right?
Recently changed out battery and now cars acting possessed. Today won’t start and key stuck in ignition any advice?
Is the battery charged? Not all new batteries come fully charged..

@@n8vdescent I hope you didn't cross your negative and positive battery terminal posts. That happens sometimes and results in what you're describing.
I wanted to install an amp in my 2022 Audi but I guess using this would be the same as installing the amp without disconnecting the battery
Yes that would be the case
@@OnTheWorkbench I installed the amp without disconnecting, took it slow and safe, no issues..
You can just use jumper cables to wire new battery in parallel.
