So wish i had watched this yesterday. Went with friend to get new battery at stealership. Had a 7:30 am appointment. 4 1/2 hours later we got the car back. $277 labor, $345.21 battery. $656.73 total. To top it all off they wanted $233.xx for a wheel speed sensor PLUS LABOR. I bought that off of Amazon for $18. I could buy it locally for about the same price. Its a 30 minute job to replace. The hardest part is removing the wheel. Im totally wrecked after having to wait 4 1/2 hours for a battery replacement and oil change. Pretty sure The bmw dealership in Tuscaloosa, AL just lost a valuable customer for shitty service and outrageous stealership rip off prices.
The only Mercedes I have in the garage right now is our EQS. Next time we get a gas powered Mercedes I'll definitely make sure to do a video on the battery registration process on it.
Excellent video, just wanna check because right now the replacement battery I got everywhere is DIN 92 for my F30, so do I just keep the same 90 Ah battery and just register a new battery with Bimmerlink?
More 80 updates soon hopefully 🙂 For the 80 series, or really any daily driver or a vehicle you take roadtrips in, where you want to keep track of health statistics, gauges, MPG, and other stats, the app I like is called "DashCommand". For troubleshooting and general diagnostics my go to app for easy diagnostics with the bluetooth OBD2 adapter and my cellphone is "OBDLink"
If the newer battery is different specification than the original one older battery, do you press same or different capacity/type? Because the first app you select type of battery and the second app might reflect the change I guess, but do you still press different capacity/type? I’m planning to buy the device and apps so before making a mistake your help is much appreciated instead of going a mechanic and spend god knows how much 😅. Thanks First time potential user
Excellent video, thanks. Need to do this on my 2018 X3. Also ended up buying a battery with a different Ah rating than the original BMW battery.
Thanks for the support! It’s so easy to do yourself. Even with a battery that’s slightly different in size.
Great instructional ! Very thorough explanation of steps ! Thanks for sharing 🤙🏽
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!

Oh man. Sorry to hear that. I agree, the dealership prices are getting outrageous
Hi bro, nice video...but can u also show me how to change and register battery on the new Mercedes CLA 200 AMG for instance. Thx a lot

@NKPGarage Thanks man, but most importantly as well is please let us know what kind of software and from where / how u get it
Hello, as i read and see,if you purchase identical battery as orginal you dont need to code it, you just need to register it
Yup, that is correct. You just register it if it is identical specs.
@@NKPGarage i was having ORGINAL bmw 12v 80ah 800a agm and now i buy varta silver dynamic agm 12v 80ah 800a i this this is identical as orginal
@@MatoHR Yes, that should be the same. So all you have to do is register the new battery.

Yup, you got it! That's all it takes.
I’m here for the 80 but enjoy your other how to videos…I’ve always liked the 7 series. Do you have a scanner that’s good for a obd2 fzfe 80?

If your new battery is a different capacity you definitely need to change the setting while programming the new battery in.
Eski akü de yeni akü de 70ah. Kodlama yapmak gerekiyor mu?
If they're both 70ah you can just register it.
